Let's Look at Houses

Willi and I wrote and performed "Let's Look at Houses" as part of a songwriting retreat hosted by The House of Songs & FreshGrass Festival, September 2022. I thought it would be fun to write an updated old time country love ballad, sort of a la "You're The Reason Our Kids Are Ugly," by Conway Twitty/Loretta Lynn. Willi and I started it over zoom, and finished it in a hotel room. He had just driven from Tennessee that day, and after hauling his banjo, accordion, fiddle, guitar all out of the van, he was somehow still in good spirits and up for singing. I'm so glad we had the chance to hang out and write this song. This version is from my album On The Water, coming out March 8 2024.
