We've got two sets of logs one directly downstairs from the other. Our installer had issues getting the upstairs one to work. In the process he synced the downstairs remote to the upstairs. We've been running up and turning it off every time we want to use the downstairs. It also made our thermostat remotes useless. I used your advice and fixed the issue in 1 minute. Got both my gas logs working after somebody told me the solenoid was shot by watching this video. It was the remote boxes it needed to be cleared out, thank you
Tried both the resync and the reset, didn’t work for me. All batteries are new. Receiver makes all the beeping sound, remote gives out a red light. But when I sync, no beeps are heard when I press the On button on the remote. Fireplace turns on manually. Help!!!
Thank you. I had no idea tv remote interference would do that. I tried to rest can. That didn’t work. Reprogram worked perfectly. The difference between last fall and this was that we bought a new smart tv. I subscribed and liked. Thanks again Pisano
If you take the batteries out of the remote (second 38 of video) before doing this, how is the remote turning the unit on when you have said nothing about when to put the batteries back in?

We tried this but our unit does not beep when the learn button is pressed… we tried replacing the batteries in both our remote and receiver but that didn’t help. The fireplace does turn on when we slide the button to On, but we just can’t get the remote to work anymore. Very frustrating, guess we will be calling a repair person haha
John, I have customer who has this exact same system. From time to time it will malfunction. If you press on, the dial will try to turn, but then a clicking sound is heard and it just won't be able to get past it. It just keeps clicking. If I reach down and turn it manually just a bit, it fixes the issue and it will function as designed. But then some time later, it happens again. I think it happens because this home owner is paranoid about fires, and she will mash that remote to off till the thing clicks and clicks and clicks in the off spot. It is almost as if she presses OFF so long that thing gets ratcheted to point where the motor just doesn't have enough ass to get it moving back the other way. Not sure if you understand my issue... but if you do, any thoughts?
Same for me. I have a Skytech remote, assuming the receiver box is from the same brand. I had to replace the batteries in the receiver box because they were badly corroded, so I thougt replacing the batteries were going to fix the fireplace not starting issue, but that didn't fix it.
You say take out the batteries but be careful when you move the lever from off to remote be careful not to turn the unit. How can that be with the batteries out? Shouldn't this all be done with the batteries in place?

This does work with a unit that you have just replaced the batteries in or having interference! Thanks saved me a call to the installer!
