I find that the current reformulation lacks the richness and depth of the original. The new version smells like SweeTarts candy and air freshener. Not great. I enjoyed your review, though. 🌺
Joop homme is a nice fragrance. I can’t believe many are comparing it to cough syrup.

I bought the HUGE bottle only cause my Ex loves it. Definitely lasts many hours.
You absolutely nailed it. Joop was a powerhouse fragrance in the 80's. I found it sickly sweet, and didn't gravitate towards it. On the flipside though they have come along in leaps and bounds with their other fragrances.

You earned my subscription based on this eloquent and thoughtful review! I'm 53 now and in my mid-20s I discovered Joop and it has been my "guilty pleasure" scent ever since. Around that time, CK One was marketed as a unisex fragrance, but I always thought that Joop was a better choice for that title. It wasn't heavily musky like most men's cologne, and it had a different vibe than the "fresh" colognes that were coming out (e.g. Cool Water). The only drawback then was that a lot of people were wearing it, especially at parties or clubs. But now, with the passage of time, it seems to have been nearly forgotten so that when I do wear it, it has a novelty effect so to speak in people asking me what I'm wearing. I also think how one wears it makes a huge difference. With Joop, one squirt is all you need, as its projection and performance are legendary! Keep up the great work!

Loved the 80s! Great time in history for fragrance, music and fashion. I'm glad to have lived through those days :) Joop was one of my favorites when it came out. I need to get another bottle.
