I’m very impressed with the animation this time around. The movements are still a bit stilted, but the shading and lighting makes it look closer to the movie’s quality.

Well, Hitch is gonna have one episode dedicated to him, at least. Other episodes seem to be about Pipp and Izzy, and about Pipp and Zipp. I think The Mane 5 will probably be given equal time, though I don't know why Sunny seems to have been stripped from her main character role...again.
I'll probably watch as much as I can in one sitting. So far I am starting to warm up to the characters, Misty intrigues me because I so far haven't spotted any cutie marks on her. I would find it pretty funny if Misty sort of infiltrated the group and got redeemed via friendship lessons, it'd also make sense seeing as how Misty and Opaline appear to be foils to Celestia and Twilight. I'm rooting for her. I'm also hoping that the writers are going to give us cutie mark lore, seeing as how the Mane Five's cutie marks glow.
Depending on how many episodes come out. If it turns out to be only a few, I’ll sit down and watch them all at once. If it’s ten or twenty episodes, I’ll take my time! Either way, this is already shaping up to be something pretty big!
I like that they didn’t really antagonized sprout in this scene. He was just being more clumsy and doing mistakes he didn’t wanted to. Hope to see him more…
I really love the improvements in the animation! The only thing I see now missing is the color spectrum or contrast, I don't honestly how to describe it because it is not the lighting. The lighting has also improved and I love the color palettes and the story it seems they have been developing
In the 8 minute sneak peek I noticed that pipp says hoofmass instead of hearthwarming. So g5 ponies Don't celebrate hearthwarming any more.. Or at least pegasus Don't
I mean Hearthswarming celebrated the three tribes coming together so it makes sense that they wouldn't want to celebrate that and instead would make up new holidays to erase that history. We could see Sunny and co try to reintroduce Hearthswarming if they learn about it.

😊I have to admit I do prefer it when a series releases one episode a week. And yeh I can see a benifit of taking one episode and doing a few short videos about it before moving on to the next one. But if all the episodes are being dumped on Netflix at once, it will make it difficult to avoid spoilers, and kind of defeat the purpose of making theory videos on certain plot points if spoilers already debunk said theories. Regardless, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the series, Doc. :)
Yeah, this sneak peek has got me interested in both Misty and the ever growing power of the Earth ponies magic as well. and as for characters like Sprout returning chances are his role in the story might end up not being too big but we'll just have to wait and see. Also regarding the episodes being released all at once Doc, i don't remember where but i heard that at some point Netflix actually set up a certain policy about certain shows of their's i think it was some kind of voting thing on whether their viewers wanted episodes released all at once or periodically. at least if i remember correctly.
I'm just glad that they are finally bringing Sprout back. because apart from a wanted poster cameo in TYT and the G5 video game Sprout hasn't appeared in any recent G5 media.
As HYPED as I am for this show, I am firmly against the idea of binge watching, and will be watching the episodes at most once a day if Chapter 2 comes out all at once, which seems likely. I'd have to take a whole break from the internet to avoid spoilers, though 💀
Netflix can release episode individually. For example, Better Call Saul released episodes weekly. Although I prefer the entire season dropping at once so I can burn through it at my own pass rather than being arbitrarily time-gated for no practical reason.
On the one hoof, I have always been used to weekly releases of a series But on the other, with waiting this long after the films release that by tomorrow will become a year old, I feel like I want to watch this in one sitting. Also because spoilers. Fingers crossed for Make Your Mark

In my school vr game there are audiologs from misty research and during which reference different entities in the gigaverse like there was a volcanic golem in the dragon area with embers great great granddaughter pyra reminds her of the demon and alicorn ( she took a picture of to her what looks to be the main metal gear from metal gear solid v the phantom pain with psycho mantis as a alicorn but after farther research it was revealed to be goalius and Almera buldren) during the titans battle commented about Goalius current condition and was ablazed by goalius dread bringer punch and I'm not joking she was surprised that Goalius had that much power
If there is a deeper story that ties all the episodes together, then taking time to digest each episode instead of binging them all would be preferable to me.
have to say the animation lookbetter then the special we got in may and cant waith to see sunny reaction to see twilight also i will still say twilight its trapped perhaps in the tree of harmony and that how she can talk to sunny and its sunny and her friends mission to free twilight so she once again can rule as a princess

If i'm gonna be honest i'm not a big fan of how Hitch is being handled for this series so far. He comes across a lot less like a overconfident sheriff/chad who knows his job and more like just a direct comic relief. Maybe we will see some more nice things with him and Sparky but at the moment he just feels like a completely different character than the one we saw in A New Generation and i don't really like it.
(I ramble about art and animation in G5 for a few paragraphs) I’m glad that so far (from the screenshots) it’s not as desaturated a make your mark was and the colours look so much better, even the poses are not as stiff I HOPE it end up looking good since 3D is hard to do it makes me feel a little conflicted but anything is better then the UA-cam shorts animation I believe they had the worst style I have seen it had some cute elements but a lot of it was screwed and I don’t fully understand how that style got through so much of the team. They have already shown they have a wonderful art studio and it boggles my mind they couldn’t come up with another simple style to work with, even doing more puppet animation with slightly more detailed designs isn’t as hard as it sounds it’s more time confusing but also if it didn’t make all the characters look so stiff and lifeless it would have been better. I’m currently conflicted with my own feelings as there is proof that MLP G5 has good animation, designs, and story but the shorts have shown that significant drop in quality it truly makes me unsure of how it will turn out however I am very keen for the season drop. Hope everyone who read my ramble is doing awesome feel free to discuss with me if ya want!

