This was really REALLY well done. I love the videos that reach out to the masses just wondering how to start. Studio One and PreSonus gear may seem like a lot to take in at once. But the underlying focus is to create what beginners can find a place to start with. Master the "First Step". Once that is done the tricky stuff can be later. And yet - once you have your start - S1 can stay with you to the top ranks.
I just got realy catched by your vocals. Thanks for all the great help. Your videos always help me when I am struggling with studio one and often put a smile on me. Hi from Switzerland
This was very helpful, thank you. I just installed Studio One yesterday, and yes, I'm spending most of my time scratching my head, trying to figure out which does what. Your video was a step in the right direction. 👍😏
Boy, am I glad I found you. This was a fantastic video. NOW please share how I can load a song from another source onto my studio one 6 so I can play along with it on my kit. Thanks in advance.
Good day, Please I am recording a single track on a beat track. I am only exporting my audio recording to be sent to my producer. The tempo of the beat is 135, 48Khz and 64bit rate. I set all these on my export settings and even before I started recording. When I play back my audio everything is fine but once I export and send to my friend, the tempo kept skipping and Jumping( From 135, to 137, to 138, sometimes 154) This has been happening and getting me frustrated. I have reinstalled the app several times. I have also sent the same audio to 3 different people with different software and the problem remains the same. Please, I need your help
Thank you mate! I'm new to recording and brought my first PreSonus Audio box. Loving your tutorials and that song is awesome! Coming to you from Australia. Thanks!
Hey wow! My first song may or may not be recorded. My question is; why can't I find the end button for the end of the song? I didn't see is so I kept scrolling to the right but it never appeared. Where can I find the end button to end my song? Thanks
very nice and simple tracking video, however when I export mixdown's to share I use 128 mp3 because file size is smaller and you can hear whats goin on good enough. I also have basic 16 and 24 track templates with just basic audio tracks, no plugins so load time is as fast as blank song. Thanks for showing us the way JG!
You really do a great job for beginners, and I absolutely must say “THANK YOU”…and ask are there more of these step by step beginner videos? I want to plug in my electric and or acoustic. I tried today yet got nothing…I’m going to go retry after watching this again. I am looking for other beginner videos…and in all honesty, the Presonus Web site is difficult to find things, at least for me…I found this on “You Tube”….Thanks again….!
hi, Can you please help me with an Ampire issue. I cant hear the ampire effect while playing guitar. I hear only plain guitar sound without any effect. What may be the reason ? I am using audiobox 96 and studio one 6 artist Take care
When I click the record button it goes from grey to orange but I don't see volume levels on the computer nor does it start recording. What I'm I doing wrong? I wish I could get real actual help here
I am taking all the time I need to understand everything before I start recording thru my interface.Watching every video too and most likely will buy the online course to help out.🤖📡👾
Hi Joe, here from London. Great video. Wanted to ask, any particular thought to advise whether using Ableton Live or Studio one? Reason being, I’m a newbie using Ableton Live but I came across with your video and wanted to a bit of advice. Thanks in advance.
Great video! I understood every aspect, save one- Could you please show me where the "Talent" shop is? I'd really like to buy some, if it's in stock, that is! Thanks!
How do I record my electric guitar as the sound from my cabinet and not ampire? Also I just have the artist version which is similar but not the same so the prompts are a bit different Do you guys do tutorials using Presonus 6 Artist
Why did you not have a tik while recording. Noticed alot of off measure down strums. Some early some late. What is the reason for omitting that. I also think preroll would be really helpful; it really saved me a lot of frustration. Also curious I have a new Taylor mini Koa guitar. Being an A/E guitar would it be better to record into a mic or into the interface for the best acoustic sound
Your videos are excellent, mate, thank you. In fact, thanks to you, I've just recently made my first recording, though I've already run into a weird issue. I recorded a track using a Rhodes ep kinda sound, then did another tack using a finger bass. I then tried to record a track using an external instrument (a synthesizer) but as well as playing my synth, the bass sound from before also plays whatever I'm playing on the keyboard and I can't seem to switch it off. Even muting does nothing. Feel slightly presumptuous asking you something like this here, but I'm really quite stuck. Thanks.
Man you f’ inspired me! You are a great mentor I really like the way you convey your knowledge kudos for that! You m’ teacher I’ve been watching all your videos always giving likes but I really recognize your talent also thanks for you to exist such a great person
I was gifted this program when I got my Positive Grid Spark amp. I really have no idea how to use it, I've gotten a couple of results but not very good, (because basically, I'm not that good) but now I have a MIDI keyboard, and I am trying to get that to connect so I can use it too. That's where I'm stuck. I can't get the midi to record properly and have no idea how to get it to play back. It plays but no audio :( I'm sure with more views on your channel, it will become clear. Thanks in advance for all the help :)
I want to know how to use Positive Grid to record using Stodio One which comes packaged with the Spark Amp. I don't have a Presonus Audio Interface or Focusrite for that matter, so this video is a Fail.
Thanks! Great video. Is there a playlist of your basic tutorials? I see “new features” playlists, but I’m just getting started, so it would be nice to find all the basic tutorials in one place.
It’s recorded and mixed completely dry. Meaning no effects or signal processing at all. Slight eq, compression, and limiter would take the song up close to a professional final result. Assuming the song, and performance are well done, it doesn’t require many effects to get to a radio-ready final result.
Hi Joe, nice video for recording in Studio One. I have a question - what is the difference between the Inputs vs. the Outputs view for recording? I'm under the assumption that if I use the inputs window for recording, effects I add there will be "written" to the audio as it's recorded (using the fat channel or other plugin in that view). Is there a way to have the outputs window pop-out as it's own window if that's the case? Will you or Gregor do a video on that screen by chance at some point in the future?
just make sure you only ewant to record a vocal with no music tracks on the mix right ?? it is impossible to record vocals in a mix with pre sonus correct?
Okay the vocals were a complete surprise...in a very good way. Good stuff!!!!
Hey Joe, you have a good voice .
from all the xplanations i have heard u are the best thanks from a 63 yr old man from south africa who is still singing
And, by the way, very beautiful song! Very Nice voice and guitar!👏
Wow that vocal was everything 🫡🫡
Thanks for Your Encouragement. May The Hope of Glory be Heard by those with Ears that Hear!
Hi my name is Lenix I really enjoyed watching the video and how to set up for a new song. Thanks for what you do. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! This is exactly what I needed to get started. Nice job on the vocals!
Hey Joe, great video. I needed this primer as I've been away from recording for a while. This will get me back in the groove quickly. Cheers.
Keep at it, we are all looking to be inspired
Hey Joe! Not only am I learning a lot about Studio One from you, I'm learning a lot of English from you! :) Thanks for your videos!

