I refurbished our sewing machine in the original black keeping the original gold art work. It was hard work but worth the time and effort. What a wonderful machine this is!! 🎉
The custom red makes your collection look complete. I love my black Featherweight, and it works well after a class teaching me how to keep it in shape.
Dear Cindy, Since you were kind enough to comment on this video about our modest Featherweight collection, I thought you might enjoy seeing our newest addition. The video is only 1 minute long. I hope you enjoy it. ua-cam.com/video/sRJ27CTM9jw/v-deo.html
Great video lol... I get the insanity :=_ when I finally found my celery green I was complete :-) lol if three are a complete collection hehe then my wifes 22 plus her 5 222k's... is just insanity lol... (I admit we may have gone overboard a little....) I built her a gorgeous peach 221 with gold metal flake that turned out fantastic... since I have a mechanical background we then decided to strip a few down, repair any defects and paint for people that want them whatever color scheme they might wish for. There is a local person here that paints them but omg with no prepwork and they don't take them apart or fix bubbled spots first. We learned a lot on what not to do from those. You did a great job with your candy apple red. I'm doing a color change next ... those too require a lot of testing before painting. Should look amazing too...
Wait a minute. Five 222ks? FIVE 222Ks!!! Really?! Wow. That's impressive. I wish you'd shoot some video of your machines and post them. I'd like watching them and I'm sure many other people would as well. Thanks for the comment!
Since you were kind enough to comment on this video about our modest Featherweight collection, I thought you might enjoy seeing our newest addition. This one has quite a bit more customization than our candy apple red machine. The video is only 1 minute long. I hope you enjoy it. ua-cam.com/video/sRJ27CTM9jw/v-deo.html I'm almost afraid to ask, but can't help myself. Have you picked up any more Featherweights?
I'm sorry to write that I haven't. I tried several on-line searches and checked through our reference books and couldn't find a reference for them. Several manufactures, like National and Domestic, made dozens of different types of machines and labeled them with any name the buyer requested. It could be yours is one of these. I see you have a UA-cam channel. If you could make and post a short video showing your machine from several angles and then send me a link to it, I'd be happy to see if I can figure out what it is. Thanks for commenting!
@@hollynumkena491 Great! I believe what you have is a National VB-TT Type 4 sewing machine. The VB means 'vibrating shuttle' and the TT means 'top tensioner." If you slide out the metal plate in front that covers the shuttle, you should be able to see a 7-digit serial number stamped into the front edge of the body. If this number is around 2,100,000, your machine should date to around 1913. I hope this helps!
