Thank you for sharing! Also thank you for reminding those of us who also can't always recognize there hand writing there after, there not alone in this.
I so enjoy watching what you’re doing! And wow Oreo carrot cake cookies…😋 I would suggest you save and stabilize the ones you’ve written it on hand so your daughter will have them and then also type them on your cards. I love all my Mom’s hand written recipes.
What a cool cook book! I love watching you craft sooooo much. I don't get a lot of down time and barely any crafting time so it's really relaxing to watch you
If I were you Nik I'd save those written recipes for collage work. It would be so cool to make something for someone else regarding those precious recipes. I love it when I'm given an awesome recipe
I think I'm in love--what a darling cookbook journal! AND, I am such a font geek, Nik. You have no idea--well, I mean, probably. (632 fonts and counting) puh-leeeeeeeze, find the name of that font and post it??? I think it is wonderful! 😍🤗 Bare chestage going on??? OMG, I'm laughing so hard I just spewed iced tea on my keyboard!!!
One of the things I got after my Mom passed away was her hand written recipe book. I treasure it, not so much because of the food but because It’s in her handwriting. It’s a bit of my Mom I can see anytime I need to.
The cook book is a great idea. I have been trying to get a good idea for putting recipes from my family that have crossed over the river. I would like to make one for each family. Good thing I come from a small family. LOL. Love your videos
I am laughing so hard right now! Isn’t it ironic that the recipe that is messed up in the little notebook is carrot cake.? Did anyone else notice that?
How wonderful! I have a notebook for my daughter of our fav recipes. We note on the cards when we tested and what we changed. Love the idea of the journaling as well! My daughter and I started ours since she has dairy allergies and we alter a lot of recipes to suit her. She is 13 now and we started since she was 5. This was also a nice way of getting to know you some more ❤❤❤
I love that recipe keeper! And yes, I have been "journaling" for decades on my recipes & in my cookbooks. That is a great idea to add a card for notes. Thanks so much for sharing.
My grandmothers and great Aunts hand written recipes are my absolute favorites. I framed several and have them on the kitchen walls as decor. Just looking up and seeing them gives me warm and fuzzy feels even if all I am making is a pot of coffee. Having a common place recipe book to store the rest would be awesome. 👍💕👍
Recently I have been adding recipes to my regular writing/art journal as we have been having Family Dinners. My children are grown so these are precious times. I have been writing down the menus and then adding the recipes in flips. My children love it!
Hi Nik! I could just gush about all the inspiration you've given to my book creations!!! I probably will at some point! Today I was simply moved to encourage you, please keep some handwritten recipes in your book! My mama passed a year ago, and her handwritten recipe cards mean the world to me! Thank you for all the great ideas, and your generous spirit!!
Ohmgosh ...you have just inspired me to put all of my mom's handwritten recipes in one of these awesome books!!! I just finished a junk journal to hold my project names, measurements and "how to's"....But didn't even think I could make it into a recipe book!! If she were here, she'd be so happy.... Thanks so much for sharing! ! Hugs 💕~Suzy~
I totaly have that with my hand writing lol, thought I was alone on that, even my signiture can change depending on the day. Love the book, very pretty, love the pocket system xx
What a cool way to save recipes and gift them. I have recipes in my grandmother's handwriting that are very precious to me! What a great way to collect family recipes and pass them on! TFS
It is important to save recipes! I love to come across them around the holidays, especially the ones in her handwriting. Ironically, my mom was kind of a horrible cook but she had good recipes for dips 'n stuff
Thank you for sharing your love of cooking and the fact that you worked as a pastry chef! I love to cook and bake especially and worked as a product designer for a large bakery for years. Going to look for the carrot cake Oreos for sure! Loved all you shared today as well as the laughs. So good to see you here twice in one day! Yay. Definitely got my “Nik fix” today 💕😋
Ohmygosh! So...LOVE the book!!! And I have recipes falling out of everywhere, so I understand the need to organize. Also, as you were flipping through the notebooks, I saw several recipes that I'd like to have! Way, way cool!!!
I loved that you have carrot cake recipes to go with your carrot cake Oreos. I have a junk journal that I’ve been putting off turning into a cookbook collector for my most used recipes. Just too much stuff going on. And no energy when I have the time. Sigh. Thanks for the ideas.
Oh for heavens sakes Ms Nik, I can't believe that people are offended by chestageness. Being a little curious artist at a very young age I would check out the beautiful paintings in our encyclopedias which piqued my interest in being an artist. I believe it was "Liberty Leading the People" by Delacroix that fascinated me the most. Lots of chestage in that one. Lol.
What a wonderful recipe book!!!! I too am a former pastry chef and I have some tried and true recipes as well and really need to do this with some of those recipes!!!!! TFS. My kids are already asking for certain recipes. Need to get on it.
Hi Nik! I’m from Italy and I can tell you that we use both butter and vegetable oils... it depends on the recipe, but people tend to substitute butter with oil (usually corn or sunflower because olive oil is very strong) when making cakes or cookies, just because vegetable oils are healthier! I love your work and I loved to see you have recipes from my country 🥰 Ciao!!!!!
Suddenly I want to write all the recipes, that I have in my head down in a beautiful recipebook .. this just happened, while I was watching this video .. what do you know?! Thank you Nik 😍 .. oh and I'll have to pay Brooke a visit 🙌🏼
Too funny yes Target does that to me too. Don’t fool yourself you will eat them all.........maybe not at once!! Ok I do the same thing with recipes I am trying to get them all in one place. I have little papers every where and notes every where. I think I find them all and then discover another pile. A mix of printed and handwritten recipes is perfect!!
