Accidents happen on all railroads. Norfolk Southern is at the center of scrutiny because of their negligence in the East Palestine derailment. All railroads are negligent in one way or the other. They just have not yet been crucified like Norfolk Southern.
Cut backs, huge profits, no investing in repairs of 1900 year old parts still operating on these trains with 30% of employees gone replaced with technology just leaving one man to blow the horn and the technology does not pick up everything a person would.
It seems to be a common goal for these major railroads, of their total earnings, they (or it is with the speculators on Wall Street, pushing it) are basically seeking 60% operating expenses and 40% profit. I am quite sure that these upper management personnel are doing all that they can do to satisfy these demands. From my previous readings (from commentators, in a popular railroading magazine) I have noted this the 60/40 split is not easily met. (It would seem that "those in control" are not happy with any 70/30% split, or even a 65/35% split, pressuring those in the upper management class to basically "cut corners" wherever possible).
Never thought trains would mess up with nature and people so much. Kind of had a feeling trains would be reliable and safe. Thank Norfolk Southern for letting me to see that is not the case.
ok so this is NOT the railroad's fault. the dump truck driver did not yield to the train which always has the right of way. Sympathies to the family of the conductor.

The latest is let us "break it all down for you...".
So did the truck did on purpose wtf
My heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the gentleman who lost his life in this incident , my prayers are with you !
Very Suspicious……
I had a ancestor died in a Railroad accident back in 1947 in Axeman, Pa
RIP 🙏🌹 from France 🇫🇷
Just one thing after another with this train company in Ohio - what the heck is going on?
He's silent now.... exactly what they wanted
🤦🏻♀️
and another idiot
It helps if you report things correctly instead of naming false statements to get viewers.
They Do Not want anyone taking pics or poking around E. Palastine at all if possible.
Never thought trains would mess up with nature and people so much. Kind of had a feeling trains would be reliable and safe. Thank Norfolk Southern for letting me to see that is not the case.
NS is done.
You can be sure this was planned too
Tragic incident. RIP to the gentleman and condolences to his family and friends.
So now cleanup happens, even after they were told it was okay to go home. Someone needs to answer for this!
ok so this is NOT the railroad's fault. the dump truck driver did not yield to the train which always has the right of way. Sympathies to the family of the conductor.
Wow t
Snd they r still doing it and getting away with it? Government officials should be ashamed of themselves. This repulsive.
There’s a wide chasm between the events in East Palestine and this Cleveland accident. In the Cleveland accident a truck hit a train, killing the conductor (RIP). Should we not investigate the trucking company? How do they hire? Or, was the truck driver tired? What the NS conductor in Cleveland did was SOP.
By design 😔
Seem strange... The rail union said they wanted to go out on strike last December and didn't, and just a short time later all these "accidents". 🤔
@@x_yinzer_79N there were accidents before. You just weren’t paying attention.
Don't Worry. I'm sure Pête Buttigieg will get to the "bottom" òf this.
Captain Astro-glide is either nursing or fishing for the elusive brown trout.....
This happened a week ago why is this just coming to my phone now?
He was probably the conductor on the east Palestine train
It doesn’t work that way. But nice try.
Makes you wonder if that conductor knew too much and had a convenient "accident"....
Sounds like the saboteurs are attacking the rail lines in Ohio. Why else are these accidents only in Ohio?
Not sabotage. Please use facts.
They just had one in Alabama and it was the same company that derailed here in Ohio
They'll investigate, do little or nothing or shut down services so we can't get food or supplies.
The truck runs into the train, so now the railroad is under investigation?
Likely Dump Truck Driver At Fault
Why do Vehicles of ALL Kinds Insist on either Parking over an RX Crossing or Not Pay Attention when Approaching an RX Crossing ? Absolutely Clueless! 🤪👎
@CinemaShogun This is tragic
Where’s Brandon ?🤔
The true president has made an appearance to those affected.
In Ukraine giving away our money!
Northfolk is obviously lacking all basic safety logical constructs.
Northfolk shows all indication of having an extremely dangerous and pervasive extremely high risk culture.
They require full auditing due to displaying indicators pointing to untenable levels of risk (which means potential massive devaluation of U.S. assets).
It's starting to sound like Norfolk southern has not only a maintenance issue, but also a safety enforcement issue 😞
I remember being shocked and my parents were asking me what the hell I was watching when I was watching someone else’s video on this crash
Blatant insurance fraud
Condolences to the bereaved and disaffected
Nothing to see here.....
This makes 7 total in little more then a month
The communication issue had to be a bone of contention that was swept under the rug.
It may be time to pull in workers on the ground, get an accurate perspective, and make the necessary changes.
You can’t put a band aide on an open wound and have a good result. It’s only going to bleed out money and more importantly lives.
I've had coworkers killed in this exact fashion. Even during daylight hours!
Hardly the railroads fault. The train ALWAYS has the right of way! ALWAYS.
Wow . They are criminals
Everybody still think it’s all a coincidence? Yea? Ok 👍🏻
Worst company in America.
Actually not true.
@@heretojudgethebooty The psychopathic management hates unions, labor and regulations. They bribe politicians with campaign donations and hire lobbyists to gut safety rules. They do as little as possible for people when they have a disaster. It’s the most technically backward railroad in America. They are still fighting the better electrical braking system. They have dangerously long trains with minimal people and want to make that even worse. N & S is an old world, robber baron company. Denying that reality, along with more accidents is exactly what we should expect from them. They just had another one. Diesel fuel leaked into a creek. More will follow.
@@jerrypolverino6025 should we have conrail come back
Atlas Shrugged
Definitly the trucks fault
Ridiculous; Media hype in action. This was NOT the fault of the NS employee or the Railway. It was the fault of the truck driver getting too close to the train. Come on guys. May Mr. Shuster Rest in Peace.
Yep, it's a media hype to bash Norfolk Southern. It's sad that people kind of don't care about Operation Lifesaver on the number of times they say at crossings. It's just getting way out of hand.
Oh no.
...so your reporting the most awefull things that can happen concerning Railroad tracks and safety NEXT TO a Railroad track with a hot rail? Wow your smart..l
