Delete the installation package that you are using and download it again, if you created a USB bootable drive format it and create it one more time with a new copy of the OS X, I recommend you to download directly from Apple servers don’t use third party websites, you get that error because sometimes the installation package is damaged
@@NumberDZ I did it and didn't work😥, but I found on UA-cam a guy that shares how to fix this problem. Just go to terminal and switch the date of the download. Like I did it today 11/24/ 10:00/2020 put this data not 2 years ago and it is actually finishing the installation. @@TonyisToking I found out the problem, at least for me. I didn’t open the .pkg file to install the installer (I was making an installer for El Capitan) so make sure to open that file, and then go through the installation process for the installer. Then you can run the command. If u have any questions about that then just respond. I hope this helped!

I used an external hard drive to boot up my Mac that was having hard disk issues . I reinstalled Mac OS X Yosemite and the computer works again but now I'm not sure how to recover my files.
There are many videos on UA-cam on how to partition the drive and add multiple installation packages. I am not sure if you can mix it with windows installers, I am not familiar with windows computers and their software.

you could use a boot device that has Mac OS "lion" update 10.7.. then after you move to mountain lion. you're not stuck. you just are unable to netboot (booting without a physical boot drive) but if you're lucky enough just updating in that order may help you

You can download any OSX on Big Sur but you can’t open the installer, in this case you don’t need to open the installer, you simply need to download it and create the bootable drive, if your MacBook is a 2012 you can use internet recovery mode to install the OSX no bootable drive is needed
When I turn on my macbook it shows like a flashing file with a question mark in the middle does this solve it and if it does do I keep the USB drive in the laptop when I wanna use it everytime??
That means that there could be a problem with your hard drive, or you don’t have an operating system in it, you can try to restore the system and installing a new copy of the OS. You don’t need to keep the USB in the laptop after you install the new OS.
What if you are downloading a os from the App Store that is different from what you have installed for an earlier Mac that you want to create the usb installer for?
All depends on the OS that you want to install, most of them are 5GB and more, your 4GB won’t be enough. Also make sure to use an USB instead of micro SD, it will be more functional.
The codes are similar just change the first section of the code to the name of your OS X installer, I didn’t add them because Leopard and Lion are not very common anymore

what do i name my usb if i want os x maverick? I'm stuck I believe because when i erase the USB and rename I only get the option called OS X Extended(Journaled) not OS Extended(Journaled) like you showed. What should I do? If you want Mavericks replace “MyVolume” with this command, OS\ X\ Mavericks (Make sure to copy the entire code for Mavericks that is in the description of the video, if you miss a letter or number it is not going to work)

Screw that! just have a seperate USB stick for each os. If you must try putting multiple os's on one stick start with various linux distros.

You need to “burn” the dmg file to a disk but for that you need an optical disc drive there are some videos on UA-cam on how to do it

what do i name my usb if i want os x maverick? I'm stuck I believe because when i erase the USB and rename I only get the option called OS X Extended(Journaled) not OS Extended(Journaled) like you showed. What should I do? I'm doing this on a 2015 macbook pro and trying to install OS X Mavericks on an old iMac 2008 I got from someone.

If you want Mavericks replace “MyVolume” with this command, OS\ X\ Mavericks
(Make sure to copy the entire code for Mavericks that is in the description of the video, if you miss a letter or number it is not going to work)
Rename the usb after erase it to "Install OS X Mavericks" (Without quotes)
