Welcome to another episode of Adventures With The Cohns. On today's adventure, we're unboxing an Ozark Trail 11 Person Instant Cabin Tent and see how quickly we can get this up. We've never had a tent before, so unboxing the tent was an adventure in itself. The best part about this tent is it gives us plenty of space, and we don't feel congested inside.
No matter if you've had tents in the past or looking to get another one for camping, in this video we share our experience with unboxing a brand new Ozark Trail tent, the look from the inside, and how a family can use this tent on a camping trip to have fun!

Would this tent be ok in cooler nights? Upper 50’s?
I’ve got two “6 person” Ozark Trails Dark Rest cabin tents for my family of 5. One for the boys, and one for my wife, daughter, and myself. The general rule of thumb is for minimum comfort and space subtract 1 person for every 3 a tent says it can fit. For ideal space and comfort subtract 2 for every 3. A 1 person tent is barely that, and in all honesty a 2 person tent is really a 1 person tent. To get a maximum life expectancy out of your tent you’ll want to treat it at least once a year with a tent solar and water proofing spray. I like Nikwax myself.
Oh and a 6 person cabin tent is extremely comfortable for a solo camping trip, and even with a bad back, and knees I can have one of my tents completely pitched in less than 10 minutes by myself.

Is waterproof?
This tent has been rained on several times in our camping trips and is still a good tent for us to use after that.
everyone has something they are good at and buddy you are not the type of guy that can assemble something without reading the instructions first your forte must be something else but you'll get the hang of it
They say two minutes that just means after it stretched out and you lift it and pop it up but you’d have to be running to do even just that part in two minutes it’s a little misleading
I agree. I’ve never seen anyone get this up in 2 minutes, but at least it got up. Lol!
This was painful to watch
I saw a German man put this tent up by himself in five minutes. I don't think its really as hard as this guy is making it out to be.
It's not. I've seen at least three UA-cam videos of the unboxing and assembly of this tent, which is why I ordered the tent. This guy did not do his homework.
@@Ladypdj I got the tent went camping with a new born a few weeks ago. And pitched the tent in a few minutes. Really like this tent was very spacious. Only downside was how loud the bottom tarp is when you walk on it. But then again I have unrealistic expectations because I usually use a high quality teepee.
@@paleface4404 a helpful trick to silence the floor of a tent is to put down a mover’s blanket. The more it covers the floor the quieter it will be. Plus if you like to be barefoot inside the tent it’s easier on your feet.

That was too painful to watch. Instructions Matter.
For your first time ever setting up any kind of ⛺️, and not read the instructions, I just knew it would take you even longer. I had to laugh because this was me putting up a screen tent that I have put up several times before. 😆 Your wife in the background had me laughing so hard. 🤣 🤣 🤣 The struggle was real! 🤣 good thing you did this before you went camping.
He made that a lot harder than it needed to be… he would’ve had it up in 3 minutes had he glanced at them
This was like watching a monkey try to use tools! 🤣 But, good to know because I may have to do this by myself one day and, I don't read instructions either! 🤣
My kids laugh every time they see me throw the intructions from this video as well. This has been a good tent for us once I figured out how to set it up. 🤣

I judge how long it takes to set up a tent by how long I can hold my breath. I died 4 times during this set up..

I have a similar tent by the same company. Mines a 10 man cabin and it's easy with 1 person you just need to stake it down 1st. Mine doesn't have any extra rods at all. You just put it up and it comes with a room divider to attach on the inside for if you want 2 rooms.
I just discovered that’s what this extra material with a zipper was in my tent, I’m trying to find a video for a tent just like mine to see how to attach it. 🤣

My favorite part was where he skipped the actual assembly. Or maybe the part where he said there was a problem but didn't show the problem or the fix.

I see from your video that you have no experience in tents.
I have a similar tent and others with 3 rooms of the Ozark brand. I can tell you for sure that the store can be set up in 2 minutes, but you must study the correct way to set it up, which is on UA-cam in the manufacturer's channel and there are several more.
I found it very funny to see how you fought with the tent and I said who will win the tent or the human.

I unboxed this same tent last night. After it was out of the box 4 min it was up.. I bought a similar one two years ago an had the same issue of a leg on backwards.. good job
Thank you! Definitely not fun when you get a snag in the process, but once it’s done, the tent can now be used. 😊
So I have the same time I put it up make sure you put the fly on before you lift it and if you stretch it out and go to that centerpiece and just lift it straight up it kind of pops all out and then you stretch out the the legs get it up halfway if this is making sense put the flyer in and then stretch the legs out hope this helps

Thank you!! People don’t realize that tents don’t always come ready to just “pop up” and ready to be used. Especially when I had to unscrew the poles and rearrange them so that I can get the tent up. But it’s all good since we’re able to now use it and enjoy camping with it.
