I've watched this team for over 15 years. Its the first time I've watched comfortably and confidently, whether we are up or down in the score, there's this sneaky feeling that no matter what, they will get the W. Its surreal as an Oilers fan. We are seeing the maturing of this roster with less focus on points and offense and truly being a well-rounded squad. Knoblauch deserves a lot of praise, especially after the doubters saying he only got the job because of McDavid.
It was the same thing for the Oilers in the 80s they would be down in a game and you knew they would come back and Win It

We all know Oilers are a high scoring team, but half of this win streak was straight shutdown hockey and both goalies are playing tremendous! And that's exactly what you need in the playoffs 👏 good job boys, can't stop and wont stop!!!

That’s what makes them a great team. You gotta be able to win the low scoring one goal games and that’s what we’ve been doing.
Congratulations on the shutout to Calvin Pickard! This has been a very long and emotional winning streak for me. I would never have thought it would make it this far. I hope we can keep the streak alive to get that league record 18 wins!

I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen an oilers team have great goal scorers combined with good defence and goaltending. It feels awesome to watch
Paul Coffey gets a lot of credit. Ever since he was brought on by the Oilers.
The Oilers have a great team already, they just needed someone like Coffey to come in and organize their defense.

What Edmonton is doing right now is practicing playoff hockey. They arnt winning games 6-5 these days. Defence is what wins cups and it’s great to see them all buying in rn. Let’s keep’er going in Nashville

Gotta give Chicago credit, they came to play, they worked so hard mrazek played great. They weren't the most talented roster to begin with but with all the injuries you have an entire line up of bottom 6 grinders working their butts off. They should be really proud of their effort.
Also, proud of my oilers for not getting frustrated and just grinding out a win.

We may not be scoring a ton of goals, but they boys are continuing to play outstanding defensive hockey and it's paying off. That 2-0 lead felt like much more due to both that and Pickard's excellent goaltending. Congrats to him on the shutout, and congratulations to the Oilers on stretching the streak to 15 games!! Hopefully it will reach 16 on Perry's Oilers debut. Let's go Oilers!!!

Calvin Pickerd? Ok where has this goaltender been? Drafted in 2010? His last big season with Colorado with 50 games played in the 2016-2017 season. He is traded and traded and traded and here he pops up with a monumental shutout and a better sv% then Skinner. This goaltender has played great. Let me remember him as I would Bennington or Brobrovsky. Great game for this goaltender.

Edmonton is really getting scary. Pickard was money again. D played solid. Team is doing exactly what they need to do to win regular season hockey games right now. I hope they can turn it up a notch down the stretch and really become the contender they should be on paper.

Looked like Hyman received a tap while skating towards the empty net but I didn't see anything that screamed penalty.
Been an Oilers fan since 1983. This is a fantastic run but let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
There's a long way tp go and anything can happen. Perry could come in and mess up the whole vibe.
This Oilers team no longer feels like one that trips on itself trying to outscore mistakes anymore. They're more calm, with a proper focus on a full game, not just the PP or just relying on a top heavy line.
D Men are making smart plays, goalies are more collected, bottom six are dangerous. I'm liking this, just maybe a solid win against say, Colorado or Boston and I can definitely relax lol they need to make up for those losses against the 2 Florida teams. Revenge against CAR, beating VGK in the shootout plus this have me about 85 percent convinced.

Yes, he's "crying his eyes out" for not being a good enough coach. It's thanks to the new coach and his improved tactics that the Oilers are now a defensive powerhouse - which is why they are on a 15 game win streak.
Justice for Jay! He also had a great regular season last year and there is still a lot of hockey to play this season. But it seems knoblauch with his staff (Coffey! ) are really on track climbing the hard clips to Mr Stanley successful! The playoffs are near and McDrai played a dynamic game together - 3 points each. That's a promise too for the future of the team.
I still think he’s a good coach, but definitely a bit full of himself… when systems weren’t working earlier this year he doubled down on the systems and not the players. He’ll turn up again someday though I think.

Easy win as one would expect, guess we'll see if the preds shut this down before the all star break or if it'll come down to vegas to block the tie.
Preds are a good road team. In the last 20 days they've won in MIN, LA and DAL twice.
Wasn't long ago some fans thought the coaching change was a bad move.
Let's be honest. What Coffey has done with the oilers defense is amazing, they're engaging making plays AND playing proper positional defense. I give the Coffey for Manson move MUCH more credit.

Ok so here we go! Nashville visits Edmonton with Edmonton rested. The odds favor an Oilers win. That will be #16. Then they go to Vegas. Oh boy what is going to happen in Vegas to try and tie Bostons winning streak of 17. Yes in Vegas is where the streak can end. What a game that will be. I would say the odds would favor Vegas. Lets see. If they can secure wins against Nashville and Vegas then a win against the Ducks will be the tie breaker and a record will be broken. There is a long wait to see before Edmonton visits Vegas. Well rested teams ready to play. One team set to set a new NHL record and the other team to be a spoiler of good things.