Because apparently that's how they're going to do it for their show Sonic Prime coming out in December. That's my theory anyway. If they do release it all at once, I don't think I can binge it right away due to college classes. I'll probably just watch them at my own pace and hopefully not get spoiled.
I myself am very exited to learn more about Misty. In fact, I think that she may become one of my favorite characters in all. I say this because unlike the Mane 5, we do not have any expectations regarding her characteristics that we want upheld. An example of this is how I don't like how Hitch has changed from how he was portrayed in the movie; confident, competent, a little full of himself, shredded abs etc. went to unconfident, incompetent, annoying, joke worthy etc. The same goes for how Izzy has changed from the movie. But for Misty, she was not in the movie, so we have nothing to compare her to, and therefore we may like her better. It will always be hard to grudgingly accept the new characterizations of the Mane 5 now, but for Misty, I am open to all possibilities.
The reason why Sprout's magic looks so powerful is because it needed the combined magic of 5 ponies to try and stop a single berry from his giant plant. And they barely managed to do it.

Wait a second... I'm no expert but the scenes from the crafts fair and the one from the plant apocalypse seem to be taking place in different times, so maybe we saw two separate episodes and didn't even know it. Also I'm going one by one maybe even watching two to three episodes per-day.
If I can watch it all I would do it. I do have school at that time and I have something else to do that is important to Me that after school for four out of five school days.
Misty is likely to help herself than Opaline. Sprout does look easy to manipulate, Posey perhaps not so much. I wonder if we'll find out why the Earth ponies were not able to grow plants a thousand years ago. Applejack could have been a super apple farmer. If the writers have learned from their mistakes and done plots that actually go into the morals of friendship and the details of magic, then this it right? I still want to know what happened to the changelings, griffons, hippogriffs, yaks and dragons.
And not to mention spike, flurry heart and cadence might be alive somewhere in G5 because since we have discord and twilight sparkle, more importantly why didn't discord never mentioned anything about luster dawn and her friends aren't they the new mane 6 of Equestria and why can't she and her friends stop opaline?
My theory I just thought about is maybe the earth ponies have magical capabilities is because there’s no true alicorn yet. Maybe the jewels are kinda like a “test” or “detector” or something to indicate if there is a true alicorn. Until there’s an alicorn that can be able to harness a lot of magic, the earth ponies get magical capabilities from time to time because there’s no one to stabilize it. I’m thinking the alicorn in this series did something that warranted the extinction of alicorn magic, but in doing so it took the unicorns and pegasi’s powers as well. Now with the magic returning in a heaping flood, and no alicorn to sponge it up, that’s why earth ponies are ending up getting magical capabilities when they shouldn’t. Perhaps that’s why Misty is investigating because she wants her master, who is an alicorn, to get her magic back.
I'll watch all at once cause people will spoil it and that's annoying. Frankly I think we saw the first hints of the new tree of harmony and the new manifestation of the elements. And I would love to see the grander over arching tale
I have a theory on Sunny Mother. It might be a stretch but I think Sunset Shimmer is Sunny,s mom because of similar color palettes but most importantly Her Alicorn magic the similarities of them both having glowing wings. Just a thought
I’m hoping it’s something similar to what happened in the start of season 1 G4 where they really focused on slice of life shenanigans and building up the ponies personality’s and who they are while building and underlying narrative for the coming seasons, my best bet is they want to test the waters and keep it safe. I’m not hugely impressed by the design of opaline. I’m sorry but as an animator and character designer her design is just a very big eyesore. Especially with the lower quality animation they will turn up the saturation to a max. Grape purple white white Mane and aquamarine highlights and touches just make me gag a little.
I like the idea of Misty being reformed through finding fulfillment in genuine friendship rather than a hollow service to Opaline, while Sprout falls deeper into his toxic mentality through flattery and manipulation (and almost certainly opaline clocking his mommy issues and giving him the validation he craves)
My thoughts on the sneak peek: -There are two "messages" that rub me the wrong way: Pipp encourages Izzy to not be original as she doesn't and Hitch apologizing for trying to control magic. Bruh, twilight defeated trixie by controlling her magic -the animation looks better and worse than the special. There's slightly more detail and the color grade resembles the movie but at the same time, a lot of the faces are too expressive, especially when Hitch gasps at the fillies and when sunny randomly laughs after making the giant tree -Sprout doesn't sound like himself. His VA (Joshua Graham) voiced him much better in the video game to the point where I thought Ken Jeong reprised his role. But here, his voice just doesn't have that prideful, immature tone and sounds like it belongs to a background pony
The interesting thing about the episode is that this episode will deal with the magic of the terrestrial ponies since there we see that the terrestrials cannot control the magic so much so that the pegasus and unicorns are obliged to help the terrestrials to control their magic
To compensate for the low quality animation, Make Your Mark needs motion capture for the characters just like how Red Dead Redemption 2 has motion capture for the horses.
It's clear that G5 is just another obstacle for the franchise rather than a gift. Do you know what was so great about FiM? It's sophisticated nature as well as balls to give it's audience the thrill of a lifetime all thanks to Faust's passion and sense of nostalgia.

