I need to find me a proper bakery... the ones the major grocery stores have tend to nowadays be really *wet*. The again I haven't bought any for a few years because of that. (Actually the second one looks almost how I like mine. Slightly crumbly, slightly dryish. Yummies.)
Someone should combine the best parts of laskiaispulla and Runebergin torttu by carving out some of the middle part of the Runeberg cake and filling it with whipped cream and almond paste.
Niklas Isberg Kiitos tosi paljon for feedback! Sound was a bit of a nightmare for that vid (I also trashed my car on the way to the shoot but that’s another story 😀) Happily, we’ve now nailed sound as you can hear in latest vid 👍 ua-cam.com/video/nVusvCUQAQE/v-deo.html
Very Finnish Problems yes! We were staying with friends in Mikkeli and drove to Porvoo in the snow one year! I remember it vividly. The cakes were sublime and the frozen ice on the embankment by the road looked like blue toothpaste! Coming to Finland in March, can’t wait!
It’s so cute looking, but I have tasted one every year and it’s not good at all, very soft and no taste, only the little topping, the rest of it is rubbish. Expensive tasteless thing 😫👎🏾
Oh no! You must be eating them from the wrong places. When they're done well they're looooovely! Really rich in taste, with super tasty raspberry jam on top. You should check the ones out in Porvoo. They rock!

You should definitely visit Porvoo. Those three were in like a 100 metre radius #winning :)
I find the dry ones better too. They are too sweet if they are moistened with syrup.
They need to be well moistened with punsch.
Actually Runebergs hometown is Pietarsaari. He later moved to Porvoo and died there.
I know, im fun at parties :)
Wow, this is like professional documentary level editing.
Elaini Thanks! It was lots of fun to do 👍
If you live in the DC area, Mikko's (on R St NW) serves them (along with lots of other Finnish goodies)
Yes but sadly it’s only seasonally available
Great bakeries, but where is the coffee with cake ?
lol, i was drinking plenty in-between shots :)
If you buy them in the grocery store make sure to get the Rosten brand. The best ones I've tasted so far.
Great video!, I'm so eager to try it out now! (life was so great before covid, haha)
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed and yeah pre-covid was a ton of fun. Hopefully post-covid will be too

Liked the video but the music was way too loud. Edit it down a notch so the speech is more clear.

Wow! I’ve actually been there and had the cake!
Cool! Have you been to Porvoo and the cafes?

With coffee ! Without is a Finnish problem for sure!
Agree 110% The more caffeine that better 👌😀
Damn that first tort looked amazing but the second one liked a bit dry.
First was beautiful, and second was lovely too. But yeah, a little more crumbly.
Dry cakes have no kick or should I say punch.
Its a nice video but dude. It is Runeberg, not Runenberg.

@@VeryFinnishProblems Unless they are dropped in punsch they don't taste like much. I live in Sweden and I would pretty much kill for one.
