Beautiful Craftsmanship. Are all Marto Conan Atlantean "Full Tang Swords? I have recently purchased the Model number 117 Conan Atlantean Sword that's "Silver Plated." It's a Worderful, Well made Sword. It even is "Engraved" with a Serial number 2A2184. Has Engraved Marti Signature ad Engraved Toledo Logo And Engraved "Conan Logo." Please I desperately need to know 3 things. 1) Is it a "Full Tang" Fully Functional Battke Ready Sword? 2) Is it a "Special Edition" Marto Silver Plated Atlantean Sword? 3)Is it "Silver Plated over Bronze?" 4) Was it supposed to come Originally in a Wooden Box/Crate? My Marto Sword Feels 100% Solid, I know it's an Official Licensed Marti Conan Atlantean Sword. Because it comes with the Engraved Serial number, And Certificate of Authenticity. Please I need to know if it's a Full Tang Sword? Or a Rat Tail Sword? Please somebody Reply. Many people are saying that only Albion, and Windlass Atlantean Swords Are Full Tang/Fully Functional Swords. But my Sword is extremely Beautiful. And Solid. And I mean Super Solid. I wish Margo would make the True AtlanteanScabbards? Just like the Scabbard in the Movie. That's Metal and Fur. Wrapped in "X" style Light Brown Leather Straps, And can be used at the waste, and has a Shoulder Sling? Please someone Reply. I don't want to have to dissemble my Sword to Find out. Thank You. And thank you for making a well made Atantean Swords. I just hope that they have a Full Solid Tang and not a Rat tail Tang? Thanks again. If it's a Silver plated Special Edition? That really would be Amazing. Because mine has Engraved Serial Number 2A2184.
Hello sir. I have been trying to find out the same myself, for some years now. There is not much info, on this subject. Full tang, or not.. But I am now convinced that they are NOT full tang. I have the Marto bronce edition Atlantean and Fathers sword. And they are made from 440 stainless steel, and have a semi tang/ rattail construction. If you notice in the video, around 6:00. min, they actually show the handle. Marto does say, they are for display only. But I have heard/read, that Marto has actually made a limited anniversary edition high carbon steel, full tang Atlantean sword. I think it is almost as expensive as the Albion one. I am sorry that I cannot give you concrete evidense. Best thing you can do is maybe go to the Marto homepage, find the exact version you have, and see if they write that it is either 440 stainless, or high carbon steel. Hope this helps just a little.
@@carstentilsgren2079 hello, thanks for replying. I took mine apart to reshape my blade to be as the Albion Jody Samson version. Mine is Full Tang. Unfortunately it's not high carbon steel. I didn't care about the serial numbers. I made mine look Exactly like the movie sword. When after Conan is resurrected and swings his sword around his back. I copied everything in the exact blade shape. Took a while because I did it by dremmel and using emery cloth. Now mine looks just like Albion Armors version. Except for the Cross handles serpents tounges, and because mine is Silver Coated. I even grinded the right and left side of the blade near the riccasso/secondary hand grip is. Because it's a bastard long sword. I reshaped it near exact by eye, and patience.
@@4mikeyd By Crom, that must have been a lot of work! Was it easy to put it back together again? Pommel, and everything? Cool that it is atleast full tang. Now I have to take my swords apart too, and end this mystery haha. I was just sure, they were all rattail. But maybe Marto make different versions, I dont know. Some years ago, I sharpened both swords, with a little metal file. Took forever, but now they actually have a nice sharp edge on them. I also made some scabbards, from wood and wrapped in fake fur and leather string. Looks pretty cool. Still hope to one day, own an Albion/Jody Sampson high carbon steel Atlantean sword. It is free to dream, right? :) Well, I am going to watch Conan the barbarian now, for the 1000th time. Be well, sword friend!
@@carstentilsgren2079 the pommel screwed on. And used clear Epoxy resign to make it solid. I did have to heat the pommel to remove it. After i heated it. I used a vice to hold in place to unscrew it. At first i heard a snap, and felt a pop. But i think thats bc Marto factory also used epoxy when hammering the pommel on. The threads are slightly over an inch. Marto craftsmanship is no way made like an Albion. Especially designed by the late great Jody Samson. I'm going to buy an Albion Atlantean one day. And I'm making a scabbard from sheepskin rug from "Overland." But I want to make one that resembles his Brass/Fur custom Scabbard. That will take a lot of work. Be careful with yours. BC you sharpened you blade. I have to get a more lighter emery cloth to finish and oil the blade.
