Being able to release water from the bottom of a pool is a fantastic addition. It really annoyed me that I was stockpiling water but I couldn't have tiered floodgates to let it out over time.
Yeah! It looks like the timberborn devs rewrote their water engine to allow these. The only options before were: 1: Use the dam trick, because they have a velocity limit. 2, Mechanical pump chain, 3, create and destroy levees. Really lookng forward to update 6.
You can auto build the blocks on dev mode by pressing ctrl while placing them, and also skip the delete confirmation by pressing shift while selecting them. No need to do each time finish now, or confirm delete. Just a tip, great video! Update 6 seems amazing, can't wait!
Almost? Slucies completely remove the need for that mod and I'm here for it. Plus I'm glad to see he did somthing I was thinking about. Putting them at the bottom and building flood gates on top to make a better dam🎉🎉🎉
Thanks! This was very helpful as always :) Aqueducts was something I probably wanted in the game since I've first played it and it's finally possible. In addition to the automation stuff this update is fire!
The changes make for so much more fun, especially stacking with the new platforms. Managed to build an entire city in a small area. Need to test an idea about a using the water sources and platforms now to make aquaducts that can work like a power station. Also I love the sluice, already automated it for the bad tides to make power almost consistent by rediverting. Industry never stops! EDIT! Tried it! you can use platforms and WATER WHEELS! Can have multiple layers on top of each other generating power. This is going to be insane!
The first time I asked a question about Timberborn online it was because I'd tried making an aqueduct using levies and it wasn't working. That was ages ago. I'm so glad that we can finally do this! Edit... for the pool in the sky... something I do pretty regularly is I place water dumps so that they can fill 1 or more levels of water, but so that they eventually flood, which turns them off. I use it to keep them from wasting water once I reach the desired height. I did that with water pumps when they didn't go as deep, having different rows of pumps at different water levels and with different worker priorities.
Wait, does this mean that water on multiple levels is a thing now? I thought the Timberborn developers weren't interested in doing that. Good to see it's happening!
Me encantó rsta actualización, el cambio en el agua, permite hacer muchas cosas, bastantes interesantes, los acueductos son solo el comienzo. Se pueden hacer bloqueadores de flujo para eliminar por completo la aparición del agua mala.
The sluices are an extremely good thing. I’m just playing on the experimental to have fun with it. Building a mega damn with the sluices makes the game so much easier. Having a flood gate at the end of you water flow and sluices at the start of it so you always have your water supply as 95% full all the time and diverting the bad water when it comes with sluices is great too. No need to close off all flood gates at the start of the drought and forgetting to open them in the wet just makes the game not as good and will play on the experimental until its release now
Mi current Dam in Hard mode is 7 blocks deep. I want to never run out of water in a drought again 😀 (In a 30 Day Drought evaporation is already 1-2 blocks!) Currently I use machanical pumps (which can pump 6 deep with the Iron Teeth to pump the water into my colony (since the flood gates only go 3 deep). The new water release gates look like a way better solution!

same i would have resources and beavers but game mechanic wouldnt allow for 1 billion year beaver water act dam to be built.
Absolutly agree! Update 6 looks amazing

I knew about Shift but had no idea about Ctrl. Thank you
With the sluice you could almost get rid of the advanced floodgate mod to help with bedtides.
Almost? Slucies completely remove the need for that mod and I'm here for it. Plus I'm glad to see he did somthing I was thinking about. Putting them at the bottom and building flood gates on top to make a better dam🎉🎉🎉
Sluice are game changing. And there is no need for advanced floodgates
Thanks! This was very helpful as always :)

Glad you found this video helpful. This is probably the best update so far
You made my day sharing all these updates. So excited to play more Timberborn!
Glad you enjoy it 😊

It works!? Ohh my god, thats fantastic

We got aqueduct now. I bet the whole water rework took a lot of time.
That's smart
Wait, does this mean that water on multiple levels is a thing now? I thought the Timberborn developers weren't interested in doing that. Good to see it's happening!
It's a thing now and it works so well!
0:25 you pronounced it correctly. It's weird because it is a loanword.
Thanks man 🙂
When I heard about the sluices I squealed for joy, now I can have a singular channel that separates badwater from good.
YES and it's so well made. It's an amazing addition
Thanks for putting out these informative videos. I don't think anyone does it as well as you do.
Thank you for the kind words 😊
We have an aqueduct????? It's been the most requested feature in forever!
Aqueduct are here and they are awesome
FINALLY all the builds I tried that doesn't worked will work on the next update
Absolutly. Update 6 is just fantastic
We are all dam lucky. Have a happy & safe fourth of July everyone.
Absolutly man
Oooh I’m so excited for this update!!!
Everyone loves the new update! It's freaking good

Absolutly! It's a huge update to the water system and it's going to be amazing
Amazing video thank you !!
Wait… water can go aquaducting now? Wonderful!
Ohhh yes!

Absolutly agree with you. Sluice is a fantastic addition to the game. So much possibility for automatisation
Thank you Zeeeti
Thank you for watching 😊
man the sluice is great
They are amazing!
You still haven't tested the new Power shafts?
Granted the new water is more important.
No I havnt. This video was made before the new vertical power shafts
finally we can make a proper aqueduct
Yeaaa! and it works great
Can you post the link to the reddit image on 6:23? Thanks for the video
It was long time ago, dont remember what I saw
Finally worth changes, so i can build canal without digging the land 🤣
Its so much nicer now!

So many new possibilities for you in the update 6. It's going to be good
My timberbone has no slulce and impermeable floor
Are you using a different mod?
It's a new feature in Update 6
Wait, is the update out yet cause my game is still on 5.0
You can try it in experimental branch.
Does the cultivator deposit trees and bushes and everything throughout the map that's affected area?
No, it's purely "cosmetic" and for the well-being bonus.
That would be so great to have
when will the update go out?
I dont know. They usually have about 2 months test period
@@itszeeeti oh, ok. thanks
sadly this will make the mod of metal gates obsolete
But that's okey. Now more people with play with new features and mod maker can make other mods
Nice
💯💯
I just bought game and there is no sluice???
It will be out in the next update, in game properties you can choose experimental branch if you want to try it now
@@itszeeeti oh ok thanks
A bad fix for a bad update, who asked for bad water in the first place =(
I enjoyed bad water. Drought was an easy challenge to survive
