THOMAS MCMILLAN hi Thomas! Probably not. Brushes tend to wear out and as such they give intermittent power. You can press on the sides of the polisher where the brushes are to see if the speed increases or if the unit even turns on. More likely you have a bad power cord. The speed control modules are known to break but they normally only prevent speed changes from happening not keeping it from turning on. Might as well contact Rupes and ask them.
