I serve on the BOD for the club. The two main factors in the decision to not run at Twin Lakes anymore were: 1) Local authorities not allowing us to control the lake, meaning we can't tell kayakers, swimmers, fisherman, etc., to get off/out of the water. This makes it impossible to obtain insurance for that race site. 2) The crime rate in that area has risen dramatically. Some of our members have had their equipment stolen from that site in recent years, including boats, and some clubs' trailers have been broken in to overnight. Although RCU made the decision not to run there, other model boat clubs will be running there this year: Classic Thunder, NAMBA District 8, and Puget Sound Fast Electrics.
This was awesome!
Awesome video.
Very cool, I used to make hydroplanes out of styrofoam , paint them and power them with a model car drive train and 1 battery back in the early 70’s
Nice! I just had a 1982 1/8 scale Pay N Pak built...Can't wait to get it on the water! Anyone know of any RC clubs not too far from Astoria, OR?
Does anyone know why the RC Unlimiteds don't race at Twin Lakes in Marysville anymore? Seems like most of the races are in eastern Washington.

That is sad to hear, Thanks for the explanation. @@beaurarig2214
@@beaurarig2214 Can you recommend a RC Hydro boat builder? I would love to run a gas 1/8 scale or Electric on my pond.
