"It's a projection of 1950s family structure onto the past" Yep. Also, of capitalism and market values. Though some have tried to argue with me that capitalism and the 1950s family structure have existed since paleolithic society...

I've had multiple white nationalist men rant at me about how I want to have sex with black men, which I've found quite bizarre. And my immediate visceral reaction to it is "This guy has some serious issues." None of these times have I mentioned either black men or sex, so it's just come completely out of nowhere, which suggests that it might be in their mind a lot. It seems kind of obsessive.

With it never occuring to them that the predominant majority of people who have better chances at romantic and sexual encounters statistically tend to be white men and women, as well as East Asian women (at least the lighter-skinned), its so ironic that the ones proclaiming to the supremacy and superiority of white people are ascribing black men who more desirability than they are socially credited with. I mean, if women really, really wanted black men as much as they said, my romantic and sex life would've been a lot less lonely, but when has that ever occurred to them?

@@alexmekuria748 True, I don't think it occurs to them. I think they don't really see beyond their own romantic and sexual failures.

@@alanamontero4743 Try telling them that. Like he pointed out, even if the sense of disenfranchisement is relative or perceived, there's always the potential for that kind of reaction. Though how it comes back to race for them, I'm sure it's this country's, or any country, long history of anxiety regarding that particular pairing. Way too many lynchings as evidence of that

I'm not a parent but have worked in childcare, studied child development, and have talked with many many parents. The unfortunate reality is that, unless you have support from extended family and/or have the money to pay for support (e.g. home cleaner, nanny, etc.), having two people work full time+ AND care for young children (especially very young children) AND keep house generally doesn't work very well. It's good for neither the kids nor the parents and puts far too much strain on the latter. Unfortunately, many families don't really have a choice under the current system, especially in countries like the US. There really is woefully inadequate support for families. And I think it is because, despite all the rhetoric about families, families aren't really valued and humans aren't really valued. Humans are seen and treated as units of production more than as beings with inherent worth and our own needs and desires.
The reality is that also, if you have a little child in very long hours of child care/daycare, unless they are in a top quality (usually expensive) centre with very high staff/child ratios, they're going to be mentally/emotionally neglected a lot of the time because the resources just aren't there so even if staff want to do better by the children they just can't. When, say, looking after several toddlers at once while also trying to fill in mostly pointless documentation, there is only so much attention you can give each child and you aren't able to adapt things to each child. I feel that a lot is being sacrified for efficiency and the bottom line and this also is a part of the problems inherent to the system. Meanwhile, even if care is outsourced, the more well-off you are the higher quality care your children are likely to get. This is even more the case in the US. Long hours of childcare are necessary for some parents but for many they don't have much choice - because the support just isn't there for them to make a different choice.

If tv crimes shows have taught me anything it's that open relationships or infildelity in general is step 1 to a boyfriend/ husband killing their wife. Also Dentists are the most likely women to kill their husbands for some reason, I assume because they really wanted to be doctors, or they're secretly getting high on their own supply. I don't know if male disenfranchisement is as much of a thing so much as that being single serial dating guys date women and begin to get frustrated at women the same way a gamer gets frustrated at games, single women serial daters begin to hate men the same way, they pin all their emotional baggage on their partner rather than 'settling' and putting effort into a less than perfect partner and their less than perfect home.

It reminds me of the short story Mountain Ways by Le Guin: " Marriage on O is a foursome, the sedoretu-a man and a woman from the Morning moiety and a man and a woman from the Evening moiety. You’re expected to have sex with both your spouses of the other moiety, and not to have sex with your spouse of your own moiety. So each sedoretu has two expected heterosexual relationships, two expected homosexual relationships, and two forbidden heterosexual relationships."

On a related note, menage erotica is quite popular with women and reverse harem is growing in popularity. Seems like a lot of women like the idea of multiple men, even if for most it's only fantasy.

I like the video, but it seems like it's about two years too late at least. I though the Pepe crowd disbanded.
