When I say to invert the raw I mean to change direction in which we connect the pieces (a raw in clockwise and the next raw reverse clockwise) DO NOT INVERT THE PIECES ,ALL 5 RAWS ABOVE THE BASE ARE NORMAL .

The paper I use is nothing special, I buy from a bookstore (I live in a small town and is the only place I find colored paper), is normal A4 colored paper.
I'm sorry but I can not help you, I've never made so large models, I used only 3.8 -2.7 and 5.2-3.8 cm pieces of paper. For making 2.5 feet models from pieces i used I think you need around 40000 pieces. good luck
I don't undrestand, you said we need AROUND 450 pieces or you said without that AROUND word? Are you sure that there is 450 pieces and if you are, are that 450 pieces all in that box or 450 pieces are including those in box and pieces of which base is made???
