Nabla has quickly become one of my favorite eyeshadow formulas! I’ve recently not been into neutrals, but I wanted something to replace an old and boring Morphe palette- which was ok, but the formula was meh and the palette was a monstrosity. The Side by Side palette is bordering on large but its compact and easy to store. I love that there are so many different textures and finishes. If you are considering a neutral palette, I absolutely recommend this over Anastasia’s Soft Glam (which I still have and the mattes are good- but the shimmers just do not compare to Nabla). Also, I highly recommend Nablas’s single shadow “water dream” which amps up any neutral look with a ton of shine. Finally, what I like to do with neutrals is to add a pop of a vibrant color in the lower lash line or in the corners. I know some people want an all in one palette, but i don’t mind using this palette for my neutrals and using something else for a pop of a brighter color.
I would love more of your tips on eyeshadow strategies!! That is exactly what I need. Thanks for all your hard work, hope colourpop gives you a bit of a break for a bit!

I agree with you on all of your points. I have this palette and was so excited because of the different textures in the shimmers. The formula was lackluster and the mattes did not blend out as nicely as a lot of my other palettes. It isn’t terrible, but it isn’t great either. There are some things that are off in it, e.g. the lightest shades show up darker on my skin and don’t give me the inner corner highlight I need to complete a look and there are some weird undertones that are not flattering on my skin tone. Lastly, I hate that gold shade with a passion. It just doesn’t fit the color scheme, in my opinion!

This palette caught my eye the moment it came out. I am newer to make-up and have a much smaller collection so I still have room to grow. My collection has started off with cooler tones (Going Coconuts, Persona Identity One), so the colors here would bring some warmth and rosier tones. I have few more colorful palettes as well, but for an office look or wanting a quick, beautiful neutral - this looks like it will fit the bill for me.

She makes some really good points. That’s why I stopped buying pallets that are primarily likeable due to price. That’s why I don’t buy BH Cosmetics, Profusion, and drug store makeup anymore.

Hi Amanda! I think it would look really great on you if you added more of the crease color to your outer brow bone area to add lift to your eye shape. I learned that from Emily Noel! :)
I kinda feel they took the vibe from Colourpop Brown Sugar and added to it 🤔 And I agree that it costs more than makes sense for a basic neutral palette. Especially when we have Colourpop that makes awesome metallics and easy to work with mattes 🙂
I am impressed this palette performs better with a brush because I don't like using my fingers unless really necessary. But I definitely am going to pass on it. Although the grey shade is pretty.

I just got this one but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. Do you think the shimmers would have applied better to your lid had you used a packing brush instead of your fingers given that they swatched better with brushes?
I don't know how I missed this video. But I was just curious if you thought any of the shades in this palette are similar to the too faced born this way palette? I didn't get either but I wanted to get one palette to end this year on a positive note lol
So in summation, It’s laid out well, the color story is nice, it didn’t underperform, neutral one palette users will get a ton of use out of it, but it’s a no for you because “it didn’t stand out in the crowd.” 🤔 I left feeling a little confused on this one.
The quick and easy takeaway: If you have a lot of good neutrals, like I do, then you don’t need it. If you don’t have a lot of good neutral options yet, this is a great quality one to consider.
