I'm just a foreign casual baseball consumer, so please forgive my ignorance: Why is PNC Park that empty? I noticed that on many highlight clips. Is it because of the local time the game was set? Is it the unimpressive season for the Pirates? Is it the lack of a draw of the opponent? Do baseball teams actually make money with so few spectators? Kind of sad compared to NFL stadiums.
Firstly, the Marlins aren’t very good and aren’t they interesting to watch, and secondly, the Pirates only get a bunch of fans when Paul Skenes pitches

why does the MLB even do afternoon games on a weekday? basically guarantees you're not going to fill the stadium
It’s often done on flyaway days (last game in the series) when the teams need to travel to their next location.
Neither team going to the playoffs. Why waste hard earned money at this point? Unless it's to see future HOFer Paul Skenes.
