Why 0.96 and not 0.9 or 1.0, what's the thought process about choosing a sens? Just curious

For this I wanted to see how low I could go without it being too hard, 100 was a little much so I lowered by ten and I already did 80cm so 90cm just made sense. 0.96 makes it 90cm and 1.0 sens makes it 86.5cm
