- Recently one of you asked, "When I'm at the beach or anywhere I see super skinny girls, I start to feel bad about myself. How do I stop comparing myself?" This is something I've struggled with for years! Today I want to share a few of the things that have helped me -- and some of them were surprising to me! Such as, I don't think it's necessarily bad to "compare" ourselves...what matters is what we do when we notice the differences. I can't wait to hear your thoughts too!! My favorite Bible verse is actually Philippians 1:21
"Fore to live is Christ, and to die is gain." When I think of this verse it reminds me that we are here not to please everyone, but to share Gods love.
This video was so encouraging! The tips on the price other people pay to look a certain way or be amazing at a certain thing is really eye-opening.

I'm a 33 year old male and I struggle with comparing myself to others. I always envy good looking men with families and money.
Dude, focus on you and only you. Ask yourself how can you become successful and rich like them.
Don't worry, everyone is beautiful in their own way, it's not all about looks and money. Don't worry everyone has their own luck :) When you compare to others and that thought comes to you just say I am one unique individual, the same as you can not compare the sun and the moon and they are both beautiful in their own way and shine when their time comes :)

A couple of my favourite bible verses about comparison are:
Galatians 6:4 "Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won't need to compare yourself to anyone else."
Acts 20:24 "But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned to me by the Lord Jesus - the work of telling others the good news about the wonderful grace of God"
I love all the advice you gave in this video! It's definitely something we can all struggle with. I remember when I was 12/13 and would get called ugly, and have guys rate us on a scale of 1-10 at school and it's so so easy to fall into feeling down on yourself. I did for a very long time! One quote I love that really helped me was 'Make their success your honour' - and it helped me celebrate other people without being down on myself! Loved this - Est X

Thank you so very much I needed this. One of my favorite verses that encourages me when I’m feeling insecure and comparing my life to others is Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
This verse reminds me that I am created for a purpose and I don’t need to compare myself to no one else.
Some verses that help me:
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ- Galations 1:10
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; 8 the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.- Romans 12:4-8

This is a great great video on the type of insecurity girls/women often face, I've struggled like u my whole life and this year I was just like I'm done, the devil is such a liar! Always trying to make us feel like we don't measure up, I'm so fed up with always comparing and feeling inadequate. Ur beautiful thanks for this wonderful teaching
I love to compare myself to others. Not love as in enjoy, but sarcastic love as in I’m stuck in a rut! But recently I realized if I submit it to God and pray “Jesus please soften my heart for ____” (especially if I have a jealous heart towards them) it’s a great way to shift my focus back on God and recognize that He made all of us in His image. There is nothing but beauty when it’s Gods creation! Not only that, but imagine all of the amazing friendships we could miss out on because of our jealousy! I made a SUPER good friend, after I submitted my jealousy to God and asked Him to work in that hardened part of my life, and had it not been for the submission I don’t know if we would even be friends. It’s awesome what happens when we submit those areas of our lives to God what He can do with that.
This video really really helped! I definitely struggle with comparing myself because I feel like I could be replaced if I don’t match up with that other person. I’m trying to get better with this and your video really helps so thank you so much for doing what you do!

There is no need to compare. Everyone is made beautiful in the image of God. Whatever body type you have, trust God to bring the right man who appreciates it.
Hi Tiffany! This video is so relatable. I have a few verses: Romans 2:11 says that God shows no favouritism. This to me means that we can take heart in knowing that although we compare ourselves, God loves us all equally. Also, Ephesians 2:10 is one of my favourites. Since, we are God's workmanship, his masterpiece, there is no need to compare ourselves because we are all unique. Also, I really enjoy the videos you do with your husband. You two are such a cute couple!

Hey Tiffany, I love how you talk about that topic! I also think, we actually need each other to be so different and it's a good thing. It helps me reminding me, that each person has the same worth in god's eyes, exactly the way they are. and if someone seems to be perfect, i know in god's opinion we're the same and then i can appreciate the other person and even thank God for him/ her. and then i can also pay him genuinely a compliment.
i actually make a game out of it, thanking God for the great gifts he's given other people, and praising him for it, before i start feeling minor and insecure. that helps a lot is actually quite fun! because, hey, i personally know the God who created all those gifts! how great is that!? and what reason do i really have to feel minor after realising that? exactly, none.

Oh that totally makes sense! I love that the Holy Spirit is teaching you that about resting in His love rather than working for His approval -- that's such a beautiful thing to be learning! It definitely can take a long time to learn (if you're anything like me -- I feel like I'll be learning it the rest of my life!😂), but it's such an amazing lesson. One of my new favorite verses on that idea is 1 John 4:16, "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us." (Instead of our own attempts to gain His approval.) 👌🏽 And I LOVE the verse you shared for comparison! Oh that's such a great one!!

i often compare myself to more mature christians. especially when theyre my age or a bit younger... i get jealous. i know that's terrible but it makes me feel stupid/lost compared to them

I’m comparing all the time it really annoys me I get stressed I need to stop
Growing up I dealt with alot, even by family members who thought lighter skin was better. I have had to deal with it even into adulthood. I have been invalidated by so many black Christians who don't view it as important. I even stop going to my therapist because she would get visibly irritated when I spoke on it, to focus on the gospel. That I needed to just get past it but it was like this is my life. I hate being preached at because being a Christian doesn't mean you aren't till affected. i know I know find your identity in Christ. You can provide facts and still be affected. Sometimes it shows up in an individual bleaching their skin or choosing to be with a spouse of a fairer complexion. I really hate God not for making me dark skin. But creating society where it would be looked down in every society in every generation. Sometimes Im like you really suck god. Even dark skin women across the world can relate. Even the people that brought you into this world will tell you are too dark. Or make jokes. I see dark skin black women who talk about it on UA-cam and they get so so many death threats from black men. Every single time there is some famous black man that the is calling dark skin women ugly, and other black people shrug it off and call it a preference. You have to like both for something to be a preference. You have to like both vanilla and strawberry ice cream for strawberry ice cream to be your preference. I hate the church in this area with a passion.

I've been looking for some way to help my best friend cuz she literally compares herself to EVERYONE. She thinks she's ugly and it's so frustrating!! I've tried and tried and tried some more but nothing I say will ever get through to her 😞... Every time this comes up she acts like it's nothing even though it's such a big problem that is consuming her. She also relies heavily on makeup cuz she hates the way she looks.😖 I hate it cuz she is beautiful but she thinks she's worthless and a waste of space. Ahhhhh idk what to do

Elise Winter One thing I always say is that God doesn’t make ugly. Everything God created is good. We are never really going to notice our beauty as much as someone else does. You are beautiful because you are unique and there is no one on earth like you. If you looked like someone else, you would lose that individuality. Celebrate and praise God that He thought about you before He formed you. And made you purposefully the way you are with no regret. God bless❤️

Have you done a video before where you compare your relationship with God from others for me all I have gotten is visions and I rarely hear him, I have never felt the presence of God, spoke in tongues, been wrecked before. And then I feel I always get the least amount and it discourages me :( and makes me very jealous. I don't mean to be but have you done a video before like that ?
