    Absolutely gorgeous man. The only one ive seen come close to this level of craftsmanship was a scratch built treadle powered jewelers lathe, and trust me, you can ask the wife, ive watched a lot of power tool scratch builds! 😂

    Beautiful job! The parts you used for the tail stock, genius! Where did you find the threaded rod with a pulley attached?

      Tudo bem?

    Awesome video. Did you create your own plans or use premade plans? Would love a pdf plans of this. I have an old washing machine motor I am looking to repurpose and this would be great. Also want to incorporate 3d printing as well.

      Hi, I did everything using wood scraps! The base was: Motor, axle and chuck! I'm thinking about designing all my projects. In the meantime I can help you... I have videos in the shots of a detailed drawing of the lathe that can help you. Any information I am available to help! Thank you very much for the message! @3s-Woodworking

    Hello friend! I plan on building something like this for myself, and had some questions.
    First, what did you do for the spindle? Did you purchase one, or get it from a broken lathe? Or make it?

    • @woodtransformer
      @woodtransformer  20 годин тому +1

      Hello friend! Good idea, you can make like that.
      About the spindle, this is very importante. I made a sketch and send to mechanic. You can buy in amazon all the peace’s. I bought wash machine motor and controls in amazon.

      @@woodtransformer So you had it custom machined? My university has a machine shop, so I might make it there. How has the lathe held up? Is it still going strong?

      I'm considering making my bed ways out of angle irons, 2x1.5 inches, for additional strength. What do you think of this idea?
      Also, how powerful is your motor?

    • @woodtransformer
      @woodtransformer  57 хвилин тому +1

      @Butteredthanatoast Great! The estructure is very important than a strong motor. Your project, I believe, is a more professional than my. For select the motor you need a lot of attention... 1) what the size of pieces you will make with that lathe? 2) what command control you use for speed control? 3) wells for rpm? My project, 1/4hp, motor well 2”, spindle well 3,5”... my limit piece size 7” diameter.

    "Kit MDF" is cyanoacrylate (according to some page I can't read :p), so I think that's like superglue.
