    Thanks Tommy.
You covered all I need to start an affordable wood workshop in the most practical way, in just eight short videos.
This means a lot to many people who are starting out, and are looking for practical content.
    Thanks once again.
    Regards from Uganda.

I bought the plans and built the workshop never expecting my box store jobsite tablesaw to take out on me and I'd spend a month ordering and waiting for the parts that did not fix the problem to show up. Yes, another part is due in 3 days, but in the meantime, thank you Tommy, the workshop table saw I made is taking up the slack.
Before ordering Tommy's plans I had viewed YT's videos of woodworkers shops with 2 or 3 tablesaws and my thought was, well, if I had the space, the volume of work, and the money to buy more than my one table saw, just why should I do so? Question answered, TS breakdown. Duh.
Thank you Tommy, you have been a tremendous help solving my present dilemma.
My little 10 x 20 can spare the room for a second tablesaw and it comes in handy making repetitive cuts needing a re-set of the fence between each cut. I even made collapsable legs for my workshop unit that fold up under the base and make hauling to a jobsite quite easy and quick.

After watching the whole series, I could see it being useful when I'm working away from the shop and don't have to do anything too large. Although it would be easy to set this up outside and rip larger sheets down if need be on the lawn. Cheers

I really appreciated to have these videos in addition to the very good paper guide provided by Tommy. It helped me a lot. I almost finished to build my workbench except the disc sender. For me it looks like the most difficult part after I watched the video and also because I'm using a bigger router I'm not sure I have enough room for the drill. Never mind, now I will just add the throat plate and then I'll be done 😅

Hi Tommy, this series has been really great. Over here in ol' Hong Kong we don't have much space so this little workbench has been perfect for my rooftop mini shed. The biggest challenge is allowing for the wood expansion between wet and dry season. I've built most of this in the dry season so let's see if everything gets a bit tight when the humidity starts kicking in.

    • @OneMinuteWorkbench
      @OneMinuteWorkbench  4 роки тому

Thank you! My guess would be that it'll hold up pretty well, as long as it's protected. The one thing that might get tight is the miter gauge, and that gives me an idea (if that does happen). You could add two oversized holes to the outside rail that captures the miter gauge, and add counterbores. Add threads below in the main cabinet. Add hex bolts through the counterbores, through the oversized holes, into the threads below. The counterbores should be deep enough to conceal the head of the hex bolt below the surface, so they don't get in the way of workpieces sliding across. With the oversized holes you can loosen and tighten the hex bolts and adjust the rail so that it's tight enough to hold the miter gauge correctly, but not too tight. Then when the season changes, you can adjust again. Just a thought!

You might want to concider a couple of additions if they will fit inside storage inside.
Your angle grinder chop saw with a way to clamp or bolt onto the unit.
A belt sander would be nice.
Since not all of the cuts will be at 90 degrees. You need an angle adjustment on your miter gauge

One suggestion I can make is to use a set of those self-leveling feet on the bottom of the cabinet. They should help keep things square from the floor and remove any wobble from an uneven ground. This is very cool! Great work! One thing I thought that a skillful person like you can do is to convert the whole thing into a battery powered one. Install one central battery, extend wires into each tool, and that should probably make the whole thing mobile. Maybe even put the battery into a charger somehow? And charge with one cable that’s on the side...:) This is probably too much, but could be fun future iteration for your work.

never heard of low friction tape, have no idea where to even get it, it probably costs too much (where i live), but i had a sticking drawer to fix once, planed the bottom down a little, refinished it with lacquer (polyurethane) and rubbed candle wax on both surfaces, now it runs smoother and more easily than any drawer slide ever could.
I have an old drill that has no bearing behind the chuck, it just rubs on lubed plastic, which obviously wore out and is now pretty much useless and unfixable, but i can still use it to drive a shaft, since the shaft doesn't move side to side, so i might make that sander part.

Thanks Tommy for the awesome series. When you make the base is it possible to include tool storage etc. By that I mean, some chisels, screwdrivers, etc. Some basic tools that you need to help in terms of woodworking.
Additionally, whilst I have enjoyed the series I wonder whether a short video on explaining the use of each tool would be helpful as well. I for instance enjoy using a hand saw to make most cuts but find myself limited on some occasions and can see it might be useful to have a table saw in those circumstances.
And finally, I wonder whether it is possible to incorporate an actual table saw but build up the rest of the microshop, what I mean is to leave out some elements of the shop but include the rest?
Once again I thank you for the inspiration, my shop is 8ft x 4ft and I can see how something like this would be hugely helpful.
