As an owner of RS 6001s, I can say this is definitely inline with what infinity was doing 30+ years ago for absolute fidelity. I demoed these and they sound superb!!!
I have a pair of them with NAD C388 Amp, they deliver it, mission accomplished. really great detailed sound, you can hear smallest sounds played. good for Martin Logan.

I have been seriously considering these ML motion 60xt and the klipsch RF7iii. I haven't heard or seen anything that sways me one way or the other. Your blessed... These speakers have to be the prettiest speakers I have seen and they sound amazing. Thanks for sharing on your channel you always have great content. Can you do a sound demo in stereo and theater mode.
Concerning the Martin Logan 60XTI. I have ordered several pairs of these speakers. Let me 1st say these things sound absolutely amazing best tweeters I've ever heard. When on boxing several pairs of these speakers I have noticed especially on the Top front corner Of all the speakers I have unboxed some worse than others the corners are either rubbed slightly raw or Slightly dinged. My conclusion to this ongoing problem is the foam protecting the tops and bottoms of the speaker Are rideing on the corners. Easily fixed During packaging. If the company would drill out all 4 corners top and bottom into the foam.this would relave prussure on all all four corners. did I happen to see the same corner problem during your unboxing ..let me know .I have ordered a nother set from a different company. .hoping for better. thanks
Finally, i am relieved.I am trying to study and understand the concept of audio system since i dont know much.I. bought the Martin Logan motion 40 and the slim xl but i always feel i made the wrong choice because all i hear is the Klipsch, Svs etc.Though my set up is not what you have but just because you and other few people have reviewed the Martin Logan i am certain it is up to par with some speakers. Thanks a lot.Keep up with the good work.
I purchased the previous generation motion LCRs (motion 60xts & 50xt center), as i was looking for a more refined top end, getting away from brighter treble. Im loving them so far. I had some much older def tech biploars, and loved the wide soundstage. The MLs provide much better imaging and midrange precision without sacrificing that spacious front stage.

I'm finally getting started with a audio system, I got an Integra 3.2 receiver a pair of Motion 20 tower speakers and a Motion 6i center speaker. My hope is to get a pair of Motion 4i surround speakers soon, and a 600 Subwoofer. For now I have two KLH small height front speakers and two large Jensen rear speakers.

I much prefer the classic and vintage looks of this Motion series (red oak) to the gaudy looks of the new series. The 60 and 50 XTi were both also an excellent buy on closeout. Big step up from the Klipsch 280f! 👍
I agree the 60XTi would be a massive improvement over the 280F, especially in the midrange. I absolutely love the white F200’s. Gorgeous, classy and sound fantastic
@@Youthman - Yep the white finish on the F200’s definitely look stunning as well. I would be afraid of getting them marked up in the family zoo! Question. I have a pair of Martin Logan Motion 4i's and would like to find a sub for those speakers. In your opinion which would be a better sub- the Martin Logan Dynamo 1100x or the SVS PB2000 Pro Series?
I was going to get a pair of Klipsch R7’s now I saw these. They are at the same price point I’m upgrading from the klipsch 8000f’s. Which one would buy for listening for all types of music??
I haven't had a lot of time comparing them but initial impressions is the ML have better midrange. Vocals sound amazing. RF7 have that bottom end slam and a larger sound stage. It really depends on what your ears prefer.
I just purchased the 60xti's for stereo music. My HT is all Klipsch (RF-7iii, RC64iii, and RP600Ms all across). Just give me your bottom line opinion, should I leave setup as is, or move the ML to HT duties (mixed w my Klipsch RP600Ms) and bring my RF7s for stereo music? I do 80/20 movies to music. Thanks youthman!
I think you’re going to really like the 60XTi’s. Honestly, they’re fantastic speakers and they have a better mid range in my opinion. Bottom end is a tad bit better with the 7III’s but not a massive difference. The style and finish on the 60XTi’s are gorgeous in Mahogany
@@Youthman so if you were me would you bring those in the HT and bring my klipsch out for occasional 2 channel music? I like big thundering sound for HT.
