As a console darktide player, the zealot throwing knife is especially ass because the of the button layout. It’s the only grenade where this really matters, but trying to aim, move, and dodge while pressing the D-pad to throw it is really hard.
Im very good with throwing knives and I have to press down on my D pad to use them. You just have to get used to them and doing the penance helped me with them. Also you just line up the sights of your guns with the enemy and then press the button its rather easy.
@@cheese_man5105 there is only one button layout on console that allows you to dodge and jump with different buttons and its back button dodge or something like that. Mind boggling to me we cant customize controls and that out of 7 different schemes only one is worth using. Fatshark doing fatshark things.
@@TannerLindberg there is so much good information in your videos, helped me a ton and I keep finding new interactions as i watch this video (had no clue uncanny worked on your burn/blaze for example)

Most youtubers just give shit information and I am just sick of it to be frank. Thanks Tanner.
Sorry for the second comment, but i have to give props to the smoke grenade. During the summer, there was a patch where Fatshark buffed all the ranged enemies. After about a week, the patch was retracted cause ranged enemies were "too oppressive". One day during that week, I did 5 auric maelstroms in a row with randoms (solo queue), marksmans focus and smoke grenades. I basically moded your tryhard build for smoke nades (for fun). I cannot express how OP smoke was during that time. Throwing them in corridors and in front of ranged allowed us too move from section to section without a care. Ranged just ran in to get meleed or cut down as they came out of the smoke curtain. They have been consistent for me. I felt like such a commando during that time. Felt like playing on heresy diff.
When they work right for your team they are such a cool utility option. The only problem is it requires at least a bit of team coordination with movement and a lack of a teammate that is just mowing down ranged enemies.
Glad you're back in darktide man. I only found you after you'd backed out for your own mental which I respect. I struggle with self control and respect you coming back to something that was difficult for you. Shows a lot of growth to face that again. Thank you for sharing your expertise
JEFFICUS. Jokes aside, actually peak content. Points made and presented very well, the split on hyper optimized and more casual-friendly viability is very handy. Also mad props on the delivery, you are making great strides in making your arguments good in both form and content. Your efforts show, chief!
love when you're talking about Martyrdom you say "you can die in two hits from anything" and legit every single time I'm playing at low health I'm thinking just don't get hit twice like its a mantra. honestly tho as a martyrdom main, it needs a rework. imo some way to negate small hits, gold toughness, or cooldown reduction would be the biggest help. The play pattern is basically just play aggressively until you're low. Then when you're low use toughness damage reduction and Fury of the Faithful to keep your toughness at max, and then Until Death for when you inevitably screw up, and Holy Revenant so you don't die to the tinniest bit of bleedthru afterwards. But the most important part of that is Fury of the Faithful to give you back toughness instantly after you get hit. So literally any way to negate the small hits more would drastically increase the viability.
this is the ENTIRE problem with martydom. the fact that you can now just blow up and die to small hits. it either takes a ton of work to set it up where you have like 2 wounds left. or you just say fuck it and play on really low hp. or you force proc holy rev to auto your self to low hp. the problem with those options is dying in like one tiny bit of bleed through.
There are layers of shit on how bad wound curios are, those needed to be fixed 1st. But before they are fixed marty should just do following. Double the bonuses Make it so non corrupted wounds count for the 50% of the bonus Would it be op? Idk Would it be better than knoife/duel zealot? No I like then conceptually, cuz slow weapons are objectively worse than fast weapons - for the crit and mobility keystone. So the marty tree with its baked in attack speed sounds like a good TH idea But then its made in THE most toxic way "stay on low hp, dont heal!" In VT2 it worked, here it doesnt
@@adamszitas8564 when I was trying martydom I identified main problem to be the bleed through damage, so I would LOVE for them to add just a single node to the capstone: "-15% bleed through damage for each lost wound" and that's it, it's fixed.
I just wish bleedthrough damage didn't exist and toughness was an actual overshield. They'd have to reduce the amount of toughness you can get to deal with it, but I wouldn't care. Toughness being a real overshield is both way more intuitive and allows Martyrdom to work properly.
