Edit: Sorry folks- wrote this post when I was about to come off break at work and if I'd had time to think I woulda mentioned the way-more-appropriate gawwwfik-adjacent Necro Stellar as an example of a band not making (most of their) songs longer or shorter than they should be (see the vid for "Fluctuations Of Absurdity" here on youtube for an example). And noooo I would never do a pit at a goth nite! Sorry for giving anybody that impression.

To what y'all said about times on songs being too short:
Depends on the song.
There are 1 minute punk or grind core tunes that are too repetitive, and then there are loooong tunes over 10 minutes long in whatever genre you please that leave you going "What? It's over already? Gotta hear it again!"
It all depends on who makes a tune and whether or not they actually are driven by true inspiration in the endeavor.
Some of them transitions were slick as ice. Nice work CAD family.

The full album features an array of fantastic scene vocalists and I think it's going to be a bit special when it is finally fully released. 1:11:35 Winters - I play Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 and the TV show absolutely nailed the look and feel of the games. I remember Congo Bongo, had it for my Commodore 64 as well on floppy disk. I would die all the time in that game. Good times. 🤣 Cheers, CAD! 🖤🥃🌙
Hey Johnny, just because I'm genuinely curious regarding my own memory (I had a Commodore C64, too) - was Congo Bongo a tropical skateboard game? Where you had to jump over or duck under obstacles? Or am I thinking of a different game?
@@shawnreed343 It was a platform type game so there is a lot of jumping. A bit of a mixup of Donkey Kong and Frogger. You can find play throughs of the game on UA-cam. Cheers!
My fav track is by Future Lied to Us with, I believe, former Mondtraume lead singer.
Epic show as always! I particularly loved Synthetic Dream Foundation which deep sounds affected my soul much in the way Diary of Dreams Epicon does. CAD in my ears makes my life darkly fantastic!

It's not so important but I'd thought I'd share my not so important tracks which are in a not so important order and they are What's Gone Before, Die for This and lastly though not so important is Divine (although it is the opposite of not so important). Although another track was not so important as the others because I usually like Solar Fake but the title was repeated so many not so important amount of times I thought it was not so important, Lol - I liked the music though. Keep the great tracks coming! Have fun in Germany Gold!!

....... andddddd ...... I LOVEEEE Aesthetic Perfection! Hellz yeah! You should check out his recent short videos here on UA-cam where he's mowing listening to the music he created while the neighbors don't know it. Then one with the face paint and black fishnet arm warmers while he's taking care of his weeds outside to some hardcore music. HYSTERICAL and EPIC at the same time! OMG, ROFL! You guys have GOT to go look those up! Priceless.
Duuuuuude~ Commodore C64! :D That brings back memories- it was the first computer/introduction to gaming I had. I can still remember 'Load"$",8' to bring up a menu of games on the disks, and 'Load"*",8,1' to direct play the first game on the disk. My personal favorite Commodore game was Defender of the Crown. I can remember the music for Defender of the Crown the way Winters can for Congo Bongo. XD But I can remember tons of others- Archon, Blackhawk, Jumpman, Dark Castle, Centipede, Frogger... and yes, I remember Congo Bongo ...baaaarely. It was a game I had within the like hundred floppy box we had for the Commodore when I was a kid, but I barely played it- probably only tried it once and decided it was too hard. Wasn't it like... a tropical skateboarding game, ish?
All the sets this week have a vibe that's a little distinct from most other weeks and yet cohesively could make one set rather than three- they have good synergy with one another. I liked Endanger best this week, I think- though I agree with Paradise, wish it was longer. And I've heard 'Like the Wind' before- in one of the documentaries made about it. Didn't know there was an Extize cover, so that was a pleasant surprise. :)
On another topic- I've been mulling over the Midnight Darkwave thing the past couple weeks- I like the music, but it feels scummy of the project to phrase itself as not AI if it is. And considering the repetitive nature of the song content, I can give it a bit of appreciation space, but that becomes far less if I feel lied to from the project itself. AI stuff is fine... but trying to pretend it's not AI is ...not fine... By this, part of what I mean to say is I don't think AI music should be shunned if it's good just because it's AI, but if it's passed off as non-AI that ought to be the project shooting itself in the foot, because no one should be happy about being lied to.
Instead of saying, we should cater to people on TikTok we should probably question the idea of those people’s attention span and not catering to the lowest common denominator. Why would we reduce our standards?
(My name is pronounced "High-Pull " it's German. ) I had the same reaction as Paradise to the Endanger track: it was too gosh darn short. I wanted more too and it was interesting to hear Winters and Maus on the topic. Please play the extended dance mix as soon they release one. Cheers.

I have been a fan of Echoberyl since I first heard "Broken Pieces" on your show a few years ago. It has been interesting how their sound has changed from their first full album "Apparition" which had a kind of ethereal-dreampop sound to "The Awakening of a Mutant Girl" which was maybe synthwave to the last album "Mother Solidtude and Other Dark Tales" which was more energetic ethereal-cyber-dance oriented. I'll be interested in hearing where they go with this new album "Through the Chaos."
