Love my '00 Bullet 20XD, Mercury 280; has "Blueprint" pad, Dry Stacked with Boyesen "drag" reeds and 25" Boger prop; setup runs great, 94+ mph top end and a quarter mile clocked in 12s; would run well over 100mph with 27" prop, but would sacrifice hole shot and qtr.mi. time... You have great taste in your "dream boat", hope you get there some day.

I LOVE the transom saver!!!! I got one for my Stratos and I love that thing. Trim up, snatcher off.. throw it under the hood, an when I pull out the water grab it out and slide it over the trim pins and trim down an she's done!!! And talk about ROCK SOLID FOR LONG HAULING!!!! 👌
Ran a 203 Champion decent boat, 250 SHO ( I would recommend ) LP batts/. LP start batt, pwer pole charge, Garmin electronics all the way. Garmin Tolling motor. Suz/Honda motor is good / reliable.
1996/97 almost a class action against Champ transom. Transoms issues ran into the 2000's But the 203 I really liked. Got to run a bass cat sts, champion, bullet, skeeter, ranger, gambler, Pheonix 700 series, and 900 series, Statos 201 Pro....
Just for informational purposes. I run a 250 Yamaha SHO and slung an ear off my prop and it went through the lower unit. This was last year. The lower unit I got lucky and found a brand new one the next day. I could not find a prop. Ending finding a Scorpion and they are good props for the Yamaha. Just go down one size. I ended up finding a T2 on EBay and bought it at a great price because overall it is the better prop overall for that engine but I do fill the Scorpion is better built. I carry it as my spare and will eventually buy another one size down and probably make it my primary prop.

As a person looking at getting my first boat I watch a lot of your videos. I need to stay in a reasonable budget. I can't justify $80-100k plus on a boat. I want reliable fishing rig not a tournament guy, just want to enjoy fishing and getting out for some piece and quiet.. That being said I am strongly considering an older Champ such as 203, 206, 210. Or mid 2000s Bass Cat Puma/Cougar. Thank you all for the videos there is so much to get lost in the boat world for someone who knows nothing about it.
I'd have a Skeeter FXR 21 Apex, 250 SHO( only because you cant have a choice), MinnKota 112 Ultrex, 360, 2 Helix 10 on the bow, single Helix 12 in the dash, pair of 8ft power poles, Bobs hyd jackplate, AGM crank batt, 36v lithium for trolling motor, DD 26 blinker trim handles( have these on my current boat).
My dream boat is the Cajun Ragin. With a brown metal flake . Force outboard. Lowrance X-15 graphs. Mercury thruster plus. Second choice Bayliner of course! Color dosent matter.
You just built my dream boat also. My dad had a 193 and it was amazing, the 203 is just that much better... great video man. If I could have a 2nd choice, it would be a gator Trax strike series.
Hard to pick a fream boat I like a few of em........maybe a Lanier fast cat with 450r............or a Stratos asx with a 300x...........or a Allison xb21 with a 300x or 450r.
If it was just me fishing every weekend and not competing, it would be a BassCat Jaguar with a 450R, Ultrex 112, Lowerance/Humminbird Units, 8’ Poles, Hydraulic Plate, Lithium’s and a Powerpole Charge. If I was competing regularly it would be everything the same beside the Hull/Motor. I would have a 250 SHO on any of these: New: Basscat 203 Hybrid, Blazer 650 Pro, Gambler 22’, Ballistic 223. I feel all of those boat brands stand behind their product and their customer service is top notch. Blast from the past (that I would give a ton of TLC): Legend Alpha Series, Champion 203/210 Elite, Old Ranger Z series / Old 500 series. I have heard awesome things from Legend boat owners, can never go wrong with a well put together Champion, and Ranger doesn’t make em like they used to (plus family owns a Z21 Comanche and I have a soft spot for em 😂). Team Marine/Andy, thank you for being an awesome, informative, no BS channel. Definitely helped me learn and love the marine industry! Congratulations on 20k and millions more to come!
Been in both a 203 with a 225 opti and 206. I’d say the 206 was smoother and faster because of the 300 hpdi. I don’t like the 203 the way it sits in the water, front end sits higher than normal.

Love bass boats but when your on the north side of 60, the seats are too low making it hard to stand up. As I get further north it only gets to be a bigger issue.
I’m looking at a 2006 Suzuki 140 4stroke with 300 hours. Gotcha know the guy who owns it and says it’s a great running motor. He wants 3k for it. Trying to see if that’s a good motor?
I just want to find a 2 storke mechanic that can fix my dam little 115 so I can get back to fishing. I haven't been able to really fish 4 10 or 12 years, so I got an old dixie slingShot 810. But when you start to plane it out, it starts jerking, kind of like a misfire, but it is not 4 times at mechanics every time he says it will go now and then nope I just wand to find I am disabled and just want to fish
Hello Team Marine! I am from Romania and i got a question for you. I watched you`re videos and i like them very much. I have a guest house and now i want to buy a boat,it weights about 700kg. I will load the boat with max 12 people and they`re luggages for transporting trought a lake and reach the seashore, it`s the only way to reach the seashore. I will go by boat every day aprox 1 hour with 12 people. My dealer offers me a 2022 suzuki 250 HP and a Honda 225 HP. I need good fuel consumption and reability, I don't need a very high speed because the road is short. I ask you as a fallower :D Thanks and have a great day!
Both are great outboards that get great fuel economy. We would go with whatever your dealer recommends. If it were up to us we would go with the Suzuki. Hello from the US!

My friend says that mercury rates there HP at the prop and everyone else rates it at the power head/top of motor?? Is this true? If so, doesn't that mean that the Yamahas and Suzuki's are actually overrated as they would have less power at the prop as you lose power through gears??,. Doesn't make sense to me, seems like that would be stupid on yamaha and Suzuki's part to let Mercury get away with that. Would explain though why merc is always thought of as faster..jiThis has been an on going argument with my best friend for like 20 years now. Lol.
They all dyno test hp at the flywheel and they are all underrated! Most 250's are in the 280 hp ballpark! Merc's are seen as faster because have multiple gear case options and the best prop division in the biz. However it all boils down to set up. We can make Suzuki's run with Merc's and with a little time we could make SHO's run with them too. Mercury marine has rode the coat tails of Mercury Racing for years

No reason. You built my exact boat. I've had a 99 221 champion elite for 18 years. Just recovered with 225 sho, 3 helix and a ultrex. I love it.

Impulse Lithium is a great battery as well. I have (2) 36V 40AH Impulse lithium's, wired parallel, with a DC to DC Impulse On The Run Charger.

Try a bay boat if they have em near you. Not as fast but super versatile and stable with raised seating.