Super happy to see this. As a casual who likes to be well informed about the ticks and tocks of this game im super glad to see Tanner making this. Thank you for your continued service to the Darktide community regardless of their ignorance and dickheadetry towards you. You too JEFICUS
An interesting advantage of the immolation granade is in Hunting Grounds for casual players, where if you fight in the fire, it will remove all the hounds that jumped on you. So you dont have to worry about getting jumped by the dog while the flame is up.
I wish more UA-camrs could be like you. Maybe then the problems in Space Marine 2 might be taken more seriously rather than having a constant giga-glaze of space marine's "lore accuracy" of obscene proportions where criticism will be deemed as "bait" or "simply hating". nice to see you're back doing Darktide, picked up the game not too long ago and you've been easily one of the most informative on how stuff works. I'm still not that great but your Darktide basics and skills from a meta perspective videos have drastically helped me.
Same here. Just started playing about a week or so ago and i made one of each class and tend to bounce around between them. Now that i’ve been getting closer to lvl 30 on my characters and almost able to utilize all the talent points, i’ve been looking for a couple of good builds for each class… and my lord, literally every video i’ve watched(which wasn’t a whole lot thankfully) was saying things that completely contradicted my gut instinct i’ve developed towards talent tree synergy/building from my extensive experience playing MMO’s my whole life(I’m 29 atm). Untill i came across this channel today which confirmed my suspicions that something wasn’t right in a lot of the advice i was hearing lol. Like for example a lot of psyker build vids will tell you take shield over vent and scriers. Tends to be an issue with games that aren’t in the main stream of popularity.
Zealot book will always be S tier for me, getting that insane damage reduction/toughness for my team and staggering every single enemy in the game is just too good. Im surprised you dont fw it damn shame
sometimes it is need just one use for kill monsters, even solo if you have right place. It is like stun pause in battlefield, for revive, or save, or kill. countdown stim ❤
This vid has a lot of good info for someone new, Thank you. From all the changes there isn't enough info for me to find what I'm looking for outside of previous patch notes or out of date videos. This does a good job going into detail on why something is good or bad.
Gonna be watching this later today. Tanner, i find your darktide content to be really helpful! Love your stuff man, hope you keep making content 😊 Also your content got me able to win at least auric 5 histig consistently.
i've played a lot of this game 3 beers in just smashing quickplay. i love the perspective of the casual and sweaty tierlists being seperated, and i can confirm from my ... adventures that the first is VERY accurate.
I just want to thank you for your content, you've made me a better player, and made me have more fun in the game by virtue of feeling myself progress. Also you're genuinely entertaining, keep up the good work.
Executioner stance is my favorite Vet ult. Honestly i use it for the highlighting more than anything else. Having that information to ve able to have effecient target priority helps a ton. Takes almoat all the work out of identifying what the threats are. VoC is definitely the best vet ult but I think it's boring to use.
I am going to study this video religiously, you've opened my eyes to fatal flaws countless times in my own home cooked builds many times before, thank you for your research, it's done me wonders since I started watching your guides.
I'm about 1k+ hours in darktide and vt2, still find myself learning a lot from your videos. Definitely the best darktide build videos I've seen on ytb so far.
Thanks for bringing in someone more familiar with ogryn. I love my big guy. Im a higher end player, so his slugglish style just makes my Adhd zealot brain go crazy. I appreciate him saying it was more casual because it really does feel that way.
Eyy, glad to see this pop up on the timeline. I'd say I've got most my builds figured out and effective but its always good to see what insight you'll offer as by and large one of the best players. Also your SM2 patch video... Gods. I havent gotten to play yet but from what you said about it, it seems truly horrendous...
Thanks for adding the casual section to this, I have a buddy of mine that I managed to convince to start playing on his xbox- thing is he can only play like 1 hour every session so he will never be at the same commitment level as someone like me to the game. I told him to pick up knives on his zealot and I realize that might be a mistake now given where he is at in the learning curve of the game.
