It's a shame so many today have no idea how funny Jack benny or Burns and Allen were.
I had never seen such effortless graceful dancing like by Shakita! Wow! 👏👏👏
Her name is Chiquita, not "Shakita"!
An excellent piece of American history!👏
The exciting DeSoto!!!!!!
I loved seeing Jack Benny and Ed Wynn together. Their contrasting styles made for some great comedy chemistry!
This is two great actors performing comedy the way it aught to be done.
Ed Wynn walked off the intro!!! Lol. Live tv!
Lovely little program ❤️
the lovely jo stafford 40:21
Full colour. Colour TV didn't come into force until 10 years later. When people could afford them and when the networks could afford to film everything in colour!
Networks were broadcasting all-color prime time TV in 1966. Many folks, including my family, had a color TV set in the house before then. I remember what a thrill it was when we got our first color TV.
Another totally great episode with all the Giants oh, too bad there isn't a surviving color tape or Color Kit is scope of this broadcast
What the hell is "KIt is scope"?? Were you trying to say Kinescope?
I don't know @@HansDelbruck53
Jonathan & Darlene Edwards are Weston and Stafford in disguise .
Who told Ed Wynn to walk off the intro shot so quickly
"Well, they've seen my face, let 'em wait a little until they see the REST of me!" ;)
I don't know !
57:00- "Sterling Hayden and Carolyn Jones co-star in 'The Last Man', on 'PLAYHOUSE 90'- next, on the CBS Television Network."
The moon was own by Frank Sinatra
Off your meds again?
I bet cbs has a 2” video of this.
No, they don't- otherwise, you would have seen it at the Paley Center For Media, or UCLA's Television Archive. Most network videotapes were eventually "wiped" for reuse.
In full color? Not exactly.
In full color?
Originally, when it was telecast. Only a black and white kinescope exists of this special.
I DON'T KNOW !!
Jack's close friend, Benny Rubin. He did that "I DUNNO!" routine on his radio and TV shows for years.
Yes Fully Black& White.
So Jack Benny did this show in the off weeks his regular did not air .
His "SHOWER OF STARS" appearances (for Chrysler) were on a monthly basis, between 1955 and '58. At the same time, Jack was on alternate Sundays, for Lucky Strike (through 1959). His schedule was flexible enough so that he could do both.
@@fromthesidelines Thanks. I only recently learned the JB Show was on every other week in the 50s.
Did they lose most of his 1950s shows?
Nope. Some of the kinescopes are locked away in CBS' vaults.
@@fromthesidelines Thank you.
What is WRONG with CBS? I can understand Warner Brothers not releasing their famous detective series of the late 50s and early 60s since they still often lease their broadcast (such as 77 Sunset Strip to Metv just a couple years back). But CBS and Jack Benny who unfortunately most newer generations don't even know lived???????
Acrobatic team
How did jack stay paper thin his whole life?
He exercised.
what happened to the color film
Only the black and white kinescope of this episode exists. No color videotape survives.
