No need for all the steps and time, cook them right in the marinade. Just throw everything into a pot, submerge the carrots in the liquid to cover and cook the right in the marinade til desired doneness. Let them sit for a while before serving if you want. Done!
Oooo! I might have to try this again next time. I followed a recipe like that before I created mine and the flavor just didn't infuse into the carrots very well. That's why I like to marinate mine for at least 24 hours. But maybe I'll have to try it again! Is there a certain recipe you use?
If you want to try, just cook them in the marinade AND hold them overnight, a few less steps and more flavor. As for what recipe I use, I just looked up a recipe for the spices that go into hot dogs and toss some into the liquid portion similar to yours when cooking. I also like to use Goya Jamon and water in place of the salt and broth. (It's vegan... plumvegan.com/accidentally-vegan-food-list/ ). If anyone has an Instant Pot, they take literally a couple minutes to cook once it's pressurized, and it really infuses the flavors... then hold on keep warm for a while to marinate further. If you aren't grilling them once cooked, searing them in a hot fry pan with a few drops of marinade to rewarm adds an added depth of flavor. I avoid oil, but for the picky kids, a few drops added when you sear gives the carrots a convincing look too. I've even seen a recipe for carrot "smoked salmon", gotta try that soon if I can find it again! Gotta love the internet.
@@CharGC123 I'm Cuban and ate mountains of Goya products growing up, but just for those that are new to Goya spice packets, they are pure MSG, which makes them delicious of course. But those trying to be healthy or avoid massive insulin spikes may want to avoid the Goya spicing products in general. Peace!

Just wanted to say thank you for uploading this! I made these and we had them two days in a row. They're so good! On the second day when we finished them my meat eater boyfriend said "I wish there was more carrot dogs!" Haha, thanks so much, will definitely make over and over again.
The marinade for this recipe is absolutely spot on perfect… The only difference is for me, I boil my carrots for 40 minutes… I hate when they come out crunchy
awesome video and wonderful idea. I have been experimenting at home with our smoker and smoking things like spaghetti squash to make a pulled smoked sandwich with a home made BBQ sauce from smoked peppers and garlic. I will certainty be trying this!

Hello 3 quick questions can they be frozen, how long would you think that they will keep, also would vaccum sealing help the marinating process? I'm a new vegetarian and I'm trying to learn as much as possible.
They should be okay to freeze, but not sure how long they would keep. Maybe a couple of months or so? And yeah! I've been wanting to try to vacuum seal them to help with the marinating process. I even have a vacuum sealer I just keep forgetting to try it lol.
I'm not 100% sure on how healthy it is, but I only use a tiny bit, and I don't have these much, so hopefully it isn't *too* bad for you! I'll have to look into it for sure.

So...I followed your recipe and made these for a lunch I had scheduled today and WOW, hot diggity dog! They are YUMMO!

They should keep for 5-7 days in the fridge. I've never frozen them, but it seems like it would work. :)