You should do this for weapons and/or blessings and perks as well, it was was good to hear all these in depth explanations of what’s good/what’s bad but also *how* bad or *how* good something is. Actually very helpful for returning players like me who might know there way around the basics of Darktide but are just totally lost with everything that’s been added since I stopped playing a while ago.
The hidden advantage of ogryn taunt is that it staggers specials/elites in the AoE. Ironbreaker taunt had the same thing. Can free people from dogs and interrupt netters, flamers and bombers through the horde long enough to melee them.
Making Martyrdom give you Vermintide temp hp would be pretty cool. They did add 'when you die, don't' with the psyker 'if you overload with perils, you just take the wound but don't go down', so why isn't that on Martyrdom? Personally I thought it would be neat if they made it like, a buff that switches what it does as you lose wounds? At high wounds you get... I dunno, Toughness Res or CDR per wound, something, and then you replace that with the attack speed and damage (which gets buffed to not suck, ofc) or something.
Fury of the faithful when combined with the crit increase in combat ability regeneration along with three curio boosts on combat ability regen. This turns into an endless one hit crit through a whole match. It's fun for a novelty. Btw, love your channel and you're personally responsible for taking my gameplay to such a higher level. I never thought I'd be able to play with even level five's and now I'm regularly holding my own and having a blast with Auric matches. Thanks for all your work!!!
Hey, I wanted to say I really appreciate that you included a tier list for casuals. I usually am a tryhard in Darktide so the insight is really useful BUT Often times I like to just jump on the game with my friends after work, put on a Damnation/Malice mission and just clicky click enemies die and have some fun and laughs with friends. And actually this video made me realize that I take different skill trees in both of those scenarios. Scrier's Gaze is extremely good, but when I want to have fun? It is kind of boring. It just makes your numbers bigger. So I take something else when I want to have fun.
I will admit if it wasn't for this ancient knowledge being bestowed upon me I would still be terrible at the game! So I thank you Mr. Tanner Lindberg for yet another wonderfully informative video with no held bars and someone genuinely acting like themselves in a video.
As a filthy casual, I appreciate the pro/casual tiers. It really helps translate a lot of guides where youll see people just say one key skill is busted but then you try it and it feels like trash. Ill probably never play auric maelstrom but its nice knowing how to tighten up a build when I want to try something harder
I love this list. I think it's pretty true and I realize that at a couple hundred hours I am a casual. I'm okay with that I think the term is what turns some people off. My team of four casuals can get through most fives without a problem, none of us will solo it that's okay. What does this list do is open my eyes to a few ideas that it didn't even think about so thanks for this.
Like many others have said, I appreciate your DT content. I’ve leaned a ton about the game and have improved a lot from watching you. DT is weird where most of the creators making build vids do not know what is good and most of the good players don’t make build or info videos. You fill a gap for folks who actually want to learn and improve.
Smokes are fun imo. In my experience they're useless against melee and bombers, but will block line of sight of all ranged eneines. If you throw a smoke between you and a gunner the gunner will usually do a few things; they'll either stop shooting and go back to cover until they regain LoS, continuing shooting through the smoke at where they last had LoS of you, or push up into the smoke to regain LoS(Snipers also behave the same and sometimes I'll have a sniper still track through the smoke but take significantly longer to actually shoot and it can also make Snipers temporarily leave the map to reposition). Shooters and Shotgunners most of the time will push up to the smoke with their ranged weapons out and depending on your range will re-engage at range or switch to melee with you already ontop of them. It practically halves the range of trappers and flamers. Using smokes to block LoS from docile patrols seems hit or miss, sometimes it works and others it felt like they did nothing. They're also not bad for going dor revives due to the stagger when the explode, but only viable in that sense with revive speed curios/Leave None Behind talent/or throwing smoke while using Infiltrate due to smoke not breaking stealth. But of course, you do have to be mindful of smoke placement to be effective, you can use them to just stagger a patrol as you engage. They don't do damage, I'd never run Grenadier, no reason to have 4; I'll never use tinkier, no reason to increase the duration to 30 seconds from 15(15 second duration is long enough), and I always run stockpile because I'll never take grenade pickups while using smokes when an Ogryn could get another frag etc I love my smokes, but yeah horrible placement and why use a blitz that's full support when I can use Kraks for boss damage or Shredder for damage and utility in one. Still love them, though.
