Quick tip - Chain maintenance: You can cut one or 2 chain links and keep it going if the sprockets are fine and rollers are not loose. My Honda CBR 250 chain lasted 40,000 kms, with regular cleaning and lubing. Spark Plug, basic oiling of all parts and brake pads can be done aftermarket, you just need to look for other bikes that have the same make as your parts. To keep prices down, all companies source their parts from local market based companies. - Such as Fiem makes indicators for a lot of bikes including Honda. My CBR indicator broke off, company price is 550, however I got it for 140 (original), since its the same as used in Stunner. Brake shoe - you can use TVS, Bajaj, Hero, etc.. just need to find the exact shape and size, should work well, unless you are performance oriented then even stock won't suffice. Air Filters - Other brands must have started making these, look out in the market. Make friends with a good mechanic for parts sourcing. Go to the company only for oil and oil filter change. You keep your warranty and your money. I could have done away with just the brake shoe, air filter and oil change. Local mechanics only take 200-300 labor charge.
Few Bikes don't have chain lock. So u can't remove link. Dominar 400 has no chain lock. I have covered 22000km Will go upto 30000km easy. Forcefully installing chain lock not recommend. Regards.
I have noticed one thing on my new Honda, Chain dries up pretty quick & its just been 200 km, will need to keep gear oil handy to improve life span. That's what I used on my old Yamaha and kept chain well lubed. Thanks for the update Deep - please keep sharing your experience.

Honda is literally looting in service. They created the problem of mudflap and for fixing the same they charged 250+GST for mere drilling three holes. For visor the mechanic randomly says 300+GST. I got it fixed for 70 rupees near home.
I had a instance where I have visited bigwing service center for a regular oil change, the service person changed oil and adjusted my chain alignment in front of me. While I drove the vehicle and found some disturbance in the chain next day I visited the SC and asked the reason for the disturbance they said your chain alignment is not right so I asked thetm why ur service engineer changed the alignment which is already in good condition. I was really shocked on hearing the response from the SC. They completely denied the alignment made by their engineer and asked me to bring the vehicle for paid service in order to realign the chain.... What kind of tatics honda is following to improve their service targets
You are absolutely right. I have also the same experience with Honda people.Honda is looting the customers by charging various types of service charges. I raised my complaint to their head office. I got the matter sorted out.
I think this chain and sprocket issue has been Hondas dirty trick They tighten the chain unusually tight and then wen we ask, they say it’ll loosen up U can literally feel the chain suffocating through the footpegs (vibes) Tightening it unusually high n finally say we have to change the assembly Shame
all i can say is for classic 350 for every 6000km we need 170 litres petrol, which cost 17000rs at 100rs avg petrol price, but for cb350 we need 150litre petol which will be 15000rs so, saving 2000 there and spending here in service. where royal enfield service cost is less, :)
They should not charge labor for spark plug change...as a routine they have to takeout the spark plug and clean it. As consumers we have to call out these things. I feel for a well maintained chain set 16k kms is little early for a replacement
Well it depends on how you ride the bike too (terrain of use, frequency of gear shifting and duration of ride). Wear & tear will be high when you tour over long distances over difficult terrain.

Bhai this is just the start. I had a tough time maintaining my CBR250R since 2014 here in Mumbai. Kabhi kabhi lagta tha kahi Haathi toh nahi paal rakha hai maine. Too much Labor Charge and sometimes the work was not even done properly.
I'm planning to buy this one in this month. The main problem is the big wing showroom is around 120km from my place. But still I'm not considering this as an issue. I'm just afraid of the post selling service. I am thinking that i should get the paid services from any near by good garages.

If Chain Sprocket replacement was necessary at 16000 km it means Honda has reduced its quality. At 22000 km my Dominar 400 Chain and Sprocket are in very good condition. They will go upto 29000 km easily. The weight of Original chain sprocket kit of Dominar is heaviest compared to Honda 350 or RE 350. Quality speaks. First paid service was Rs2200/ Regards.

The chain sprocket is small in size compared to other bikes , even if the sprocket wears off a little you can see notice considerable change of performance in the bike

I got chain sprocket changed for dominar at 16500kms. Price was 3500 and labor charge 900rs.. its almost the similar considering 6 gears in D400 and so you are better off actually. With little less labor charge😅
Service charge is high. The parts cost is reasonable. Actually if you were to change all these parts in a Hero Honda splendor -company service, it would cost you around 4k. So for a 350 cc bike it's ok i guess
I own a Honda CBR150r from 2016 and I know that Honda is a genuine Thief.... They took Rs 500 jst for changing the head lamp... that to I provided the light to them...

Even I can cruise without much effort on gixxer maintaining speeds 80-100 Kms/hr. Not recommended but I went 200 kilometers nonstop on gixxer as well. I was thinking for a while about this bike but now I cancel the plan of owning it. No more new bikes, even thought of super bikes but no. Most of the bikes has high maintenance cost than cars.
For paid service I paid Rs 5840/-including oil supplement costing Rs 300/- but could not make out the difference between Rs 338.98 for Opening and fitting and Rs 1100/- for Paid service
Is anyone having ignition related issues in new CB350, sometimes the self works but the bike won't start. The guys at SC are unable to locate the issue. Please help When switched off and on from key , it works fine

Hi, ranjan seems something sketchy regarding your bill. Those individual service charges are only for individual installation for a particular part. If its under paid service then that whole thing should have come under labour cost. They have seperately billed you for each part. U need to take up this matter of utter foolishness.

Oil based lube is much better than spray..
Try using Motul chain cleaner and lube.. it will surely long last👍
Use WD 40 & RE Chain Cleaner it will help!!

I purchased my hness 370 km away... Later on luckily service centre started 160 km away...

Honda have come up with a good bike. Now they need to get their dealership/service experience sorted.

I was thinking for a while about this bike but now I cancel the plan of owning it. No more new bikes, even thought of super bikes but no. Most of the bikes has high maintenance cost than cars.

For paid service I paid Rs 5840/-including oil supplement costing Rs 300/- but could not make out the difference between Rs 338.98 for Opening and fitting and Rs 1100/- for Paid service

In case of Honda car, same issue they charge insane amt of labor charge , but charging 7k for these issues , is lot more , better go for RE .

Hi, ranjan seems something sketchy regarding your bill. Those individual service charges are only for individual installation for a particular part. If its under paid service then that whole thing should have come under labour cost. They have seperately billed you for each part. U need to take up this matter of utter foolishness.
