So happy I found your channel omg I’m trying to get into film cameras and it’s a little overwhelming to know where to start, reddit scares the shit out of me, and I don’t know what like 98% of the words people use even mean. Thank you for reviewing this and explaining everything!!
I just bought a hi matic 11 super circuit 3 and am excited to experiment. It's been 10 years plus since I've shot film and I was a beginner back then as well. I am excited for all there is to learn and relearn
Self timer works in manual mode only I believe. I have the hi-matic 9. Just freshly CLA'd. 😌 About to put some ilford hp5 in there and shoot my first roll in it!
@@NatashaHerbert What's wrong with it? Mine had an issue where a wire had come off the battery compartment because the old mercury batteries it was designed for would leak and corrode the wiring inside. Had to soldier the wire to the battery compartment. Its an important camera to me because it was my stepdads.
@@josephawatson Nice, glad you were able to revive it. Honestly, didn’t exactly pinpoint what was wrong but when holding down the shutter it wasn’t snapping any pics. So it has some internal issues and getting it fixed would’ve cost so much to repair.
@@NatashaHerbert The bottom plate on mine was fairly easy to remove to look at the battery compartment wiring. from what you described its most likely a wire that has come off. The shutter is powered by the battery. Thanks for showing off yours. these were such beautiful cameras.
@@josephawatson Oooh thanks for the tip. My dad knows how to solder too so maybe he can look it. I also found a cool light meter that needs some wiring work. I’m determined to get it back running. It’s worth a nice price once fixed.

Yay! I’m glad you are getting back into it! Would love to see some shots!
For the self timer you have to swing the lever then hit the timer then click
Also do you have to use a battery for the automatic mode I’m assuming you do?
Picked up one of these at a yard sale with original leather case, the flash unit, a light meter, and all paper work for $15
I've been thinking about picking one of these up for my first rangefinder!
It’s a great beginner rangefinder! You should def get it!
Very nice review! I always enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much Martin for watching!

I have the hi-matic e. its a fully auto exposure but still a good little camera. Takes great sharp pictures.
Mine is actually broken. I’m so sad about it. Now it’s just on the shelf as an antique item.

Hi, can I just change shutter? And not aperture. Or they have to do both for manual
Yes you can change the shutter separately. They both have their own individual dials
How about adding tags to your vids, that might bring in more views. Btw your videos are awsome!
Hey thanks for the suggestion. Yea, i've actually added tags on my videos. I think i just need to be more consistent which i plan to.