Martydom is SO BAAAD. Its interesting, its unique. With the correct build you can make yourself decently tanky, making some of the worst parts of zealots tree weirdly viable, but far from good. Still, martydom enables a bad playstyle and its benefits arent even worth it. Its benefits need to be unironically doubled to save the keystone. And unless they've changed it, you literally cant get the full benefit of marytdom. The max wounds being 7, you can never physically reach the 7th stack. You will only ever at one point have a martydom working at 6 wounds. But truth be told, zealot needs some reworking. The middle tree in its entirety needs love. And loner needs to be changed into something else 100%. I love these skills trees to death, but the fact loner ever made it into the game, in a game like this, is amazing.

I broke my computer. I’m a dumbass. Other subject the newest video you posted thank you. Holy crap somebody needed to say it again. I really wish angry Joe made a review and said you done fucked it up. About space marine 2 I noticed the comments were paused, and I wanted to give my support there, but I couldn’t so I’m putting it here even if it’s not the same subject as the video This is a really good list too. This is the things I like which I can completely understand not everything‘s good. And so far pretty good holy shit it’s great how you make this and it actually makes sense. Well if I go to watch somebody else’s video they make it sound really superficial and big like it’s actually important and then you realize oh wait this is like a one percent buff this does fucking nothing
As a more casual person Immolation grenades and Brain Burst are both great for covering weak-spots in load outs when I have to be able to do everything because its a coin flip on if my team can either take care of X enemy type or if they are even alive to deal with them. BB especially with its auto attack option now that it no longer always hits the horde is just extra damage to dangerous targets. Thanks for the list, making me want to go play some different builds after getting stuck playing the same 1-2 per class for the past half year.
I'm an Ogryn main of 200 hours and I'd push back on the Taunt a bit. Because it has an effective range, and although it lasts for twenty seconds or whatever, every afflicted enemy should be dead within five seconds on a good team thanks to that damage increase. In the hardest missions new Specials and Elites are pouring in each second and they are not taunted. There's also the Shove Taunting if all you really want is to pull aggro on groups. The damage increase does not apply to shove-taunted enemies. There's the Slab Shield's blocking gunshots which insta-taunts enemies at infinite range. They just put away their gun and start walking toward you - effectively pacified for you and your team. Taunt is still good in casual play! But I'm skeptical of it at the highest levels if we presume your teammates are making competent choices and want to stay moving. That's the environment where Charge comes just a little bit ahead.
Thanks for bringing out more Darktide, i am a better player (for a casual trying to move to Tryhard) thanks in part to your videos. Even if i love the Bolter in all forms…. Also, Jeficus was a great cohost. Good synergy.
I will never understand how zealot was cooked, half his stuff is neither fun or effective to use in the tree and the other half is "see this boss? no you don't". Great vid as always, glad to see a the comparisons between the two sides of darktide, both for the fart smellas and the smart fellas.
Im so glad you're posting darktide content again! I recently bought the game as it was dirt cheap on a steam sale and even your content from 9+ months ago has been so insightful for me. Thank you for your efforts! I do have a question for you Las Recon vs Columnus on Gun Psyker which should I go for/which is better? Also is your Gun Psyker build from a while ago still viable/good after the Unlocked and Loaded changes?
The best thing about shredders are their versatility. A big horde is in your face? Spam all your grenades and watch as everything dies. One of your comrades have run of to find more plasteel? Throw that bitch half way across the map when he has two crushers on his ass. Need to by time when your VoC is on cooldown? No worries you have your friendly shredders to help by time. Down right broken if you know what your doing as a vet.
I think something that's worth mentioning (on the Casual side) is that as far as I know auras do not stack. There is no benefit to bringing 2 Survivalist Auras, for instance, you don't gain double the benefit. So in that instance, when I join a lobby and there's already a Survivalist Vet in the team, I take Fire Team or Close & Kill. Might as well give 5% more damage or 5% more movement speed, as it's better than nothing.
