The West is in a state of hoopla not telling their subjects that this incursion into Russian territory is a flash in the pan, fireworks for the lovers of colours and sounds to lift them out of their misery for a day or two. The bill will come later with columns of coffins and funerals with the dead soldiers. We hear the Ukrainians do not even bother to pick up their dead from the fields; it's such an embarrassment to have to face the grim reality of defeat and disaster. Ukraine is not even close to winning. There are online maps of the fronts and battles they get updated almost hourly. Russia is advancing nonstop on almost every front. My guess would be that Russia is thinking the Ukrainians will either withdraw from Kursk or when it is convenient for Russia, they will cut off their logistic support and destroy them.

One thing that wasn't mentioned and I don't know how reliable it is but some of the independent newscasts have said that there are foreign soldiers in Ukrainian uniforms up in that area there that Ukraine has invaded and also that they have very Advanced weaponry so we'll see what happens I guess

Military "expert" Ignazio must have not been looking at the map. Kursk and its area is one of dozens of points of engagement. Russia dominates in all but Kursk where Russia decided to play defense in order to circle the Ukrainians. I do not have to draw a picture of what is going to happen, do I, Mr. Ignazio?
What is really worrying is that Sweden tried a similar strategy against Russia a long, long time ago...
The issue is if Russia doesn't want to keep a certain piece of land, they always strip it barren. It's a really really annoying tactic but it works because Ukrainian and Russian winters are notorious for being impossible to advance in, so the advancing side has to win within 8 months (Spring to the next Winter) or else the supply lines become too thin.
If Russian winters are not the hellscape they are, this war wouldve been over a year ago.
Ukraine is wrecking Russian bridges in Kursk Oblast... meaning that they are taking sensible precautions against an expected counterattack.... but here is the other side: Ukraine also has bridges, and they also need them. Logistics rule.
The more troops in the Kursk area, the fewer there are in Odessa. Russia is letting Ukraine stay in Kursk in order to eliminate more enemy combatants and weaken the southern and eastern lines. Russian advances in those areas are picking up speed so Ukraine will need to decide if the being in Kursk area is of any actual use.

The German 2025 aid budget was already overdrawn before it was finalized, so they will fund future aid from their EU contributions, and possibly from interest payments on seized oligarch assets, not from the Federal budget. That's all there is: they'll use a different budget to fund the aid.