I love carrot cake Oreos! And this book is absolutely adorable. Brilliant. You should hold your recipes still for a moment so we can screen shot them! 😍
This would be a fantastic book used as a swipe file. Save the last envelope. Fill up as much as you can in the other envelopes as much as they'll hold. You could also use that last envelope along the way when you find new recipes or have recipes that are bound, in your collection. You use the cards in the last envelope like an index to write the name and where it can be found. I'm organizing my notebooks (I'm a paper person too. I read that you memory is triggered when you write in blue. I've been testing that theory. It's working when I leave the grocery list at home.) that I have all over my office. Here, only I get it. I like to write on pretty paper. "Yes, I need another journal. Oh, look at this one, too." *I'm a self-proclaimed book and paper hoarder.* Anyway.. I'm using hashtags to help me find and group things easier (I still doubt it..,*giggle*) in Evernote. I can't type with both hands on my phone like I see when I've got my paper out and others keep digital notes . That's not as fast for me, either. Not my bag.
I totally took a picture of your card when you were done writing down that carrot cake bread. I'm going to make that one, since I have a bunch of carrots in the root cellar I need to use up! Love it!
I just got a shiver because my maiden name is Constance 'Connie' Anderson. I too have to hand write things down, my husband Robert tries to get me to type things into Word.
OMG! Carrot cake is one of my favs and I can't wait to get some of those Oreos! Now, if they make a Boston Cream Pie Oreo I will be in heaven! LOL! Very cool recipe keeper journal and I await your shelf tutorial! TFS the inspiration and creativity, Nik!
I am so jealous of your cooking journal...it is gorgeous...I put a little clipart pic on my recipes & I find it easier to see it when I flick thru my recipe folder
I'm the same way about needing to write stuff down. It's kind of way of learning called "kinesthetic", which means the physical action actually helps you learn better. My desks at work and home are covered with handwritten notes.
You had me at Oreos. The recipe book is amazing. It might be fun to use the handwritten recipes (once typed) as a collage cover. Love the recipe you created. Definitely have to get the Farmhouse font.
So, when you said you used to be a patisserie chef, I told my husband (he gets to hear you babble at breakfast sometimes instead if hearing me babble), and we both tried to imagine you in that job. We think you were just like the Swedish Chef from the Muppet show. Seem accurate to you?
YAY!! A fellow "goober" for needing to write things out by hand first before typing. (Although my friend in Fort Collins calls me a "wing nut" - which is probably closer to the truth!😂) Writing by hand is tactile and gives me time to think. You absolutely crack me up with your verbiage!! Priceless! Thanks for doing all the work on the mini books so we could be educated on anatomy as well. "Yes, darling, that is what 'those' look like!"😂 Oh my!!! And all for no extra charge. Generous. 💜
Oh my.....that recipe book is just awesome. May I just say one thing. Please write out some of your recipes. We lost our Mom 12 years ago and now I am trying to put together a recipe journal of her hand written recipes. I want to make one for each of my nieces and nephews as a keep sake. Just an idea.
BookMaker, Crafter & Cook, OH MY. OK Miss Master of Many, what else do you do??? What an amazing person you are &&& everything comes out A-MAZ-ING. Something you might consider. Stagger title tabs on the tops of the cards so you can use each slot to hold multiple cards. I know I would have to do this because I have way more fav recipes than would fit in each section. Of course, they are a combination from MY Grams, My Mom & Me lol. Well dearest, as always this was a fab video, thx so much. Toodles
I must say that I did find one lovely little font called 'tomatoes' while googling for that farmhouse font :) But I'd sure love to know the name of the font too.
Such a cool book, and equally cool video. I think you should use your own handwriting on some of the recipes, you are after all, a wonderful artists. Love you stuff. Looked for Brook the Bookmaker but couldn't find her channel.
One problem with "family recipes"....my grandmother and mother were great cooks with a capital G!!.......good old southern cooks, but they never measured anything out and you knew you had it right by taste. My mother made the best potato salad in the world and it was all in the dressing...and once again you tested by taste. Book is awesome! Your daughter will love having your recipes in your hand writing! I treasure the hand written recipes I have from my mom & granny.
I second that! I plan on framing my grandmothers butter tart recipe....
I thought the same thing. I have my Mom's recipe tin and quite a few of the recipes are written in her handwriting.
Thank you so much for showing the recipe organizer!!!! I am so glad you like it and are going to actually use it!!
Thank you for sharing! Also thank you for reminding those of us who also can't always recognize there hand writing there after, there not alone in this.
Awesome book! And the FIRST thing I thought when I saw your recipe cards was "What's that FONT??" Absolutely love it too!
I think I found it! It looks like Farmhouse Country font duo :)
Oh, cool, thank you Angi!!
@@angiamundson5475 Oh, cool, thank you Angi!! I think I replied to myself above the first time, lol
I so enjoy watching what you’re doing! And wow Oreo carrot cake cookies…😋 I would suggest you save and stabilize the ones you’ve written it on hand so your daughter will have them and then also type them on your cards. I love all my Mom’s hand written recipes.
You had me at carrot cake Oreos. Love your videos, Nik...thank you!
Would love to see a course on your recipe cards. I would definitely pay to learn this....so cute and creative.
What a cool cook book! I love watching you craft sooooo much. I don't get a lot of down time and barely any crafting time so it's really relaxing to watch you

