- The Shaynes - You Tell Me Girl ...1966
The Shaynes were a very popular garage band from Lancaster Pennsylvania that was active in the mid 1960s . It appears that the band released three 45s ( all of which sold pretty well) on the Pee Vee record label. Pee Vee was a record label which put out mainly doo-wop, teen-beat and progressive rock (in later years), the label operated between 1964-1974. The song featured in this video, “You Tell Me Girl”, is the B-side of The Shaynes first single with the A-side being "Mo-Town Workout”. Most members of The Shaynes attended Lancaster Catholic High School.
Band Members were:
Barry Bruce - (lead Vocals)
Sylvester "Butch" King (lead vocals)
Joe Huxta (lead guitar)
Corky Irwin (organ)
Donald Haas (rhythm guitar)
Mike Kahler (bass)
Mike Fritsch (drums)

Ain't that a shayne? I don't know how many singles they cut, but
"From My Window" is another golden garage tune.
What's up big daddy Dale?
Incredible song from Lancaster in early 1966. Corky (Organ) dated my sister. He even set up his organ one evening and played to this song at my house. Hey Cork...are you still out there??
Greetings nobux71...Thanks for visiting my channel and for commenting. The Shaynes song "You Tell Me Girl," hands down is the most popular video I have posted. They must have been something to see in person! ...Cheers, Dale Duncan

garage 60s always the best!
Yep, I love 60's music. Back then, It was less controlled by studios, producers and agents!
@@recordcave yes. the radio stations lost diversity- even other good tracks within their preferred acts! ( hey, that rhymes!)
Ethereal psychedelic slice of magickal 60's music, love love love this 👹😃👹🔥
My youngest sister used to call this “bright and sparkly music.”
Greetings Marie Katherine...I like that, "bright and sparkly music " is a perfect description!...Cheers, Dale
I love their songs.
Thanks for the comment Priscilla...
"You Tell Me Girl" by The Shaynes is the most viewed, and liked song on my channel. By any chance, did you see them live? ...Glad you like the tune! ...Cheers, Dale
I love this band!😉✌️🎸🕺🏻
I loved them from the days of the Brickerville Fire Company. This song was in line with British Wave of the 60's. With the right promotion, this song could have been big. They did a copy of Valarie by Jackie and the Starlites to finish their final set at Brickerville, Lancaster County, PA.
Lynn Ramsey, it is a good record. I lived in York Pa for about ten years and bought this record at a flea market many moons ago. Thanks for the comment and info!
@@recordcave Interesting in Pa.s contribution to the garage scene. I consider this some smooth psych music. What part of 66 was this put out. I was either 9 before 3/30/67, or 10 after that date. 4th then 5th grades respectively. 67 year of Monterey, and flower power.Vietnam era!
@@hugbug4408 Greetings ... According to 45cat vinyl database..The Shaynes released the single "Mo-Town Workout/You Tell Me Girl" in April of 1966. ...Cheers DD
