I really like the ground battle in DBZ: Kakarot DLC 5. It feels more like more of a fight since it's usually sky battles where we can't touch the ground. I really hope there will be more ground battles in the next DLC for the game.

@@valentds A lot people are saying DLC 5 is great. Well, rumor is the DLC 6 maybe the end of Z, but there were few episodes, so it's going to be tough to make long as the other DLCs. However, let's hope they do the Demon King Piccolo saga instead, which will have ground battles instead sky battles.

I would love a Kakarot-esque game taking place back in the original Dragon Ball series. Imagine playing as kid Goku, kid Krillin, young Yamcha and prime Master Roshi against evil Tien, King Piccolo and the Red Ribbon Army and having kid Goku go Great Ape. Cool huh?

Kinda interesting to see the comparison like this.
In Revenge of King Piccolo, you could tell the programmers were trying to wrap things up since this was the last level of the game. That's why they never bothered animating King Piccolo spitting out the egg.
In Kakarot however, it's the opposite. This is a tutorial level so they kinda have to show the egg, otherwise where would Piccolo show up?
No they didn't add the egg part cause they weren't doing the 23rd world tournament

It's also interesting when you realize that DB has been a franchise for over 30 years, yet only like 3 DB console games ACTUALLY cover the king piccolo fight in a story mode. Those games are BT3, DB Kakarot, and DB revenge of king piccolo. I always hoped for a DB origins 3 on the ds to cover the fight as well, but it never came out.

@@jantheking7028Very good point. Which makes all the more crazy how little we see the 23rd Tournament covered in video games. Aside from Attack of the Saiyans and an Obscure Card Game, there isn't alot of representation for that Arc. CyberConnect2 did real good man.

Well obviously. Bandai makes most of their money from DBZ and DBS content, so it obviously makes sense that they are gonna markeet that content the most. It also doesn't help that most western DB fans haven't even seen the original DB, so Bandai plays it safe by using the series that everyone knows and love: DBZ. Not only is it the least controversial DB series in the franchise, it is also the most popular.

There are more, but the rest don't have full dedicated cutscenes. Budokai Tenkaichi 3 has this fight in the story mode too, but it doesn't go in depth and isnt detailed

Revenge of King Piccolo's visuals have held up incredibly well.
The new kid voice works for Gohan but they should’ve kept Kid Goku the same.

Wow, that wii game looks incredible.
Kakarot certainly made the best version we got of this iconic moment. Not to mention, Ground Battles were such a unique idea for 3D combat.
The acting is obviously a lot better in the new version.
Stephanie is iconic but her range was terrible. Colleen can actually emote and yell convincingly
but can’t voice a teenage boy convincingly

Buy it. It's great. Yes it's mostly about the story. There is no vs mode or something like that. But the RPG elements are fun, gameplay is fun and the whole Z story is just great. They didn't only put in the Key scenes from the anime. No they put a lot more scenes into this game. Fun fights. Fun Gameplay. It's the best DBZ story game ever made.

It's in the syllables. And it is rather odd to refer Goku as a kid, even though he looks like one. But here's a thing, looks can be deceiving, and Saiyans age slower than humans up until they hit a growth spurt fit for fighting without hardly ever aging until they hit 80. If anything, Gohan is a preteen during the Cell Games as he's around 11 years old, so definitely not a teen and Goku is in Dragon Ball.

Stephanie Nadolny sure was a great talent. I've never had a problem with Colleen's voice for Kid Gohan, but I do wish Funimation would've kept Stephanie as Kid Goku's voice. Her voice just fit Goku's personality better than she did as Gohan's voice, at least in my opinion. Since Kara Edwards has been voicing Kid Goten all these years, I think it would've been nice if Funi had three separate VAs doing the voices of Kid Goku, Gohan and Goten cuz Stephanie, Colleen and Kara each have very distinct voices for their characters. So having all three employed together would've really made Kid Goku and his sons each stand out from each other in the dub. I know of course that Masako Nozawa voices all three of them in Japanese, but she's given each of them their own distinct voice (or at least between Goku and Gohan). Oh well, wishful thinking.
Both games are very good don’t get me wrong but I miss og kid gokus voice im not trying to hear luffy as goku/gohan it just makes it annoying to listen to imo but 10/10 for both games

Where do the eggs come from ? He had a person sized hole through his chest. I think it would make more sense if it came out of his stomach and he threw it. Is the egg just in his throat the whole time ?
Just roll with it. These characters are flying and throwing power blasts.
In nature exists this form that some species of insects or reptiles doesn't need to copulate to reproduce so what they're doing is basically creating a copy of themselves so the species would survive. I think the same goes for namekians, they're all asexuals so they release eggs that basically creates copies to continue the species. The problem is the namekians was a thing later.

It's always odd to me seeing people bicker over the vocal performances in videos like this since it's dubs. If it's not the Japanese version that's being talked about then the voice acting is pretty much pointless from how I always saw it when it comes to "arguing" about the voices.

@@beatsbyelvis6890 Uh...I do? That's the only version that feels "correct" to me pretty much. The voices line up more with the lip movements, what they're saying makes more sense, there's actual moments of silence instead of the dubs feeling the need, for some reason, to fill as much as possible with constant talking, and the music never feels right unless it's the Japanese music pretty much.
And what do you mean most content on DB is in English? It's a Japanese series. Obviously the most (if not practically all) content is done in Japanese originally.
People say they prefer Stephanie over Colleen. Sure, you do you. But I would’ve much preferred Kid Goku and Kid Gohan voiced by different people. I don’t want someone’s son to sound exactly like their father when they were children. Something like Naruto and Boruto, they aren’t voiced by the same people, and don’t sound like each other. That would be the ideal casting decision. But of course, the Dragon Ball fans will have nostalgia glasses on and prefer Stephanie.
You can have both. Some people prefer Colleen voicing Gohan and Stephanie voicing Goku.

@Anonymous7056 You say this as if I don’t know that. But I’m just going to say that Goten isn’t voiced by Stephanie or Colleen. A son shouldn’t sound like their father one for one. That is an Anime decision that is dumb and people accept blindly.
@OtakuD50 I understand, and I’m on the same boat. But Stephanie is not coming back. It is why I wrote my comment. People need to get over the stigma that just because the voice is different, doesn’t mean it is bad. That’s issue with Dragon Ball community, they cling to the past with insisting on certain things were better but they were far from better. I say this as a Dragon Ball fan, that I want better for the community.

@danflad6077 voice direction for anime ganes is much different then how it was years ago. But you can look it up yourself. Chris Sabat has never stopped voicing piccolo
If you look up the cast, you can see clearly that King Piccolo is still voiced by Chris Sabat. Unless you skipped or did not watch the credits. Plus, it's been many years since he voiced him.

Wdym? "He sounds like gohan." Stephanie voiced Gohan and Goku in the old dub, and vice versa for Colleen after 2010. Have you not seen the cast? And don't get me started with the OG actress in Japanese as she voices most of Goku's relatives (and those not related, *coughs* Turles *coughs).
God I would hate to train as king piccolo.
Normally he’s fighting average sized people, then all the sudden he can only use low attacks.
That’s probably part of the reason he lost, that’s a completely different fighting style