Enjoy filling it up Nik
Making your wee books. They are so much fun xxx

yes and I want that recipe!
🤣🤣🤣
"I need to see it ... I'm kind of a goober like that." LOL I resemble that remark!
How wonderful! I have a notebook for my daughter of our fav recipes. We note on the cards when we tested and what we changed. Love the idea of the journaling as well!

What a great way to display Recipes! Thanks to the creator and you Nik for showing all of us.
A wonderful idea, has me thinking about ephemera storage :)

Oh dear! I haven't walked down the cookie aisle in years.
But Carrot Cake Oreos?? 🥕
The struggle is real.😒
Well, wait....carrots are healthy!👍🏻😁
I totaly have that with my hand writing lol, thought I was alone on that, even my signiture can change depending on the day.
Love the book, very pretty, love the pocket system xx

I know Im kinda off topic but does anyone know a good website to stream newly released series online ?
@Korbyn Holden flixportal xD
@Leonel Houston thanks, I went there and it seems like a nice service :) I appreciate it !
@Korbyn Holden Glad I could help xD
What a wonderful recipe book!!!! I too am a former pastry chef and I have some tried and true recipes as well and really need to do this with some of those recipes!!!!! TFS. My kids are already asking for certain recipes. Need to get on it.
This is a wonderful gift you were given !! Perfect journal for all your recipes !!
Wonderful video. I do have some recipes I need to add to our family cookbook

Loved this, Nik. I don't have many recipes, just cook books that I just look at... shh. Enjoy seeing what you do, thanks for sharing !