Would you say the clarity in the high end is better than your Klipsch? I have some RPs right now, and, while the horns have a nice impact, there's a noticeable difference in detail when compared to my speakers with folded tweeters. Thanks!
@@Youthman Thanks, and after some further research, it seems these are pretty much just cosmetic upgrades to the XT. That's unfortunate, but the XTs are pretty cheap right now. I might just save up and check out their electrostats. Cheers.
Would have liked to have heard these speakers in a music a HT demo... I've always liked ribbon tweeters for music and I think I did hear them in a HT setup long ago. Clarity unmatched. No harness or bright ness as heard with most horn or aluminum tweeters. Ribbon and silk-dome tweeters..are the way to go...at least to my ears. Do the Motion line have elevation speakers? Nice to have a complete one brand/series...though I guess you could go with a different brand for height speakers. Less important.
I have some Emotiva Stealth 8s on my desktop with similar tweeters. I'm going to have to take a strong look at these ML towers. I love those tweeters. So much charity. The Emotiva HT towers are decent, but not as serious as their Stealth series, which is apparently discontinued now.
Despite the level of jealously, I get from watching your reviews I still continue to watch your channel. Thanks for being so informative and educational. You make a great teacher (whether you know it or not :) PS. Someone needs to get you a box cutter for Christmas...way easier to cut that packaging tape :) Merry Christmas Youthman
I upgraded my motion 50 and 60 xt to the B + W 702 S2'S and the matching large center, however I kept the martin logan fx2's and fx because bowers stopped making there bipole speaker, it still sounds great though
Main Source tell me, how do your 702's sound compared to 60 xti? I am sitting with 2 different quotes for 702's and 60XTI. Both these sound amazing. Money is not an issue. I watch movies 99% and 0,5% off and the 0,5% music.
I have the motion 60xti speakers I am tempted to get the jtr /215 noesis For gt I have the jtr 2400 subs is it a huge difference in dynamics I’m really interested in your opinion
@@Youthman awesome thank you for responding I’m kind of between jtr or maybe tekton moabs I haven’t heard either one but I want a great punch for theater and I also love music I wanna listen to both before I buy and jtr being my first choice of course. But it is a bit of a stretch money wise but I want end game speakers :)
I haven’t heard the Moabs so I’m not sure how they compare. I have used the phrase “End Game” when referring to the JTR systems I have experienced (including my own). I do not see me “upgrading”
Same price range as rf7iii. I got all klisch thanks to youthman. Maybe you can give us your opinion on there differences. Not asking for side by side comparison. Way to much work!!!
If you end up buying them on Amazon, I would grateful if you were to click on any of my amazon affiliate links in the description before you make your purchase. Thanks and good luck with your decision
Smoke is correct. It’s like asking Which is better, a truck or an SUV? There’s simply no way to quantify that. It depends on the person’s needs and preference.
anyone who has this center speaker know what the height of the REAR for the 50xti is ? I know the front height...just need the rear..thanks for any help
If you have a smaller room sure, but if you want big sound there is no match for horns...IMO. And I'm pretty sure that commercial movie theaters are 50/50 between Klipsch and JBL...both horn loaded speakers.
@@Youthman He is right, you have listened to a lot of speakers at this point. If you had to replace your Klipsch today, what speaker of the ones you have reviewed would it be....
I've drifted from Klipsch a few times. I've had 803D3's and Ultra Towers, now I'm back with Klipsch and I don't see myself leaving again. Those La Scala's will be tough to beat - he'll always find himself yearning for the dynamics of the horns. They're simply more exciting.
The ML have a much more refined sound, smooth midrange and absolutely gorgeous finish. The Ultras have more bottom end. Overall, the ML are a much better speaker.
