I have zero complaints about the fierce line up, live liner also. Caught 60 - 100lb catfish, 100lb+ stingrays, and 7ft+ gar. It's a workhorse! Very dependable.
100% agree. I’ve hauled in some big boys myself with these reels, but not only that they are a non-trophy fish workhorse. Can’t even count the amount of smaller fish these reels have handled for me
My Penn Fierce 2 in 3000/4000 size for carp and they have worked well for years. Those dual drag reels are great for this style of fishing. I generally use 10lb mono and small hooks size 4-2 for fish up to 20lbs.
I also use Penn Fierce 4000s for carp. I’ve pulled in 20-30lb with them easily. The dual drag is great to for carp because you don’t have to set the hook. Just deactivate the live liner and the fight is on
Ive been using a Penn Fierce III 2000 for years. haven't caught a ton of different species on it. But its had no issues reeling in massive 15+ pound cat fish. Huge fan of this reel. The new Penn Pursuits have sealed ball bearing. Probably the best value in reels especially if you're on a budget.
These reels are troopers for sure. 1 big difference between the pursuit and the fierce is that the pursuit has a plastic/composite body and the fierce has a metal one.
Thanks! I just got a version iv 6000 live liner. Beautiful reel, but very quite. My Okuma CDX65 and ABF 65 are way louder. I’m taking it out on my Ugly Tiger tomorrow, hope to lock into some giant flatheads at the canal. 🤞🏽

@@BitesandStrikesFishing very subtle bait feeder for the lighter Bite's, zero complaints!
@@justint.4404 same here. If you upgrade to the 4 let me know your thoughts
Thank you just picked up the fierce 4 combo because of this video! Helped me make the decision because of the sealed bearings
Glad it helped!
Make sure to check back and let me know how it worked out for you

Whatsup brotha, nice review! 👍👍
Thanks!
Great review quick to the point and understandable
Thanks. I try to make them how I’d like to see them.

I was told my fierce 3 8000 reels (I bought two on sale at sportsman wholesale) and was told they have completely sealed ball bearings
Im thinking of making the Penn Fierce IV LL my next reel, gonna pair it with a medium heavy ugly stik, just need to think if i want the 4000 or 6000
The 6000 will hold more line, that’s the only advantage over the 4000.
Do we get to see the 4 in action this summer??
Maybe…. Still deciding
Is one louder (main drag/ liver liner clicker) or do they sound the same?
They sounded the same. Both pretty quite compared to other brands
Thanks!

I bet the Battle IV gets the Spinfisher seal and the Spinfisher IV gets the Slammer IPSX6 seal and the Slammer IV gets the new super duper XXX seal.
It will be interesting to see. The battle 3 has been one of their best in the line up and an award winning reel for them
Can u add the live liner to the fierce 4 8000 to one that dose not have it?
No, it has a whole different gear system inside
Doesn’t the fierce only have 1 sealed ball bearing. Offering size 1000-8000?
I believe the 3 has 1 sealed and the 4 has all sealed.
I'd say Penn just wants to charge more. Now My Spinfisher 6000 is a beast with huge line capacity and a superb drag.
I also have the Spinfisher and it is a great reel. I think due to the price the Fierce is the more popular of the 2. Both great reels
@@BitesandStrikesFishing ya the Spinfisher is a bit spendy, but if it's taken care of and cleaned and lubed properly it should last a long time.
@@jamestboehm6450 for sure. The Spinfisher is about $100, but you do get more features for the extra cost.