What a wonderful idea, saves all those little pieces of paper with recipes on hanging about. You're really slaying those dragons ;)
Thank you Nik! What a beautiful recipe journal! Love the little book. Ready to make mine this weekend 😊
Omg! Carrot cake Oreos ? Yum!
I love carrot cake Oreos! And this book is absolutely adorable. Brilliant. You should hold your recipes still for a moment so we can screen shot them! 😍

My husband try’s to get me to put everything in my phone, and I much rather Wright things down as well. Great book 📚
I just got a shiver because my maiden name is Constance 'Connie' Anderson. I too have to hand write things down, my husband Robert tries to get me to type things into Word.
Wow that’s cool, my given name is Corrine Claytor, have always gone by Connie, because that’s the name my mom liked
In Southern Italy they tend to use oil but in the North they do use butter.
Love the Junk Journal ! Must feel great on hands! The envelopes gives ideas!
This is a great way of keeping your recepies, i got a lot of those myself laying around.
Food is family time!! Food and drink.
I am so jealous of your cooking journal...it is gorgeous...I put a little clipart pic on my recipes & I find it easier to see it when I flick thru my recipe folder
Awesome recipe book Nik! It would be fun to do a page or two like that in a regular journal! Glad you didn't turn purple😁❤Amy

Gorgeous recipe book! Hope you will do a flip through when you have more of your recipes added to it.
I was cracking up so much that I had to subscribe!! Oh my goodness woman! Share the love!!
Great idea, I need to do the same. Thx for sharing!
I’m dying OREOS and carrot cake on top of that, was not expecting that! Target bad! 🤣🤣🤣
beautiful cookbook. neat idea to reproduce those note cards in Photoshop. Very neat.
cold hands...consider B12 deficiency nudge nudge ;)
So, when you said you used to be a patisserie chef, I told my husband (he gets to hear you babble at breakfast sometimes instead if hearing me babble), and we both tried to imagine you in that job.

What a fun cookbook! I have the same trouble with my hand writing! lol
My grandmother wrote down/clipped and saved SO. MANY. DANG. RECIPES. I’m gonna have to make one of these lol
What!!! Carrot cake flavoured Oreas?
Really neat idea with recipes. Very smart thinking!
What a great Book 😍 and a fun Video Nic 😍 thanks for it 🌹

Thank you very much, now I have to go get some Oreos, I Love carrot cake, lol 🤣😂 and what an awesome book, love that idea, tyfs 🤗
Just beautiful recipe keeper. I bit you were also very artistic in your pastry chef days
What a great cookbook...love it!

Delightful, as always, Nik...carrot cake Oreos...OMG. Enabler girls go to a special place, can you guess? Smiles, Carol
Great idea for a book
Cool book! Love that font as well! I also have that wierd handwriting thing, have screwed up my name / signature even. Lol. Thank you for sharing!
Can you post the exact name of that font, pretty please?
I must say that I did find one lovely little font called 'tomatoes' while googling for that farmhouse font :) But I'd sure love to know the name of the font too.

oh my goodness ~ I don't cook at all, and don't enjoy it when I do, but that book would make it all awesome!
I’ve been collecting my recipes too. This gives me ideas.
What a beautiful recipe book. Not normally an Oreo fan but Carrot Cake Oreo, let's hope we have them in Canada!
Yummmm i love carrot cake never had oreos b4 we only have chocolate. Thid journal looks good been wanting to do a recipe book.
Love the book and the Farmhouse "thingamy" font.......and want those Oreo's!
What a great recipe book/organizer!
Can I buy a recipe organizer like that? I love it and it would be wonderful to save my grandmothers hand written recipes
Carrot cake Oreos?!?? I’ll be right back!!!
What a great book you’ve got I love it tfs xx
Carrot cake Oreos! OMG!! Well, we know where I'll be stopping after work tomorrow!
One problem with "family recipes"....my grandmother and mother were great cooks with a capital G!!.......good old southern cooks, but they never measured anything out and you knew you had it right by taste. My mother made the best potato salad in the world and it was all in the dressing...and once again you tested by taste. I come pretty close but my sister has it down pat, which is funny cause her name's Pat..lol
I’ve been wanting to do this. Thanks for the inspiration ❤️
Oh, I need one of those!!!! Have a similar “recipes throughout the house” situation 😂😂
my husband now wants the carrotcake oreos... lol.. i too have many pieces of paper with recipes scribbled on them.. time to do something like this for myself
You are so funny and I can relate to your Target comments😏. This book is awesome!1
This recipe keeper book is fabulous!
Nil, my biscotti recipe doesn’t have butter or oil. But they are still crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. Also I think if you add a photo for each recipe would be nice. I know I like to see how a recipe should look when I’m making it.
Can you recreate this fabulous recipe book? Or maybe the creator has a tutorial for this recipe book?
Carrot cake.... OMG... Yummy...... Now I need to go tomorrow, thank you nik!!! 😏 hehe