I would say that the Ogre's Charge ability has one more layer to it and that would be an ability to reposition yourself into more suitable position, since the charge allows you to force your way through any horde, unless there is a literal boss. You can get to explosive barrel, pick-up, or downed ally. At least, that's why I run it on my build...
Very good video, very informative, and I like that you did 2 charts for casuals and tryhards too cuz I consider myself as a casual who learn and maybe after some time be a tryhard, however I see little chance for it cuz I am 37 and I feel my reflexes are not as at 20 years ago. :) Jesus it hurts even when I write it down. :D So a suggestion: With the new patch it could be good if you do a chart for the weapon modifiers meaning what to "sacrifice" for what? Seek for 80-80-80-80-60 Or try to find a balance? If so, what to choose to sacrifice for what? I know it probably depends on the class using it and on the build but it can be informative cuz I tought that on weapons what has mobility, I should choose that to be 60% but now I starting to realize that maybe its not a good idea on higher levels cuz I have to dodge and run and reposition constantly. However with a psyker I probably will sacrifice quell speed when I use venting sriek cuz I literally dont need to quell or only for a little duration but now I use my burner psyker with force sword like this: Use primary and secondary on staff to stack up soulblaze, use vent is I reach 100% or overuse it, and if I dont have the skill at 100% and reached 99% peril I just switch to my sword and chop some until it gets lower. Its a new playstyle for me, but I enjoy it.
A use case of the immolation grenade which I think was missed out for casual play is protecting yourself or teammates while doing minigames. It won't stop elites, obviously, but if your teammates are particularly hopeless at protecting the person doing a minigame, an immolation grenade will prevent trash from interrupting you. This is more useful on Rolling Steel than most levels due to the time pressure, as you'll want to be doing the minigame even when it is pretty unsafe to do so.
I love veteran stealth + saw axe special attack to boost zoomies super fast around the map. Grinding enemies away is nice, those with armor are soft as plushie for me. Also sniper stance is good with bolt pistol, I adore fighting with 80 snipers running around, while I regen ability by one-shotting each of them, wasting all the ammo in backup. I love veteran
the youtube meta game. find any tier list video. copy all the opinions in it re post ideas that arent you'r own on other platforms swear the ideas are right. build an identity around those ideas epic win. thats how we get idiots that actually title videos like " number 1 knife hater uses dueling sword (which is just knife for hipsters)"
Devs should really hire you as a balance consultant. I'm not saying the devs don't know better, but they don't see the game from a players perspective and definitely are not pumping the same time in and understanding how things perform in-game, they have to still work on it after all. Stats and metrics don't represent the experience well in interactive video games like they do in other kinds of software. You really need to put the time in and get familiar with all the metas to start making good balance decisions. Its so important to listen to your passionate players in the community because they know the game inside and out and usually just want things better for everyone and more fun.
krak is great when you get +1 capacity or you're playing with enhanced blitz modifier, which is right after 5% crit that works well with high rate of fire + critchain guns. it still does stagger enemies when needed, just less splash dmg. frag has similar problem when bombing crushers(you can twoshot it with melee or gun them down) or anything else, because trash mobs and melee enemies below crusher/bulwark are easily taken care of by melee(which also gives toughness regen and sometimes serve as cover from enemy guns). a stack of bulwarks can be a pain when their shields overlap, krak doesn't care about that. often it's just not worth the time to pull out any grenade and throw when you can just melee/shoot. It leading to fireteam is great, since survivalist is often picked by someone else(multiple instances don't stack iirc) and often there are staff psykers in the game - there is already surplus of ammo. 5% dmg is better than nothing. Same reason I forego focus fire or really any keystone because someone else probably has focus fire; the points I saved lets me get onslaught + superiority + bringitdown at same time. Tagging is extra button press, often is used to find target in the dark...etc.(so the stacks are wasted against sniper and such that already get oneshotted), and often would stick to wrong target when there are tons of specials/elites in a pile. --- beacon of purity healing health equal to amount of corruption it clears would be pretty cool, it would make grims heal players over time. Loner should be changed to +1 coherency(pushes over the 4 player cap to 5 so it works with any number of players) and call it "helping hand(from the emperor)" or something. Even then it sucks because of how coherency regen "works."
