Aliex, definitely in-between a kayak and very stable skiff. That vessel is epic. I love the factory wiring, the battery box storage, motor options, power pole setup, and more. Dang, tough choice now. Nucanoe, Bonafide, and Wilderness came out with new kayaks for the new year. All can be motorized which I'm looking for. Great competition for all three. Swivel seat is great. I'm a track junkie so this a great

Bro thats about same weight as pedal drive kayaks. You hit a point where either your fit or you easier launch points.
@@johndubinsky8415 My Bite FD weighs about 115 pounds with all my gear in it. This thing and the new Bonafide are definitely a good bit heavier.
@@johndubinsky8415 My Hobie Compass is around 70 pounds. i fish all around central Florida using my truck. Most places I launch from don't have boat ramps. The reason I bought the Compass was for weight and ease of use after having a heavier kayak before.
@johndubinsky8415 add ur gear, battery, motor, etc. Now ur up well over 200 pounds. This doesn't compare to pedal kayaks. Won't be able to use in kayak fishing competitions just like u can't use the bluesky boatworks "kayak" in kayak tournaments. Thus not a kayak. Might as well get a jon boat if u are using a trailer to tow these things around. Go in shallower water and have more room for storage. These things have over a 12 inch draft lol. Need over a foot of water to float. Jon boats just need 6-8 inches. Actual kayaks just need 4-6 inches. These small plastic bass boats are just silly.
I feel like this hull is more well thought out than the Bonafide XTR . Just my initial impression.
@@dangerfield85 what makes you say that? My initial thought was the opposite.
@@chandlercole5156 the hatches especially space inside the hull dedicated to batteries, the pre rigged wiring, 5 spots for starboard rigging and the pontoon hull. For the tournament fisherman the space for the ketch board is nice and potential for a custom live well in those hatches would be nice for pan fishing.
having the bass raider like hull is nice, makes it more stable, included command bard and dual individual hatch, I will see the XTR tomorrow maybe I can compare them with broll
@dangerfield85 I watched a few other videos of this kayak. I like the integrated wiring (if it's done right). There are plenty of examples of bad integrated wiring *cough Ascend 133X*. I do like the hatches and how many there are as well as the placement of the bow mount. I think the hull on the bonafide is more stable and gives you more room. The bonafide has more space, even for side storage. It is a rough comparison because this one comes in at a $600 lower cost, so of course it has fewer features. I think it's a budget friendlier XTR130, but I would rather spend a little more for the XTR personally.
@@chandlercole5156 I haven’t deep dived yet. I’m a big fan of both brands, I’ve got a recon 120 hd, I really like the PWR but I think I’ll be adding a SKF to the family rather than one of these BIG kayaks

yeah i was asking if we can cartop it but we can't most racks are rated for 110#
The new bonafide xtr130 weighs 155 fitted hull weight and 170 fully rigged, which is extremely heavy

Great vid ! What size outboard is it rated for ? And will they let u test it in salt water with an outboard ? I really wanna see this yak hit decent wake from boats while running an out board . 3.5mph with no gear means 3mph loaded with gear but i really like that its setup for outboard .
it is probably rated for a 2.5 gas, 3hp electric due to kayak regulations, would probably go 6.5mph with gas, around 6mph with electric, I should get one next year

We kinda non motorized kayak tournaments for poor folks.
One of my favorite lakes in Ohio is non electric , paddle only. That lake has some huge hybrids in there!

Ya....they lost me at 158lbs. So, rich men only kayaks, with trailers.
but the titan 13.5 was that heavy and i had no issues taking on my truck with a good boonedox bed extender

Hi Aliex! HEAVY kayak! I'm curious; why do you not like the XI3?
Well, the motor turns on while stowed away, the remote sucks, breaks often and it should have a screen so you know what it is doing, and other stuff I can't recall right now. I do have to say I love the motor itself, not the programming, the motor is fast and powerfull

As long as Hobie can call their PA's a Kayak, Watercraft such as this are as well. Just the hull design here is more advanced, this is the natural progression of Fishing Kayaks, just we're really needing an advancement in Materials to bring the weights back into something more manageable/practical.

I'm a kayak bass fisherman, and I fish out of actual kayaks....I've owned a boat & kayaks should NOT have motors....That's the point of the kayak experience...if people want a boat, get a boat
whats the point of a fishing kayak without a motor, you may as well buy a cheap paddle kayak and call it a day
