I bought this mower in the beginning of June and it is my first robot mower purchase and I do like this mower a lot. I really haven't had any problems with it getting stuck or any other issues. What sold me on this mower was the LIDAR. I don't know why this isn't used more. Hopefully more mowers will adopt this technology. I would recommend this mower, but like anything these mowers are tools and what might be right for one person's lawn may not be right for another.
What I'd like to see is extendable side cutters (with soft flexible plastic blades) for dealing with edges - similar to robot vacuums with extending brushes/mops. We're hopefully going to see something like that soon.
I reached out to Dreame on this question and this is their response: "For A1, right now it only supports up to 2000m2 space and only one map/zone. For next gen, we will have bigger zone and multi-maps."
@@ImageMatrixTech Poop ... Please tell me net gen will be a software upgrade, and I won't need another unit. I just paid for this one and it hasn't even been delivered yet. the thought it is already redundant is frightful. I live in a small yard, but it will still be three zones, and a solid physical watch when it is out the front all the time. I live in Townsville, this is a non-delightful city to live in due to the high crime level. Animals will smash your car windows just for the dumpers in your ash tray, let alone if they see a packet of cigarettes. To buy this I have already thought to bring the unit in every night. The criminals here are always around, and they don't care if they cannot use or sell the item they stole.
Yes, it still works. It's something I did not test but Dreame confirmed to me as long as the A1 is successfully paired with the APP via Bluetooth, mapping can be conducted. Once the mapping is complete, you can activate a mowing schedule, and A1 will mow to the set times even without a connection. You can also start tasks directly using the buttons on the robot.
Unless you've got a very small dog, it will run straight over it. If I haven't cleaned up my Great Dane dumps it will not avoid it. Actually @7:14 you can see the right wheel carrying a bit of Dane poop. The good thing is you can really pressure hose the hell out of the A1 to clean it on the run or stationary.
Just got this on sale for $2000 AUD, I was going to wait for the A2 but at that price why not!

Been looking at robo mowers a lot. How does this one handle shady trees and leaf/twigs debris mixed in the grass?
Could it handle a 3000 m2 yard? maybe if i split it in 2 zones?

@@ImageMatrixTech Any idea when 2nd Gen is expected? Maybe spring 2025?

Does it work when the internet goes out?

What about dog poo?