Love my RF7 III, the ML had better midrange due to the 3-way design and love the sound of the AMT tweeter. Absolutely cannot go wrong with either the RF7 III or 60XTi
Awesome! I’m currently demoing the ultra towers and so far love them. I also have a Klipsch RP8000f setup. Sounds like they’re missing something (hollow). Just keeping my options open.
Even with the first speaker you could tell they are weighty and meaty, much more so than anything entry level. Definitely a positive having a strong, dead, robust cabinet as it's usually the starting place of cutting costs.
Currently I do not have any plans to. I have reviewed a ton of SVS gear and have begun to review other brands as well to help balance out the channel content
Man those are quite expensive, but i bet they go well with one of them big emotiva mps, and them marantz dac/processors for preamp lol. Cost more than a car to get a setup like this but at least they will last you for the rest of ur life .
You do t have to have Martin Logan Atmos speakers to have Atmos. It might be better to have all the same brand speakers but it certainly can be done with other brands with great results
You probably wanted to throw rocks at the Klipsch stuff after listening to these :-). Logan has these made overseas, if they were made in Kansas they would cost $8k a pair plus...and be worth it even then.
great video as always.i had martin logan odyssey 3 years ago.very good speakers and natyral sound.but they coudnt take the place of my klipsch klf-30 theater system.difficult to drive. m.l. are not good for every kind of music, like rock, pop, metal etc.for me klipsch are better for theater systems
@@Youthman But, I mean, it's physically impossible since one side of the speaker is touching the floor. The box itself could crack open though. Anyway, I enjoy your videos, and since I'm not a physicist I won't argue. :)
I'm really disappointed in the new finish on these. The last model had that absolutely beautiful red finish that I loved. These ones just look like a regular veneer that really doesn't stand out much to me.
Youthman i do think they're beautiful in person as well, and honestly better than most other speakers at the same price point. I just think they went down a notch from the nice glossy finish that they had before.
Youthman ah okay. It was basically the same thing but glossy. It just made them look really nice in my opinion. Also, great video! I hope you see a chiropractor regularly after moving all these speakers around haha
That glossy finish from last model is fragile quality. It breaks and cracks easily. lots of them on ebay with cracks and bruises either during shipping or at home. Now I suspect thats the real difference gone into the new model. Real wood finish and no glare coming from lights in the room/TV.
If you want there's this song called zhao cong -herdsman sound of China . It really brings out the best in these speakers imo ua-cam.com/video/AbjAZP5kUMQ/v-deo.html
Thanks for a good open box preview Youthman. I can't wait to see your final review. I'm waiting to see your review there's not much youtube information out about the new xti line. I'm going to put together a 7.2.2 setup together with the Martin logan slim xl on my rear wall for my back channel. ua-cam.com/video/moJju0ZqwfE/v-deo.html. I'm also waiting on that new Nad digital front face receiver to come out later this year to pair with these Martin Logan's. I've always been a techie somewhat all my life like yourself. 😁
@Youthman Do you ever get to enjoy your own setup? Seriously! You're always reviewing something or another, so idk when you have time to use your own equipment.
Haha it’s a challenge for sure but honestly, I love hearing other systems in my room. It provides me with experiences that most people do not have an opportunity to have and also helps me to appreciate quality gear from other brands and appreciate my very own system.
Ugh. I hate watching youthman. Every single time I watch a video I spend money and upgrade. These videos just show me everything I'm lacking. These 60xti look really nice. I am not satisfied with my Klipsch RP8000F. They sound muddled, drives me nuts. With the rest of my system being Klipsch: RP504C, 4 RP502S and 4 RP500SA 2 SVS PB3000. Any thoughts how these would sound with the 60XTI?