Man I'm so glad Fatshark kept it so that Veteran aura situation is the same both pre and post Class overhaul patch....in that Survivalist is really the only choice. If I had to change the other vet Aura's so that people would at least consider them I'd change Fire team to give a +5% damage for each team member in coherency, with the max being 20% Close and Kill is a little tough to tweek if you don't want to completely change what it does, but yeah I agree making it so that it increases dodge distance is good as well. Although I'd buff it even more, I'd make it so that the effects of the aura double when there's an enemy in close range.
Shredders I've not played the game long enough to know where to put them and it always just feels like "yeah I mean, it just killed 7 standard enemies, that's pretty nice" but hearing what you've been saying perhaps I'll give it another chance. I've always used Krak because I just really enjoy slapping it on a Bulwarks shield and killing them instantly through shield.
Very good video and hugely appreciate the distinction between the tryhard solo stuff and casual/pug players. Far too many tier lists dont attempt to approach that distinction, which is incredibly important. Only thing I personally (partially) disagree with is the Purity Aura, purely in casuals (tag me as "one of those" I guess). But in defense, there's a very decent Symbol/Purity/InexJudge build that doesnt suffer much from the points tax, and it's my go-to build for carrying pubs. Don't underestimate the huge amount of corruption damage from dog pounces, not pushing poxbursters, getting stray hits from poxwalkers, standing on nurgle spew and just generally derping that happens in pugs with casual players, and Purity fixes all of this and keeps casuals from dropping down into lower wounds. Yes it doesnt heal lost wounds, but the corruption attrition that pugs suffer can easily take them over a wound boundary. Also, as an aside, whlist Emperor's Bullet remains terrible, the 30% impact is sorta okayish if you're going InexJudge as you wont have Punishment, and Shield of Contempt is another one of those "actually not too bad" Pug helper talents. It's teamwide Barkskin from VT, just with slightly weird uptime requirements. Again, synergises with a pub-helping casual build. And given that Field Improv ALSO doesnt heal past lost wounds, Purity is basically far better as its always active (not counting the grenades). IF you can afford the points tax. So in the situation you're a.) taking Symbol anyway + InexJudgement, i'd rate it A/B tier for Pubs. And Symbol is a Pub Carrying tool anyway. Both garbage for solo stuff, but very effective for pug carrying. Definitely agree its D tier if you try to take it with any other build combo though as you just screw up your build entirely if you try to get Fury, Stealth, or Piety.

As a console darktide player, the zealot throwing knife is especially ass because the of the button layout. It’s the only grenade where this really matters, but trying to aim, move, and dodge while pressing the D-pad to throw it is really hard.
what the fuck? that sounds like ass
Im very good with throwing knives and I have to press down on my D pad to use them. You just have to get used to them and doing the penance helped me with them. Also you just line up the sights of your guns with the enemy and then press the button its rather easy.
U can change ur button layout if that helps
@@cheese_man5105 there is only one button layout on console that allows you to dodge and jump with different buttons and its back button dodge or something like that. Mind boggling to me we cant customize controls and that out of 7 different schemes only one is worth using. Fatshark doing fatshark things.
Change your controller layout to the one where knife throw is on r1.
Its life-changing.
yessss, my favorite daktide youtuber finally makes new darktide content! :D
well im glad im someones favorite
@@TannerLindbergunironically the most cracked min-maxxer.
@@TannerLindberg there is so much good information in your videos, helped me a ton and I keep finding new interactions as i watch this video (had no clue uncanny worked on your burn/blaze for example)
@@TannerLindberg You are also my favorite youtuber period, I have thousands and thousands of hours on horde shooters and I am very greatful with the knowledge you provided, it also increased my critical skills in the theory crafting aspect.