Damn Joe. That was so pleasant.. 🥲

I just left sonar for this program I love it already

Great video for beginner like me. Thank you. Please make another tutorial on how to mix my first song in S1.

Hey Joe ,thanks for your tutorial. ( I'm going to hire you to sing in my musical ensemble.) 😀😀😀 Obrigado ! ( Brazil )
HELLO BUDDY. YOU FORGOT TO EXPLIAN HOW TO MAKE ECHO EFFECT ON THE MUSIC AND VOCAL.. PLEASE ANSWER
hi im learning to record in studio via audio box for the first time on my new laptop.
How do we apply special sound effects to vocal recording such as reverb and echo options ?
This is great, thank you!
Nice song!

Do you have a spotify? I came for the tutorial, but now I just wanna hear more of that song
I like your tutorials the best. You don't speed through things.

Joe please help how to use harmony engine from antares in studio one
thx for this . really helpful for a beginner like me .
I'm doing a Voice Over demo. So 1 vocal track and no other tracks. Do I still need the interface? I have Studio 1 Artist.
Great video! I understood every aspect, save one- Could you please show me where the "Talent" shop is? I'd really like to buy some, if it's in stock, that is! Thanks!

This video is awesome. Do you have any videos with advice on how to plug in a keyboard and record?
Hi, is there an option where I record with metronome for the guide track?
how do you transfer what you recorded to a video like how it is here where he is playing but you can clearly hear the recorded audio
Amazing, thanks very much 🙂
Why did you not have a tik while recording. Noticed alot of off measure down strums. Some early some late. What is the reason for omitting that. For a person recording their very first song, metronome is a bit much to explain. Remember, this is for someone who's never recorded anything.
I’m having trouble with production in S1 and I do hip hop, Rnb and Lofi any good videos on getting me started
Thank you i now know how to record a song ❤ yeah you have been extremely helpful thank you thank you thank you again

Almost identical process, only you choose the Positive Grid as your interface instead of a Presonus interface. #notafail - Joe Gilder
@@presonus thanks I did finally figure it out
Thanks! Great video. Is there a playlist of your basic tutorials? I see “new features” playlists, but I’m just getting started, so it would be nice to find all the basic tutorials in one place.
so it's not letting me drag the marker
I have the Atom but when I try to make a beat it doesn’t come out right when I use the MPC studio and software
Thank you for the video. Much appreciated. Is there a way to add instruments if you don't play any at the moment?
I have Studio Artist and Presonus Studio in the box with Audiobox 96
Finally I recorded my first song
Great video
My ma died a day ago and I stumble across this, what are the chances?
Your guitar sounds beautiful and full. Do you have any effects like reverb on? Or do you record dry and then add effects? Thank you. Love your vids!

Please help out,can I record adlips while listening to the main vocal?
Create a new vocal track and record on that one. Just like I recorded the vocal along to the guitar.
I tried to follow this tutorial, but I've been making music in Studio One for years and thus failed to make my first song.
Please help.
If you followed this video, you should've recorded something. What went wrong? - Joe Gilder
Eek! I bought him that pop filter for Christmas 😔
just make sure you only ewant to record a vocal with no music tracks on the mix right ?? it is impossible to record vocals in a mix with pre sonus correct?
🤘🤘🤘

The song is very John Mayer...
really annoying you can not listen to the track to sing to in pre sonus.... frustrated user over three months begging for the solution to this,,,,
I'm not 100 percent shure, but I guess, that this was NOT your first song.
😂 At least my second. - Joe Gilder