LOL. I didn’t feel the RP-8060FA were muddled. What receiver or pre/pro are you driving them with? Do you have any acoustic treatments? Remember if your room sounds bad, it doesn’t matter what speakers you put in there
@@YouthmanSorry just found this reply in my spam folder. I went to audioholics and chatted with some people there. They had several comments and recommendations. For one, I pulled them out of the corner. they were tucked in a bit too much. Second, I did not have my Crown XLS amp set up right. I didn't realize there were settings for the right AND left channels, so when I set it up I actually only set up one speaker. Those 2 changes made a world of difference.I still wasn't completely satisfied. Sounds GREAT for home theater, but 2 channel music,? I wanted better. The martin Logan 60 XTI's I demo'd were not an upgrade, at least not enough of an upgrade, from my 8000f's. I shopped around and demod B&W's Paradigm, Revel.....Yeah some pretty pricey speakers. I found a deal that I slept on for 4 days and gave myself every opportunity to talk myself out of it. Even gave myself an out, surly they won't except my low ball offer? I have no problem buying pre-owned with a warranty. So I bought a pair of 4'9" tall 160 pound each, Revel Salon 2's. And to drive those, a store demo 400 watt per channel @ 8 ohms Anthem STR power amp. They threw in a pro-ject pre box s2 dac and all my rca and speaker cables. $13k out the door. Yes not even in the same ball park as the 60xti's. And yes, I have been blessed, God is good He blessed me the opportunity to be able to make this purchase. Music has never sounded so good. I have an all new appreciation for 2 channle stereo. Keep making video's Youthman, I'll keep watching and spending :-) it's a disease.
For those who are strictly interested in watching movies, sports, and gaming, Klipsch, SVS, Monolith, RSL surround speaker systems will do the trick at a good bang for your buck. Unfortunately there is a middle ground such as these Martin Logan speakers who attempt to bridge the gap between home theater speakers and higher end audiophile level speakers. Most of these middle of the road speakers are neither great home theater speakers (they lake dynamic output), and they fall short on true hi-fi sound quality. For those of us who love to listen to our music in both two channel and surround then the price tag for true hi-fi speakers is quite high. Usually $5,000 just for the main two channels.
A good speaker is a good speaker, there's no such thing as "these are good for movies and these are good for music." Movies contain plenty of music and both movies and music need plenty of dynamic range. All the brands you listed will have great sound quality. Many speakers in this price have great fidelity and you hit a law of diminishing returns as you go up in price - that's more true today than it's ever been in the past. When you get to more expensive speakers you really get into esoteric differences which most (if not all) will not hear in blind listening tests. Been there, done that. It's amazing how different speakers sound when you can't see them or know how much they cost. Very humbling too. I have some relatively expensive speakers, but some of that expense is justified by the fact that they're made out of solid walnut, which adds nothing to sound fidelity.
By "these", I mean how does the entire system sound for movies. I have only heard the 60XTi. I may connect the 50XTi and find it is lacking in clarity of dialogue or the surrounds might not be up to par. I don't expect that but of course anything is possible.

woud these match great with new marantz cinema 50 reciever
Can you elaborate a little more on the fx2 please
I upgraded my motion 50 and 60 xt to the B + W 702 S2'S and the matching large center, however I kept the martin logan fx2's and fx because bowers stopped making there bipole speaker, it still sounds great though
B&W also makes great speakers
Main Source tell me, how do your 702's sound compared to 60 xti? I am sitting with 2 different quotes for 702's and 60XTI. Both these sound amazing. Money is not an issue. I watch movies 99% and 0,5% off and the 0,5% music.
I have the motion 60xti speakers I am tempted to get the jtr /215 noesis For gt I have the jtr 2400 subs is it a huge difference in dynamics I’m really interested in your opinion
I believe even the 212RT would be a significant improvement over the 60XTi
@@Youthman awesome thank you for responding I’m kind of between jtr or maybe tekton moabs I haven’t heard either one but I want a great punch for theater and I also love music I wanna listen to both before I buy and jtr being my first choice of course. But it is a bit of a stretch money wise but I want end game speakers :)
I haven’t heard the Moabs so I’m not sure how they compare. I have used the phrase “End Game” when referring to the JTR systems I have experienced (including my own). I do not see me “upgrading”
@@Youthman I’ll definitely check them out thanks
Good looking speakers three... Well done video sir
Thanks
Same price range as rf7iii. I got all klisch thanks to youthman. Maybe you can give us your opinion on there differences. Not asking for side by side comparison. Way to much work!!!
