- The Google Pixel Watch was one of those smartwatches that despite being highly anticipated, was absolutely trashed and it was never given a chance for redemption!
*About the screen timeout: when I was working on the video, after I had already shot it, I updated everything (you can see me doing it in the video), and then the 5-second timeout was not available anymore! :(
So you can just change it to 10 seconds.
**About ECG: please beware that in order to use the ECG app you shouldn't be pregnant or under 22 years old. Some other restrictions might still apply, for example if you have a pace maker or you already know that you have aFib, etc.

Hey Pixel watch owners! Can you confirm that your watch doesn’t have the 5-second display timeout option? I ran some updates and since then that option is gone. :(
Yea just 10s the minimum
If I have it on my wrist and in front of my face it seems to stay open long enough to do what I'm doing.
I don't pay attention to those youtubers that know everything, I bought this watch two months ago and I just can say it is the best watch I ever had, I got the all galaxy watches out there, I also got the apple ultra watch so I can say the google watch is a just a gem (hardware and software all together right there) a very honest review, thanks.
How is to pay with Pixel watch?

I disagree, I take Galaxy watch 5 Pro and apple watch ultra over this without hesitation.
@Sam Jam I have to disagree with you the ultra is excessively bulky I might even say ugly . Plus the pixel has better comfort and assistance than them
@@notmalixd69 pixel is not comfortable because of the bulge on the wrist. Samsung galaxy 5 is better in every way. In fact Pixel is using 5 year old Samsung CPU

Ive had my pixel watch for abt 2months first gen lte and i luv it ..yes the battery could be better but not a deal breaker runs os4 now ....sizewise fits comfortably on my wrist nice watch ..google im happy

The thing we need to keep in mind is the phrase "Planned obsolescence." When I first bought my current Fitbit watch, the battery lasted for 4 days, now it's down to one. Guess what? These units over time tend to lose battery life. That being said, If you buy a smartwatch that is already as low as one day of battery power, you'll be down to half a day in no time. The idea is to get you to keep buying the next new thing. With only one day of battery life, you'll need a new unit way before the next one comes out. The Google Pixel is a great idea, but why didn't they pack it with all the features they had in previous units and beef up the battery life? Instead, they took away features and shortened the battery life. WTH?🤷🏽♀
Great thoughts and I agree with you Niecy! Like I said in the video, I think it goes back to the idea of a Pixel Watch being scratched, then after a few years brought back to life, but without reworking the specs, resulting in a watch without a competitive advantage in the smartwatch market.
While I agree, I just bought this watch partially due to it being on sale, and partially because my Fossil Gen 4 Explorist finally bit the dust. It's battery life was terrible right out of the box. For instance, with tilt to wake on, the battery would be dead in under 12 hours when it was brand new. And even at the end of its life nearly 7 years later, the battery life was more or less the same. And I wore it almost every day during that time.
I like my Pixel Watch, have 24h every day with AOD on. I charge it before bed, hit bedtime more and last me night and next day with 30-40 mins gps run.
Yeah but my galaxy active 2 lasts me 72 hours with 4 year old battery
@@samjam6989 and….? If you don’t have the energy to throw a watch on the charger while you shower, then you probably have no reason to own a smartwatch.
@@matthewdavisson and if you forget to charge it then what?? Am just trying to minimize the amount of devices that require charging. There is smartphones that need to be charged, laptops, iPads, remote controls, cars, earbuds etc. Etc. You have to spend the whole day plugging things to charge lol 😂
@@samjam6989 I have literally NEVER forgotten to charge my watch. It's habit. Not charging it is just being plain lazy.

I hear you on the battery life discussion. It wasn't too hard to whittle down to essential apps, services, and notifications that let me use it as a smart watch while having all-day battery life. Thanks for the tip on enabling bedtime mode on the app - I've been doing it manually every night! To be fair, I've only had it for a week 🫠
I'm getting mine on Thursday, how long is the battery life when you whittle down to the essential apps??
I like Pixel watch. actually I like everything on it. the style and design. also the battery is not that bad. stay with me 24 hour to 30 hour Yes this is the first smart watch from Google and it is good, thanks for your review
Lol my galaxy active 2 from 4 years ago can work for more than 72 hours and that's a 4 year old battery and I use it in gym with standalone music for an hour lol.
@@samjam6989 I agree with you Samsung is more older than pixel phone and watch and this is the series one from pics it watch, google need more years to be like Samsung however, we love pixel product from the first until now, and we believe pixel will be the best one in the market
24-30 hour? You must be not using it at all
I find actually using the watches fitness features as well as streaming music or even using UA-cam music offline drains the battery much quicker. Definitely have to charge it at least twice in a day. If it's just ambient on my wrist and I don't use any of the features then yes it will last a whole day.

Yes, it has a compass sensor.

Could have the best software, be the most pretty and best of all, but 24, 24.5, 26.5, 28.5 hours battery? A shot on their feet... Google! They must do a better one, otherwise they'll always be second or third choices, unfortunately.
I use an Iphone, and a fitbit, to bad this watch cant work with IOS (greedy apple :( )

Nah it's not...apple watch ultra, Samsung galaxy watch 5 Pro with 5 day battery, Garmin Fenix 6 or 7 pro etc. I doubt you have tried those since they are better, better built quality, better battery, better options and features, faster, more accurate GPS and step counting etc.

You make it sound like pixel watch is alien tech lol...it's using Samsung's 5 year old processor, has terrible battery life and has bug and glitches...but sure not even close. You probably haven't tried anything than because there are watches that are not only close but they surpass it by a country mile. It doesn't have track back, it doesn't have dual GPS, it doesn't have Blood pressure monitoring, it doesn't have proper step count, need to pay for Fitbit premium, doesn't have 3 day to 5 day battery life, doesn't have siren, doesn't have satellite antenna, it doesn't have auto detect workout.....but sure it's not close. Pixel watch is definitely not close bud. Stop nut hugging google, they aren't the best in terms of hardware
I sent it back after 2 days. I had to charge it 3 times in 2 days and the watch is too small. Wear OS is fine and it was nice to use but the battery life was just pitiful
Been wearing mine for about 5 months. The best I can feel about it is Meh. So annoying that it still doesn't sync DND, vibrate, and Bedtime mode. You'd think the most basic of functions. Overall it doesnt add much value and I may just stop wearing a smart watch altogether.