The only problem is it requires at least a bit of team coordination with movement and a lack of a teammate that is just mowing down ranged enemies.
they are also still decent on vent purge if you can live with not being able to see shit x2.
Glad you're back in darktide man. I only found you after you'd backed out for your own mental which I respect. I struggle with self control and respect you coming back to something that was difficult for you. Shows a lot of growth to face that again. Thank you for sharing your expertise
I like smite because with that heavy node plus the stun baton makes the enemies glow funny
well im glad you enjoy playing the game at least
It at least needs to do something when you have corruption and when you have not lost HP.
There are layers of shit on how bad wound curios are, those needed to be fixed 1st.
But before they are fixed marty should just do following.
Double the bonuses
Make it so non corrupted wounds count for the 50% of the bonus
Would it be op? Idk
Would it be better than knoife/duel zealot? No
I like then conceptually, cuz slow weapons are objectively worse than fast weapons - for the crit and mobility keystone. So the marty tree with its baked in attack speed sounds like a good TH idea
But then its made in THE most toxic way "stay on low hp, dont heal!"
In VT2 it worked, here it doesnt
I just had a very shit day, but thanks to this video It's less shitty
Thank you Tanner(I also really like your darktide videos)
Hey that's a really nice thing to say thank you :D
Thanks for coming back man. When I started watching your videos, I got a lot better at Darktide. Been missing your input.
Nevertheless! Awesome video as always Tanner!
Not finished with the video but I love how y'all take into account the casual side of the game
nice to see you're back doing Darktide, picked up the game not too long ago and you've been easily one of the most informative on how stuff works. I'm still not that great but your Darktide basics and skills from a meta perspective videos have drastically helped me.
oh and another thing but do you happen to have a discord I could join?
Love your stuff man, hope you keep making content 😊
Also your content got me able to win at least auric 5 histig consistently.
hey thank you
i've played a lot of this game 3 beers in just smashing quickplay. i love the perspective of the casual and sweaty tierlists being seperated, and i can confirm from my ... adventures that the first is VERY accurate.
These darktide videos + underrail video have been really big help, cheers.
Also nice to see you talking about Ogryn for once
Thanks for bringing in someone more familiar with ogryn. I love my big guy. Im a higher end player, so his slugglish style just makes my Adhd zealot brain go crazy. I appreciate him saying it was more casual because it really does feel that way.
I really appreciated the 2 separate tierlists and the explanation for both. Love the in depth blunt no frills analysis.
plan: TRUSTED
Always love the videos. This is honestly probably the best darktide breakdown video ever.
The hidden advantage of ogryn taunt is that it staggers specials/elites in the AoE. Ironbreaker taunt had the same thing. Can free people from dogs and interrupt netters, flamers and bombers through the horde long enough to melee them.
Good to see another darktide video from you again :)
Love the darktide videos the most informative out there
Fury of the faithful when combined with the crit increase in combat ability regeneration along with three curio boosts on combat ability regen.
I usually am a tryhard in Darktide so the insight is really useful
BUT
Often times I like to just jump on the game with my friends after work, put on a Damnation/Malice mission and just clicky click enemies die and have some fun and laughs with friends.
And actually this video made me realize that I take different skill trees in both of those scenarios. Scrier's Gaze is extremely good, but when I want to have fun? It is kind of boring. It just makes your numbers bigger. So I take something else when I want to have fun.
Really great video, just started darktide and this is very helpful
I will admit if it wasn't for this ancient knowledge being bestowed upon me I would still be terrible at the game! So I thank you Mr. Tanner Lindberg for yet another wonderfully informative video with no held bars and someone genuinely acting like themselves in a video.
Glad to have you back! Keen to see more dark tide content
Ty tanner for the great info as always
Great to see you back on darktide content
oh nice, i feel like this is more chill than other vids(? haven't watched in awhile) and i like that
The KING has returned to darktide baby.
