Primary antagonist in CHILD’S PLAY franchise, Chucky was originally a serial killer named Charles Lee Ray. He was chased down by the police and got shot. Before he die, Charles had entered toy store and found a Good Guy doll. He then used a voodoo spell with Amulet of Damballa to transferred his soul into the doll. The spell has worked, the doll became alive with Charles’ soul inside of it, and uses the name of Chucky. Despite his small size, Chucky has the strength of a grown man.
But the long he is in the doll, the more he becomes like a human, has a heart, blood, and can be killed. His former Voodoo instructor explains that Chucky must transfer his soul back into a human, otherwise his soul would stuck in the doll forever. Many times Charles (Chucky) tried to get a new living body, but always foiled and defeated by the main characters in previous films. But in his later life, he gave up on this and decided to live up to the infamy of being a killer doll, all while cutting the ties of anyone who betrayed him.