Thanks. I am curious how they compare to my RF7 III
Love your channel. This is off topic but will you be doing a review of the new SVS PB-2000 pro in duel subwoofer set up?
At this time, I do not have plans to review the PB-2000
Ok thx
Did you hook these up to seperates? Asking cause I'm considering buying the AV7705 and MM7055 with this set
Yes I’m running them with my Marantz AV7705 and Monolith 11X amplifier
If you end up buying them on Amazon, I would grateful if you were to click on any of my amazon affiliate links in the description before you make your purchase. Thanks and good luck with your decision
I work for an Audio/Video Company. To get a "good deal" have to but it through my company lol. But will do if I ever see something we don't sell
How easy did the FX2 wall mount?
These towers and CC would be a worthy upgrade over my current Infiniti Beta 50s and 360 CC
I would think so too
Can you use banana plugs for connection?
which one is better Klipsch or Martin Logan?
The only way to answer that question is to hear them in person, and it's up to you to decide which one you prefer. They sound totally different.
Smoke is correct. It’s like asking Which is better, a truck or an SUV? There’s simply no way to quantify that. It depends on the person’s needs and preference.
@@Youthman thanks,, I was impressed to see your klipsch setup,, then after purchase like you klipsch Dolby Atmos
anyone who has this center speaker know what the height of the REAR for the 50xti is ? I know the front height...just need the rear..thanks for any help
What in ceiling speakers do you think would work best with that ml motion’s set up
I’m not sure if Ml has any in-ceiling speakers. If not, you will need to look at another brand for them
What mount should I get for epson 5050
You start reviewing a bunch of different speakers you are going to end up replacing your klipsch 👀
If it happens, it happens. I have always loved the Klipsch sound but can certainly appreciate the sound of other great speakers
Nothing in particular. The 60XTi have the best sound for 2ch that I have reviewed (compared to the SVS Ultra Towers, KLH Kendall).
I've drifted from Klipsch a few times. I've had 803D3's and Ultra Towers, now I'm back with Klipsch and I don't see myself leaving again. Those La Scala's will be tough to beat - he'll always find himself yearning for the dynamics of the horns. They're simply more exciting.
been eyeing these...how is it different from the XT models?
According to Martin Logan, most is cosmetic upgrades
@@Youthman how's the bass from the towers?
For music, they provide very smooth, but generous amounts of bass. I could easily enjoy them for 2ch without a subwoofer.
@youthman How do you like them compared to the SVS Ultra tower?
The ML have a much more refined sound, smooth midrange and absolutely gorgeous finish. The Ultras have more bottom end. Overall, the ML are a much better speaker.
Just seen your other review of the RF7III. How do you like those compared to the ML motion?
Love my RF7 III, the ML had better midrange due to the 3-way design and love the sound of the AMT tweeter. Absolutely cannot go wrong with either the RF7 III or 60XTi
Awesome! I’m currently demoing the ultra towers and so far love them. I also have a Klipsch RP8000f setup. Sounds like they’re missing something (hollow). Just keeping my options open.
how would you compare the JTR's to Martin Logan's?
JTR are in a whole different league. The 60XTi are more similar in performance to the Klipsch RF7 III.
@@Youthman if you could choose any side speakers along your seating for your theater what would they be? The same for over head speakers?
Eventually I want to get (8) JTR 110-HT-SL www.jtrspeakers.com/new-index
Even with the first speaker you could tell they are weighty and meaty, much more so than anything entry level. Definitely a positive having a strong, dead, robust cabinet as it's usually the starting place of cutting costs.
They feel solid
You going to review the SVS SB2000 pro or anything in that series?
