Bro Fern, nu'ng 80s natatandaan ko part ng work ko as field inspector ng Presto ice cream inuumpisahan ko s SM derecho walk ko nyan hangang Makati supermarket at pasikot-sikot sa Anson's tapos babalik ako s Rustans then derecho sa bandang Makati medical center. Naalala ko habang pkita mo old pictures. Nowadays dko p napupuntahan yang kahabaan nyan pihadong hahaba leeg ko sa magandang pgbbago ❤ yung chapel buti naiwan, dati tanda ko meron malaking aviary dyan n maski minsan dko npasok, wala p yung mga lakaran sa itaas nag iikot nko dyan sa Greenbelt,. ibang iba na talaga.🎉 Grabe ganda ng underpass

Salamat po Sir Fern sa pasyal sa Ayala Ctr. It was my 2nd home for 20 yrs (during the time m still working there) :) nakaka miss din.. ang di lang nakaka miss ung traffic hehehehe but all in all, masaya mag work sa Makati. I feel safer compare sa ibang place na pinag work-an ko hehehehe 😂 masaya mag lakad sa walkway & u will be able to stroll na all the malls around the "ayala ctr." Kasi nga nakaka aliw din & basically its one way of physical exercise na rin talaga ❤❤❤

ang ganda ng documentary mo, 'igan!...detalyadong-detalyado...sa katulad kong sa ibang bansa na naninirahan since the 80's, nakakalula ang naging pagbabago ng Makait commercial Center. Napakaganda na!...tambayan namin noong nasa college pa ako...Pacific Plaza pa ang pinakamataas na building sa Ayala Avenue..ngayon, sangkatutak na ang skyscrapers!

Hotel Nikko Manila Garden, Dyan ako nag JS Prom noong 1995. Until now yung program ng JS Prom na naka name sa Hotel ay na preserved ko pa. Nakaka youth naman sa isipan ang episode mo. ❤

Shangri La Hotel is One Fine And Pleasant..
This is a fine example of when you said you would shift away from old heritage houses every now and then. And it was good timing since I needed to see how much Makati has changed. Speaking of Ayala, it's a shame you can't visit their family's ancestral home/mansion along Roxas Boulevard. It was torn down a while ago and I'm sure something else is now in its place.

Right on the corner of Roxas Boulevard and Padre Faura street, directly across the U.S. Embassy compound. Oh you would've loved the mansion. It was designed in the same French Renaissance style as the Luneta Hotel. Built before WW2. I discovered it by accident years ago and I wondered why an elegant European building sat abandoned surrounded by street dwellers and grimy jeepneys. This was before Roxas Boulevard got cleaned up. I guess being demolished finally freed it from its misery.
So much memories in the old Makati Center😊 There was a Lovebus station in front of Rustan’s , where we get the buses going back home in QC. Baka Hindi ka pa pinapanganak nuon, lol😀your vlogs really make us travel the memory lane

Greenbelt 3 is still the same Greenbelt 3 inside and out as to how it was built 20 years ago. Naalala ko pa na ginagalugad namin siya ng barkada ko habang kaliwat kanan ang full blast constru ng mga resto sa taas, haha! Wala siyang pagbabago, mga shops lang nagpalitan (at yung tiles sa baba na dating stamped concrete, lol). Napaka future-ready lang talaga ng pagkakadesign kaya mukha pa ring modern hanggang ngaun. While G1 was for mid class shops and G2 was fusion kainan, G3 was dedicated naman for high-end shops with alfresco dining sa taas intended for gimikan. And then G4 followed suit with high-end shops while G5 naman is mostly Filipino designers. And then there's the 6750 na mga taga Forbes Park lang ata ang kliyente mahihiya kang pumasok, lol.
Sana wag nila gibain ang Glorietta park kasi jan ako unang nakakita ng visual appearance ng mga dolphins, haha! Tas iretain sana nila yung yosi area sa may tuktok ng Glorietta 4 sa may SB. Grabe ang tanda ko na, haha! Pero I felt good reminiscing those good old days!
Nagiging threat rin sa mga existing na sinehan ang online streams(netflix)HBO+, paramount Disney and etc

Noon -- sa Escolta pa ang bukod tanging "SM ni Henry Sy" umunlad po ito hangang sa may dulo na po Pasay, May COD malapit sa Rustan bilihan ng mga may kaya noon, pero iba tlga ang panahon gumganda po sya hinde na pigil -- Quad noon pasyalan sya noon eh at umunlad kasama na dumami pa tulad greenbelt Makati tsk tlaga naman 😉 Ngayon -- hinde gawa ang train sa subways nyan huh tunay hinde mapipigil ang pag unlad ng P'nas ✨🌟

Haay Fern, this brought back so many wonderful memories ❤❤❤. Rizal Theatre was a go to place..dito ko napanood ang movie "The Last Emperor" umiyak kami ng mga classmates ko nung na demolish yan 😢. Makati Supermarket has the best spaghetti with toasted bread tapos banana split for dessert 🤤. Haay naku kung maibabalik lang ang childhood days😅😅😅 it's not the same as the present I swear. Shopping place ng Mother ko ang Rustan's 👍👍👍 grade school dyan ko nakasabay si Madame First Lady Imelda Marcos sa loob ng elevator hindi ako nakapagsalita natulala ako pati classmate ko🤣😂🤣😂. Hindi namin alam na pina close yun buong department store dahil nandoon nga siya. Quad/Glorietta naku dyan ang tambayan after school maiiwanan na ng school bus 😂😂😂.

Dusit Thani used to be Manila Garden Hotel and was losing money so it was bought by Development Bank of the Philippines way back 80’s. Dyan ako noon nag-practicum. It was run by Japanese executives. I’m surprised it’s name was changed to Dusit Thani and most likely bought by another company. Hope you can also feature Okada Resort and Casino Hotel if you have the time.
