I appreciate you and your channel immensely. Have you ever considered doing a series of videos for those who utilize food banks? What to make with the food items regularly given can be challenging for many. And to create a variety of meals.

I'm so pleased you featured the importance of cash donations to food banks. People struggling with food insecurity deserve fresh perishable foodstuffs that banks can provide through their wholesale buying power. They also often purchase from local food producers, which helps support local economies.♥

I started specifically donating canned meats. There is a major lack of proteins in most food pantries. So much bread and carbs.

Our food pantry purchases canned meats and beans. They also have freezers full of meat. Ours is set up like a mini grocery store and our clients get to walk through with a cart and fill their boxes with the help of our volunteers.

So, i have an idea for you…. Here, in Arizona we have rolling brown outs due to our temperatures,(we have been over 113* for two weeks straight) so, I usually have 2-3 shelf stable meals in baggies, in my pantry in the event we cannot start the oven or open the fridge door. Like, emergency meals. We have a gas grill to cook, but no other appliances can be used. My idea (challenge) for you is to come up with 3 meals that i can keep in my pantry during an emergency electricity outage (temperature, bad weather, it could apply to almost any emergency situation). Growing up in Tulsa, we had a “fraidy hole” (tornado shelter) under our house that we stocked with shelf stable foods every February- you could think of that as a baseline. Good luck! You got this!

Peel the woody exterior of the broccoli stem, cut into sticks or chunks, and then steam until tender. It's actually sweeter and more delicious than the florets! I've also seen people cook broccoli stem sticks in the air fryer.

I thought of taking your chopped salad and using it like a "grinder salad" (adding what's usually in a grinder sub) and putting that in sub rolls, hot dog buns, wraps, etc with toppings of choice. I'm still seeking no cook options because salads get old. Meal in a popsicle? Lol. This heat is a killer.

Yet more recipes to add to my list of idea to expand my meal ideas. I get stuck in a rut on what I eat. Your capsule binder is where I got this idea from.
I get so many ideas from watching your videos as well as other within this platform. For instance I’ve got an abundance of zucchini and why not make it with the pasta or even make zucchini bread with a cake mix.
This video is a great source for someone like me who’s single and funds are low in the summertime or even stretching the budget during when I do have my income coming in. Before inflation I could budget 20 dollars a week for myself. The past few years I’ve been loosely following this and not really following a budget. I’d go to the store with an idea what I wanted to spend. I want to get back to budgeting and seeing if I can actually stick with my 20 a week for just me. I do have a well stocked pantry since I was building it up the past year. I’m sure I can actually achieve this.
