This is a festival that originated from China, according to the lunisolar calendar, which is the Chinese calendar. So it's CHINESE NEW YEAR! English is spoken by many countries, but it is still called English.

Not many people realise Chinese New Year is not Lunar New Year. Many mistakenly thinks Chinese New Year is based on lunar calendar, not knowing that it's actually based on lunisolar calendar (known as agro-calendar). Lunar New Year is on a different date from CNY. But thanks for the good wishes.

How long have you been celebrating the it, since in the culture revolution? Your English Is very good so you define & name the Chinese in English for the English? In this video, I only heard people speaking in English: "Happy New year" & in Chinese: "新年快樂". What did you hear? Same as what you written: happy Chinese New year? Should they also rename China Town to Chinese Town?
BTW: Since it looks like you are an expert for the Chinese New year(Lunar New year) do you know the other name of the 7th day of the Lunar New year or the Chinese New year in your saying and what is the greeting?
