Yes unfortunately even if you try to remove iCloud it’s still technically on the previous owners iCloud. If you use this method and plug the phone into your computer it will still show activation lock.

No you shouldn't lose your data. Unless the app didn't finish downloading in which case it might not be there.

maimbo namonje unfortunately no, even if the person buys a new phone the iCloud will stay on both phones until they log out or remove it from their account.

If you purchased it and have proof. Go to Apple and let them know, it’s a long process but if you can prove it’s your phone they can unlock it for you

You’ll know if it’s bypassed because you won’t be able to use cellular, pop a sim in and it will not do anything. Also if you try to use Siri she will say she’s unavailable or can’t answer right now. If you need a concrete answer, connect to the computer.. open iTunes and it will tell you it’s activation locked

I am not sure. I don’t think cellular works at all, so even if you tried to use R-Sim, nothing will happen
@@IansTech When a phone is network locked , it shows the same bars. Calls do not work but USSD calls work and bring the menu from that particular network . An R-sim usually fixes that so i thought it was the same with an icloud bypassed phone .

There are sites that will let you look up the IMEI or serial number of the device and it can tell if it’s iCloud locked. Get the serial number from them to check.

Best ways to tell, pop a sim in.. if it does not show service it could be bypassed. Connect it to a computer, it will show activation lock in iTunes.
