    Sir very nice summary. People suggested whole body damping, below the carpet, etc.
    This is very practical. Thanks 👍

      Hello Tejaswi, I am glad you liked the video. If you put damping sheets on the floor it will reduce the road noise to the max of 20%, the only way to reduce is an investment in soft rubber tyres. You can go with a brand like Michelin. Soft rubber tyres are easy to cut (damage) on bad roads.
      Thank you. :)

  • @ramkripal11
    @ramkripal11 11 місяців тому +3

    To see any significant road noise reduction we must cover the entire floor, engine bay and boot area from beneath. A partial ensulation like this wouldnt give enough insulation.

    • @srizwanashraf

      Obviously the more you invest the better it will be. Apart from damping; silent tyres, quality road and engine condition are also considerable aspects.

      @srizwanashraf  Рік тому

      Hello Amar,
      Hope you are doing great!
      With damping, you cabin is not going to be 100% noise proof. Only 20-30 percent of the noise can be blocked.
      Damping is more of a music thing.
      If the noise in the cabin is road noise, adjust the tyre pressure as per the manufacturer's guidelines, if it is wind check the door rubber gasket and if it is the engine check if the oil is in the good condition.
      Thanks.

      @@eonthebeast2300 few suggestions for switching the head unit.
      1: Procure 1 sheet of damping sheet from the local market, choose a good brand like Blaupunkt and cut it into parts, and paste it under the hood (bonnet) and a few on the firewall. It should reduce the cabin noise from the engine to a good extent. You can feel the difference. This will cost you between 400-700.
      2: Buy 1 box of damping sheets, you will get 5 sheets. enough for the door and bonnet. Damping the doors will increase the quality of bass and vocal. This will cost you 3500 and labor if you can't do it yourself.
      3. Install a bass tube. Proper good brands like Sony or JBL. Don't go with those with inbuilt amplifiers. This will cost you around 15K
      Replacing the Head unit would not be an economically wise decision in my opinion.
      I suggest you go with the first option for now and you would not be disappointed.
      PS: If the engine noise is due to a bad engine or due to some mechanical problem, the methods would not help.

    • @srizwanashraf
      @srizwanashraf  Рік тому +1

      Hello,
      Hope you are doing great!
      For vibration, you can check the engine mount. If you are going for service, consider flushing your engine.
      You can put the damping material on the firewall.
      Check if the hood liner is installed on the bonnet/hood. You can add a damping sheet underneath.
      There must be some loose/suspending part in the dashboard which is causing the noise.
      Damping the doors will only make music better and reduce outside noise by 15-20%, not the engine noise.
      Thanks.

      @@perumalsaravana88
      Let's start with the basis.
      Check the tyre pressure and make sure it is the same as suggested by your car manufacturer.
      If it is only about music, damping alone is not going to help, if you have company fitted speakers you have to upgrade those to Pioneer or Sony coaxial speakers or if you have a budget then go with components.
      For the extra thump, you need to add a subwoofer.
      So if music is the only concern, install a sub and that's it.
      If music and you want to cut down that humming sound while driving, then go with damping and speakers upgrade.
      5 sheets are enough if you want to damp the doors. If you wish to damp the floor as well another 2-3 sheets will be required.

      But I feel the Sony coaxial speaker model Fb693E which one i fixed is over rated. Bcz while driving I can't listen the bass.
      And I don't want fill the boot to fix bass tube from the beginning I am not much interested to fix that one.
      But yes I go with component speaker to get the same.
      For the quite cabin I will fix the damping sheet myself from your guidance

    This guy is giving a lot of misinformation. Damping for doors HAS to 100 percent to get the full music and if you do just here and there like he says, you wont get best results. Thsts exactly why he says his music quality has increased only a little bit bec. thats wat lil bit damping would do. The concept behind door damping is to create an additional layer of sound proof material all around to get that speaker box effect to make your speakers sound the best. So damping is an expensive process and you either do it properly or you dont. Cost cutting there will not give you desired results.

    • @srizwanashraf
      @srizwanashraf  4 місяці тому +1

      Hello Rajesh,
      Hope you are doing great! Thank you for your comment, I appreciate your feedback on this.
      Also, I would like to add a couple of points to it.
      Please note, adding a layer of butyl sheet (damping material) will only reduce (a little) the humming noise caused by the vibration of the metal sheet, there are different sound proofing materials available (that will cut/reduce sound of different frequency) which has to be use along with the butyl sheet. After doing all that you see good difference when the car is idle and engine is not running. That is the reason we increase the volume while driving.
      But when the car is running it is a different case all together because you can not cut the friction between the road and the tires, friction produces vibration and vibration cause the noise we experience as NVH.
      Apart from damping, there are other aspects which can help in reducing the NVH levels, tire quality, engine quality, vehicle age etc.
      Find me one UA-cam video that shows drastic difference in NVH level with damping, before and after, using a sound/audio meter and I will take this video down.

    • @rajeshr8121
      @rajeshr8121 4 місяці тому

      @srizwanashraf My perspective was with regards to door damping only, which is done primarily for enhancing the audio quality and most do door damping for this purpose. You have said in your video that it's not necessary to fully dampen the doors which is what is what I disagree totally. I have done my full door damping with high quality damping sheets and my friend has done like here and there damping for his doors with the same speakers fitted and brand of sheets. I have seen the difference was very obvious in the way the speakers sounded and mine was way better than his in terms of audio quality.... So I can confidently say bits and pieces door damping won't work and give the required full results of damping.
