Huge win, hopefully we can build on it next week against a decent Memphis team and then take down Vandy on the road setting up a huge clash with LSU in a couple weeks. I'll be at the next two games cheering on the boys, MIZ!!!
I’m NOT an Eli fan. BUT the fact he called out Mizzou’s typical “ride-the-coat-tail” fan base for F’n booing the starting QB. I played college baseball & you don’t bust your butt day in/day out to have NON-athletes booing a college player👎 Way to speak up coach👏👏👏
I haven’t seen his name on most of the hot seat watches, but that doesn’t mean he’s secure. They should be a little further along than they’ve shown, still some bad penalties and inexcusable delay of game but it didn’t matter. Heck of a ball game. Great performance by Missouri. Hopefully they can keep the performance up against Memphis and on. SEC is not top to bottom nearly as strong there’s an opening for some wins!
I know one thing, I support Drink because he is a good recruiter. But if Mevis had been two yards short on that kick snd Tigers lose in OT, he would be in big trouble. That can’t happen. 15 coaches over there and not one knew what was going on.
@@johnparker8588 I agree with you. That was an inexcusable penalty. You absolutely positively CANNOT take a delay of game penalty in that situation. Hopefully they learn from that. They were extremely fortunate MEVIS nailed that kick. There are not very many kickers in the country that could have done that. Really glad he made it.
@@TheCgraham18 Funny thing is, even if Mevis had missed from 61 yards, he was going to get another shot at it from 56 yards. KSU had two players with the #8 on the field at the same time.
Brady Cook had a great game. His best i believe. In the past he was very pedestrian and that is why not everyone is behind him. So don’t be ugly in your press conference!
He got so offended when asked about Brady Cook and then corrected HIMSELF as he started to say he's a great football player. "He's a grr...good football player." 😂
he has the right to be offended...he's the head coach, see his players every day, has to make decisions that most fans have no clue about and don't have the skill set or experience to really understand what's going on...most fans don't care about anything except the w, they are shallow in that way. coaches defend their players and their decisions. everyone knows fans look to the backup qb like the grass is greener.
@fierce-green-fire8887 Oh, I actually agree with you 100%. I'd never boo a player, and I think it's great that he defended him that way. I was merely pointing out that it seemed like he started to say "great" QB but corrected himself to "good". I found humor in that.
@@MizzouRah78I'm not disagreeing with you either...just adding to your comment. But you have sharp ears to catch that tiny stutter I had to go back and play it a few times and you're right...and it is kinda funny...correcting himself to make sure his emotions didn't cause him to embellish.
I am tired of Drink complaining about criticism of Cook. College football is a billion dollar business that brings in millions for the university. We long since dismissed the notion players are there for an education. It's a business. That means players especially QBs will be criticized. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.
This is 100% my position as well. Long gone are the days of "These are just kids trying to get an education and not professionals." Well, these days they get an extra stipend on top of their scholarship and can be earning hundreds of thousands of dollars on NIL deals. They are more or less professionals now.
Funny that he joked about that penalty to make the kick more "dramatic" when it probably should have cost us the game. Imagine if that kick is a yard short from making it and KSU beats us in OT...
I'm not gonna defend drink from that penalty. It probably would have put him on the hot seat. BUT like he said if mevis missed that they would try again from 5 yards up because they had two of the same number on the field. Now if he misses both of them I think he still is in deep shit.
why would you spend time wanting to imagine that when you can live the reality of having just beaten a ranked opponent in the program's first signature win. wins like this can be transforming for a coach and a program trying to get traction having not really gotten any to this point. jeez.

Kansas State crapped it's pants again. It should never never have come down to a field goal. Mizzou was motivated and wanted this game bad and got the W. Time to refocus and compete for Big 12 title
When you win a tight game you can learn a lot about a teams character. This may be a turning point for this team.

This win I think saved Drinkwitzs job
8-4 with a bowl win is going to save his job. Not a win at home in mid september

MIZ great win
We may not be able to keep Drink forever. This is a tough league and schedule. I hope the Tigers can have a memorable season.

The delay of game penalty was embarrassing. Total breakdown on sideline. He glossed over it. Bonehead don’t cover it.
and this is the type of game Mizzou would typically lose and they didn't lose. They won against a tough K-state so celebrate a huge win!
How long was Drinkwitz supposed to self-flagellate to make you satisfied? Sheezus.

You're right. Mizzou should've won going away. But thanks to a fluke deflected pass TD and a missed FG by Mevis, KSU managed to hang around.
