Whelen Advantedge

- This is my newest renovation, and contains a lot of "firsts" for me. This is a Whelen Advantedge- a company primarily known for their old-school strobe bars. This bar contains a little bit of everything- four independent halogen rotators, two halogen flashers, two white strobes using a fast piercer strobe pack, and two LED flashers. I made some custom mounting brackets inside the bar to hold the flashers in place. This is the first bar that I've ever cut the lenses- taking it from the original single-lens to 3 separate sections per color, with the addition of the spacers. I also cut out the window in the black center section, mounted the clear lens and custom strobe heads behind it. Im pretty proud of how this came out. I REALLY wish I had taken a "before" picture... It originally one had 4 rotators, and that was it. I hope you enjoy! Please don't forget to subscribe!!

Beautiful bar, this was actually one of my first bars I started my collection with until it and a few others were stolen, been rebuilding every since
OH man, that sucks that you had some stolen. I'm glad you are building it back up. Thanks for watching!!
Adam Ogden, you bet. I started watching your videos about 1.5 years ago and started looking around finding some and decided to start my collection. After my first 4, I started showcasing my collection one at a time.
Good to see you uploading again, great bar. Also Merry Christmas!
Thanks, and the same to you! I've got a couple other unseen bars still, I am hoping to get those published soon too! Thanks for watching!
Adam Ogden I actually used to mistake these for Whelen Engineering's 9000 series strobe bars
Many people do the same thing. I like finding these unique bars. When you think Whelen, you certainly don't think old-school rotator... so I am really glad i was able to bring this one back to life.
Wait so the bar didn’t have all these features from the factory right? Only the rotators?
Correct. It had the lower flashers that were strobes I think, but I changed them to LED.
@@AdamsLights ok, thanks
I always wanted to do this with a regular Edge but I still haven't gotten my hands on one. I just got too much going on to buy one. If I find one laying around, It's goin down ya'll!
Awesome!
Probably NEVER!!! XD
I like the rotators.
I agree! Thanks for watching!
That thing is sweet.
Thanks, it's probably one of my favorites!
How much do you want for the light Bar
Sorry, but as noted on the homepage of my channel, none of my bars are for sale. Thanks for watching though!
very cool‼️
Thanks a lot! Be sure to subscribe to the channel for more bars in the future!
Pretty cool
Thanks! Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already!
Adam Ogden you must have a pretty big collection, because I could not even have one of those huge things
Adam Ogden did you put in the LED's on the bottom, because I would be sure that those would be incandescent.
Haha, I have right at about 30 bars on the wall now, and another 4-5 on the floor waiting to be refurbished! Be sure to check out my Lightbar Collection Volume II video to see most of the bars in action!
I did- the small lights at the feet are LED bulbs, while the flashers directly above them are incandescent.... I've got rotators, flashers, LEDs, and strobes all in one bar!! :)
I'm trying to find one for myself. Needle in a haystack. Anyone has one in good shape, please advise...
Definitely hard to find.... just keep looking, you'll track it down!
Hey man, check this out. I use your videos for reference in making ELS rotator lightbars for GTA. I've made quite a few lightbars thanks to your videos. The video linked is just one lightbar I've made. I had to completely remodel a Whelen 9000 and converted it to an Advantedge. There is still some work to be done on it, but I think it's close to what you've got in the video. Figuring out the rotation timing is the hard part. Especially seeing how I don't know the actual timing on your lightbar. Lol! But it works. I've also worked on an MX7000, an LP6000, and a few others. Thanks for the great content and I look forward to any other videos you come out with. Here is the link:

Dude, that is DOPE! I may have to get into GTA now... that's awesome.
@@AdamsLights Thanks man. I haven't uploaded that car just yet. It's still a work in progress. But I do have others uploaded to lcpdfr.com. There is one pack with a 95 tahoe with an all blue advantedge. But, once I'm done with what I need to do with the base model lightbar, I will update the Tahoe. I've got packs with the mx7000, streethawks, and a few others. Check it out, if you want. Lol! I've been working on a twin sonic also, but I'm not real satisfied with the way it turned out. So, I've been working on that too. Check out that site. It's got all kinds of stuff on there if you do get into it. Looking forward to your next lightbar for your collection.
I have a strobe Whelen Towmans edge on my wrecker at work. It's a four corner with rear halogen flashers. I really like the way this style looks with rotators though! Mine is at UA-cam.com/watch?v=_OqkPTgntk4
That's cool! You gotta love the sound of the strobe power supplies!
Adam Ogden I have to listen to it mon- fri lol
I've been trying to figure out for the longest time how to alter the strobe pattern, but all of the diagrams I find don't match the control board.
I honestly do know the answer to that. I only have one basic 9000-model bar- and I've never tried to change the pattern. I have a duplex 9000 bar that changes the pattern by applying power to one of the wires in the loom, but I honestly don't know if base-model 9000 bars have that feature.
It's hard to tell. I likely have a Base bar. I know the boss has a 9m that looks identical to mine, but he has a different switch board and his pattern changes when you turn on the halogen flashers.
