Great to see you playing this I backed this sometime ago and by the looks of it the Kickstarter is going great so hyped to see this make the light of day.
How dare you only give us only an hour and twenty minutes of this. I hope there is another 6 episodes ready to be dropped. Then I guess I will have to wait for Q3 for this. Looks like one of those games that I will probably have to purchase and be more than just a spectator.
@@CharliePryor It says on the kickstarter that backers who want to play the beta version (which i assume is the version in this video?) ......Lunar Adventurer tier i think, that it wont be available to backers until June. Is this still the case or if i back the game at this tier i can get access to the beta now?
For the research if your first research does not use all tree of the different types (or that type is already full) it will start on the next research with that type so you can teoreticaly have multiple researches at the same time
Trying to confirm what you’re saying… if my research uses orange, and the next one on the list uses green, are you saying they are both happening at the same time?
@@CharliePryor From my understanding (from other gameplays) yes that's the case even if the first one uses green is the 5th it will happen at the same time. this is also why you had the research "boost" with the landing platform (1:07:13)
This is true. Was gonna comment that research from different trees can occur simultaneously if the preceding tech in the queue isn't using it. Example - if current research only uses blue, then if you have a queued research that uses blue and green, the green research will accrue until there is blue available. Hope that clarifies Charlie.
Great video playthrough of the beginning of this. Definitely interested in seeing the continuation of this as you build out the living quarters and the smart concrete machine.
i remember few mounts ago, you hade a limited time trial, happy to see its back! there many things i love with it, how tutorial blends in with story line. great transition. i love how eazy and clean it is, like resources bares and options are not in the way, how you can hover and get a info. pop up and not need to click or go search for it. Tech tree very clean and understandable, it even as a cool back round with the color of the tech. but the best thing i love is your comment about AM ALL ABOUT STRAIT LINES NOW! i was chugging a redbull and almost made a mess. haha. As always presented to us in a entertaning way. thank you.
That description about the tutorial and the beginning of the story separated from the main content providing a more "hit the ground n go" sounds great to me. So many games would be such a better experience for replaying if they didn't have the first hour plus of forcing you to go back to step one and put up with "this is how to move and jump and build and use things" with no option to just get on with it 😊
Give it a video for context. No hand holding steps to set up a base that’s going to be destroyed anyways. Just a quick video that gets the context in there. Simple. And “hold space bar to skip” on that. Done.
Ever since I played the demo like half a year ago, I knew right away that I needed to support them on kickstarter and got the earliest possible copy. It is the only game I've ever supported! This is the type of game I was waiting for!
Ooh awesome. Okay so kudos on this. I am looking forward to many many episodes! Thanks for doing it. Comments at the start. I watched the demo. They clearly changed and added certain things. Alice is clear cut on Earth. We, the Director, is on the station. Our 'forces' on the Moon at the start are robots and survived cause they were underground. Roberts (RIP I guess) and his people were in the surface base. This is all logical, but it wasn't clear cut like this in the demo. So yeah, this is awesome. Okay. Back to watching the video!
Cool concept, One thing that is a bit odd is how you can excavate underground without supporting the ground above, you'd think you would need to have to make support structures/pillars, would be cool if you could drill above ground to search for resources then dig underground but have it consume resources so you can't excavate to infinity underground. Make resources hard to find and spaced further apart all over the moon, then have transportation between bases using ships and conveyor systems or roads if you have the resources to build it.
Could easily add a foot “plate” to the base of power towers underground, and imagine an unseen ceiling plate, so the power poles hold up the vault ceilings. #EasyButton. Although requiring +1 or +2 resource needed would be fair, for the underground poles.
Thank you for making a Video of that game. I looked it up and saw that it releases later this week into early-access. I would not have found it without your very nicely made video. The game is now on my wishlist and you got another subscriber - looking forward to playing crust myself and hopefully see more videos about it from you.
I was wondering why this got recommended to me all the time. Now i get it, it's an amalgamation of all the good stuff i watch on this here platform.^^ Thanks, good Sir. It's indeed a brilliant game. 👍👍👍
Really excited to play this game when it comes out. Backed it on the kickstarter they have going as soon as it launched. Hope they live up to what they're saying they're going to do. Thanks for the video at the very least.
I think I am definitely going to go back this. This looks like a game that has huge potential for future expansion. A Mars version would be interesting.