I generally watch anything released in one sitting. I just wish Paramount+ would do that instead of only releasing one episode a week.

Wait a second... I'm no expert but the scenes from the crafts fair and the one from the plant apocalypse seem to be taking place in different times, so maybe we saw two separate episodes and didn't even know it. Also I'm going one by one maybe even watching two to three episodes per-day.

Misty is likely to help herself than Opaline. Sprout does look easy to manipulate, Posey perhaps not so much. I wonder if we'll find out why the Earth ponies were not able to grow plants a thousand years ago. Applejack could have been a super apple farmer. If the writers have learned from their mistakes and done plots that actually go into the morals of friendship and the details of magic, then this it right? I still want to know what happened to the changelings, griffons, hippogriffs, yaks and dragons.
And not to mention spike, flurry heart and cadence might be alive somewhere in G5 because since we have discord and twilight sparkle, more importantly why didn't discord never mentioned anything about luster dawn and her friends aren't they the new mane 6 of Equestria and why can't she and her friends stop opaline?
My theory I just thought about is maybe the earth ponies have magical capabilities is because there’s no true alicorn yet. Maybe the jewels are kinda like a “test” or “detector” or something to indicate if there is a true alicorn. Until there’s an alicorn that can be able to harness a lot of magic, the earth ponies get magical capabilities from time to time because there’s no one to stabilize it.
I’m thinking the alicorn in this series did something that warranted the extinction of alicorn magic, but in doing so it took the unicorns and pegasi’s powers as well. Now with the magic returning in a heaping flood, and no alicorn to sponge it up, that’s why earth ponies are ending up getting magical capabilities when they shouldn’t. Perhaps that’s why Misty is investigating because she wants her master, who is an alicorn, to get her magic back.

Frankly I think we saw the first hints of the new tree of harmony and the new manifestation of the elements. And I would love to see the grander over arching tale

I have a theory on Sunny Mother. It might be a stretch but I think Sunset Shimmer is Sunny,s mom because of similar color palettes but most importantly Her Alicorn magic the similarities of them both having glowing wings. Just a thought

I’m hoping it’s something similar to what happened in the start of season 1 G4 where they really focused on slice of life shenanigans and building up the ponies personality’s and who they are while building and underlying narrative for the coming seasons, my best bet is they want to test the waters and keep it safe. I’m not hugely impressed by the design of opaline. I’m sorry but as an animator and character designer her design is just a very big eyesore. Especially with the lower quality animation they will turn up the saturation to a max. Grape purple white white Mane and aquamarine highlights and touches just make me gag a little.

I like the idea of Misty being reformed through finding fulfillment in genuine friendship rather than a hollow service to Opaline, while Sprout falls deeper into his toxic mentality through flattery and manipulation (and almost certainly opaline clocking his mommy issues and giving him the validation he craves)

My thoughts on the sneak peek:
-There are two "messages" that rub me the wrong way: Pipp encourages Izzy to not be original as she doesn't and Hitch apologizing for trying to control magic. Bruh, twilight defeated trixie by controlling her magic
-the animation looks better and worse than the special. There's slightly more detail and the color grade resembles the movie but at the same time, a lot of the faces are too expressive, especially when Hitch gasps at the fillies and when sunny randomly laughs after making the giant tree
-Sprout doesn't sound like himself. His VA (Joshua Graham) voiced him much better in the video game to the point where I thought Ken Jeong reprised his role. But here, his voice just doesn't have that prideful, immature tone and sounds like it belongs to a background pony

The interesting thing about the episode is that this episode will deal with the magic of the terrestrial ponies since there we see that the terrestrials cannot control the magic so much so that the pegasus and unicorns are obliged to help the terrestrials to control their magic

To compensate for the low quality animation, Make Your Mark needs motion capture for the characters just like how Red Dead Redemption 2 has motion capture for the horses.
It's clear that G5 is just another obstacle for the franchise rather than a gift. Do you know what was so great about FiM? It's sophisticated nature as well as balls to give it's audience the thrill of a lifetime all thanks to Faust's passion and sense of nostalgia.
