The justice system will ALWAYS be and has ALWAYS been classist. This guy got a break because he`s a yuppie WASP and the justice system protects and does not penalize the rich. If this same hit-n-run had been done by a poor person, u KNOW they would immediatetly get the maximum penalty applicable.

This D,A, has got to go. 6 months and 2 years probation? And he killed a 16 year old in a crosswalk?!?!?!?!? I got 5 months in lock up with 3 years probation, for assault WITH INTENT TO cause bodily harm. No injuries from my side. Insanity, smh.

I'm in Banning so we don't have Gascon but you hear about these injustices all the time because of Gascon. He's a democratic liberal pos and as long as people in this state keep voting the same way, they're gonna keep getting exactly what they voted for. I heard of a recall of him a year ago but guess it didn't get enough votes somehow. All I can think of then is money from the state must be going to him, Newsome and the like to keep them in office

@@iMatti00 I do kind of, but it depends on the circumstances, like if he hit this kid out of not being able to see him or if he suddenly had a medical emergency that wasnout of his control and caused him to have an accident..but not out of complete negligence like being under the influence of anything like this case. This guy should have gotten a lot longer sentence

I did 8 months in state prison for carrying a broken xacto knife in my pocket. A Ladycop with an inferiority complex knew I was on probation and would stop and harass me multiple times a day everyday for weeks, busting me on personal drugs or whatever.
I've been clean 12 years now and I'm still suffering the consequences of LAPD harassment.

Hey, remember the 1st time Trump`s ex-attorney went after Epstein? The sentence Epstein got was ridiculous and the very reason he got such a lenient sentence was that he was a powerful yuppie Jew and the reality is that our justice system is classist. It favors the yuppie classes and many times defense lawyers will actually bring something like what "upstanding citizens" they are and the judges will let them get away with a handslap sentences. It`s always been like that.

I’m glad we have a genius in the comment section. I’ve seen plenty of times where people get hard sentences or lenient sentences. Sometimes the rich sometimes are poor. But of course if you always look for evidence to point you to what you already believe, that’s usually what you’re gonna find.

the kid probably ran into the crosswalk, i see college kids do it all the time, seen several on bikes get hit by cars, or ride into cars, because they don't stop and dismount bikes at the intersection. the drives don't see them speeding into the intersection