I will say that it doesn't look like an asteroid strike that hit the moon as you don't see anything coming towards it and it's too clean. The same thing happens in the cinematic trailer for this game where they have the impact shown but prefaced with the comment that it's a secret what happened Considering that there's a combat update for this game, I think it was on purpose
I was worried about your Infected Free Zone series getting slowed down because you were adding a new game, but I've been keeping my eyes on this game too, so win-win for me I guess! I, btw, live in Michigan where the Temp was warm a couple weeks ago and then got 7" of snow. My daughter's jaw dropped when we saw/heard you possibly lived close-ish, we watch a lot of your videos together.
I really enjoyed the demo and I'm looking forward to the full release. Like you said in the intro, it's a fun game that incorporates a lot of elements to make a good base builder.
So its Sim City..the Moon. Doesnt matter if the asteroid hits or not..your just listening to VA's giving storylines as your setting up manufacturing processes. I'm sure this will be a hit for people into that kinda thing.
Bob the Builder!? - ROFLMAO. OMG I almost spit my coffee at the computer. Thank you for showing this. It looks really fun, and more complete then a lot of EA games. I like the dev's sense of humor already. (subscribed)
Oh hohoho space games are quite a nice genre for me KSP though I forgot for a bit eh that's because I like to read a lot oh well this is interesting also I'm at the start might edit soon.
At around 6000 miles, it would take 100 hours at 60mph to go all the way around the moon. But due to the low gravity and lack of atmosphere reaching 60mph in a truck would be very dangerous even assuming we built a perfectly flat highway around the moon. A high speed train would make the most sense, no atmosphere means no wind resistance, so a train could reach higher speeds than on earth. The low gravity would also make fixed rails much safer than tyres and the weight of trains wouldn't be as much of a disadvantage to energy transferal efficiency as it is here.
yes i known of this game for long time. that said this is best well rounded explaination of it i have seen. but i cant fault anyone if they not played it either. and i know info been limited. also takes someone like u to have played those other games to help explain it. suits is imo great tv show overal... season 4-5 the kid gets very preachy..... but they do tone it down again next seasons thankfully lol.......
At first i was like: Oh, no, there's a lot of people that need to be rescued! but the game was like: you have 9 months to get to them to save them. So i was like, oh, no worries then, earth will have enough time to save them in that time.
Pretty sure a space elevator would be composed of completely vertical elements. Those regular rings serve no purpose and seem heavier than the actual vertical tension cable.
xD Crust has given us all the science, but remember to redo all the research that we already have. also why did the bots survive? Also Aluminium not alimunun xD
This is a massive meteor impacting the surface at high speeds. The atmosphere is not very important in such explosions. The blast effects are not created by the atmosphere, but by the rapid expansion of the material that is being drastically rapidly heated. This is why the crater forms in the first place. The expansion of the material involved in the explosion is negligibly affected by the air.
@@CharliePryor I think the craters form because something fast and heavy hit a surface that displaces material out of the way. Like throwing a heavy object into a sandbox. The spray of material isn't caused by gas expansion. And yeah some of the rock would be vaporized that's not the mechanism behind crater formations. You don't get billowing of clouds without an atmosphere. Both the rovers earlier and the shot of the impact had billowing clouds. That's just wrong, but makes sense if you are using off the self software to generate the effect. I don't think anyone has a ballistic dust simulation to use. If you have seen any of the moon rover footage they throw up rooster tails of dust that falls back at a speed that seems wrong. One part lower gravity 2 parts no atmosphere to slow the fine particles. Although it is nice that some of the orbital structures got hit. The impact would be throwing at least a few rocks out well above the escape velocity of the moon, with a smaller subset going into highly eccentric orbits until smashing down into the moon surface at extremely high velocities.
Any solar power heavy operation would be done on the far side of the moon and have a satellite relay in orbit. No Earth shade, nice steady sun for half a day!
And no atmosphere so a big explosion would only cause a moonquake a dust cloud. Zero shock wave and without a molten mantel the violence of a moon quake is minimal as the whole moon would move as one basically.
The game play of this looks great, but the corporate attitude permeates like a bad smell. Maybe that was what they were going for. I hope it turns out that the explosion was caused by greed, mismanagement, and corruption instead of natural disaster. It's just more real.
It's a game in early development. Final release has voice actors. See the end of my series (video 5) for a detailed explanation on why this is a good thing
