The gastric glands are of three kinds: (a) pyloric, (b) cardiac, and (c) fundus or oxyntic glands. They are tubular in character, and are formed of a delicate basement membrane, consisting of flattened transparent endothelial cells lined by epithelium.

To illustrate the relationship between enzymes and ph , consider the enzyme salivary amylase. The optimum ph for salivary amylase is achieved in the mouth, which is the place where it breaks down starch into sugars(maltose). Also, trypsin and pepsin both are enzymes in the digestive tract which break the protein chains into amino acids. But due the the difference in the ph level pepsin works in highly acidic conditions of the stomach i.e 1.5 ph level whereas trypsin works in the small intestine , which has a ph level of about 8.

Microvilli are tiny little microscopic projections that exist in, on and around cells. OR. On each of the villi there are even smaller folds that stick out like fingers . These are called microvilli.
    1. It increases the surface area of the cell.
    2. These are also useful for absorption and secretion functions.
    3. They absorb more and more nutrients .

The inner lining of the small intestine has numerous finger like projections called villi which increase the surface area for absoption. They are richly supplied with blood vessels and this help take the absorbed food to each and every cell.

The function of bile salts is to solublize ingested fat and fat soluble vitamis , faciliating their absorption. These also make the acidic food alkaline for the pancreatic enzyme to act.

The glands located in the stomach are:-
    Cardiac glands(secrete mucus)
    Fundic glands( secrete HCl)

    Mam please tell
1.What are the adaptations of leaf for photosynthesis?
2.Forms in which plants absorb nitrogen.

Adaptations for photosynthesis: large surface area, and contain openings, called stomata to allow carbon dioxide into the leaf and oxygen out. Nitrogen is absorbed by plants as : Plants absorb nitrogen from the soil in the form of nitrate (NO3−) and ammonium (NH4+). In aerobic soils where nitrification can occur, nitrate is usually the predominant form of available nitrogen that is absorbed.