Currently I do not have any plans to. I have reviewed a ton of SVS gear and have begun to review other brands as well to help balance out the channel content
@@Youthman Ah I suppose that does make sense. Love the Martin Logans too!
@@Youthman
Smart! Don't become an SVS hor!🤗😉😇 They make great products, but so do a lot of other companies as well!🤔🤫😆
Man those are quite expensive, but i bet they go well with one of them big emotiva mps, and them marantz dac/processors for preamp lol. Cost more than a car to get a setup like this but at least they will last you for the rest of ur life .
For a 5-channel home theater setup, no ATMOS, no GO! Tell em to add an ATMOS option if they have serious intentions to enter the home theater scene.
You do t have to have Martin Logan Atmos speakers to have Atmos. It might be better to have all the same brand speakers but it certainly can be done with other brands with great results
You can actually set up the Motion 4i's as Atmos Speakers! All you need is a mount.
hey are you gonna review the new POLK AUDIO Speakers?
They are not on the review schedule as of yet.
You probably wanted to throw rocks at the Klipsch stuff after listening to these :-). Logan has these made overseas, if they were made in Kansas they would cost $8k a pair plus...and be worth it even then.
Why would I throw rocks at speakers that I enjoy?
@@Youthman Just Messing with ya! ;-)
This speakers are sick and for the low price of $1700 a piece one day
great video as always.i had martin logan odyssey 3 years ago.very good speakers and natyral sound.but they coudnt take the place of my klipsch klf-30 theater system.difficult to drive. m.l. are not good for every kind of music, like rock, pop, metal etc.for me klipsch are better for theater systems
Wow... nice.. i like it
can you provide your contact number so I can help me find the best home theater speaker reference.
Interesting that the 60XTIs only weigh 65 lbs each. That's pretty light for a speaker that size.
I’m more concerned with how they sound than how much they weigh.
@@Youthman I have no doubt they will sound excellent.
5:01 When one side of the speaker touches the floor then it cannot slide out of the box. Just saying! 😃
Actually it can because the other side of the foam can pop out since it’s bendable
@@Youthman But, I mean, it's physically impossible since one side of the speaker is touching the floor. The box itself could crack open though.
Anyway, I enjoy your videos, and since I'm not a physicist I won't argue. :)
Al Biss haha no worries. We can agree to disagree.
@@Youthman You've got a beautiful mind sir! Thanks for understanding my misunderstanding. 😃
I'm really disappointed in the new finish on these. The last model had that absolutely beautiful red finish that I loved. These ones just look like a regular veneer that really doesn't stand out much to me.
I have zero issues with the finish. I think they are gorgeous in person.
Youthman i do think they're beautiful in person as well, and honestly better than most other speakers at the same price point. I just think they went down a notch from the nice glossy finish that they had before.
Gotcha. I haven't seen the previous models.
Those are sexy I was close to buying them 3 years ago.
These are new models. Maybe you Atmos thinking of the XT Series
@@Youthman yeah you are right.
If you want there's this song called
zhao cong -herdsman sound of China .
It really brings out the best in these speakers imo ua-cam.com/video/AbjAZP5kUMQ/v-deo.html
Love my motion 60xt towers.. the sensitivity is better on the 60xti
Hi Super, sounds like you might have missed the review that I posted 5 days ago - ua-cam.com/video/zJ7NmDUZS8E/v-deo.html
Martin Logan vs klipsch rf 7 iii
Comparing them now
@@michaelkreisel3573 That's fantastic! Excited for your new upgrades that have allowed you to enjoy music like you want it!
Hello youthman I listen to the Martin Logan 60 xti I wasn’t impressed for the price they asking for!
Everyone’s “Is it worth it” is different. You have to find what sounds best to your ears and work within your budget
Review please! :)
It’s in the works
Impresionante, han de sonar exquisito
Thanks David. Will have to see how well these perform for movies
@@Youthman my reply was to David, sorry about the confusion. The point is good speakers are good speakers.