I love this list. I think it's pretty true and I realize that at a couple hundred hours I am a casual. I'm okay with that I think the term is what turns some people off. My team of four casuals can get through most fives without a problem, none of us will solo it that's okay. What does this list do is open my eyes to a few ideas that it didn't even think about so thanks for this.
honey bust out the fine china! tanners back to darktide
DARKTIDE CONTENT
THANK YOU LINDBERG
Like many others have said, I appreciate your DT content. I’ve leaned a ton about the game and have improved a lot from watching you. DT is weird where most of the creators making build vids do not know what is good and most of the good players don’t make build or info videos. You fill a gap for folks who actually want to learn and improve.
As an avid auric only martyrdom player i agree with your proposed changes
They don't do damage, I'd never run Grenadier, no reason to have 4; I'll never use tinkier, no reason to increase the duration to 30 seconds from 15(15 second duration is long enough), and I always run stockpile because I'll never take grenade pickups while using smokes when an Ogryn could get another frag etc
I love my smokes, but yeah horrible placement and why use a blitz that's full support when I can use Kraks for boss damage or Shredder for damage and utility in one. Still love them, though.
Please, Mr. Tanner, bless us with Smoke Grenades tutorial, this community NEEDS IT
Martydom is SO BAAAD.
I love these skills trees to death, but the fact loner ever made it into the game, in a game like this, is amazing.
i wish it would get buffed. it needs someone to stop a down.
The comment got too long, so I’m shorting it
Firstly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you’ve made
And the hard work you’ve put into it even though nobody respected it like there are people who do, but there is a large majority of the sub Reddit whoever just been piles of shit
Thank you so much for being awesome and you know without the information you brought to light I would’ve never been able to make good loadouts or even remotely know which blessings are actually good
Thanks I was able to enjoy the game. I broke my computer. I’m a dumbass.
Other subject the newest video you posted thank you. Holy crap somebody needed to say it again.
I really wish angry Joe made a review and said you done fucked it up.
About space marine 2
I noticed the comments were paused, and I wanted to give my support there, but I couldn’t so I’m putting it here even if it’s not the same subject as the video
This is a really good list too.
Tanner is literally Scout from TF2 talking about Darktide skills and i love it!
Another banger Tanner!
If only any of these perks were as strong as 50 Destruction on Skyrim Requiem.
Really enjoyed and appreciate this vid
I’m just happy to see more darktide content love me funny warhammer game
From my experience doing classes penances, those low tiers bring back so many pain and trauma.
D tier for Preacher and bottom ranking Psyker wall??? Ummmmm, hello, Ordo Malleus? Yeah this guy right here. Yes Cyclonic Torpedos please.
Psyker wall is legitimately awful
@@TannerLindberg But it is pretty good for me on aurics when using the dome, or is this for just the standard blitzes and not the sub-modifiers?
All of the sub modifiers are taken into account.
We rated bubble very highly for worse players and very low for better ones for a reason. It makes up for alot of lacking positional awareness
"I wish I was a casual"
If someone told me Tanner said this even as a joke I would never believe them. But here we are.
Muted?
I love veteran stealth + saw axe special attack to boost zoomies super fast around the map. Grinding enemies away is nice, those with armor are soft as plushie for me.
Also sniper stance is good with bolt pistol, I adore fighting with 80 snipers running around, while I regen ability by one-shotting each of them, wasting all the ammo in backup. I love veteran
This is a good video because it affirms my opinions.
the youtube meta game. find any tier list video. copy all the opinions in it re post ideas that arent you'r own on other platforms swear the ideas are right. build an identity around those ideas epic win.
thats how we get idiots that actually title videos like " number 1 knife hater uses dueling sword (which is just knife for hipsters)"
I love zealot's charge because of playstyle and gameplay it provides. Just having more fun using it.
2 Hours of a turbo gamer talking about basically everything in the game? Sign me the fuck up lol
He can never escape
oh fuck two hour long tanner video. I've been waiting for this since the update. Hit me with it
krak is great when you get +1 capacity or you're playing with enhanced blitz modifier, which is right after 5% crit that works well with high rate of fire + critchain guns. it still does stagger enemies when needed, just less splash dmg.
frag has similar problem when bombing crushers(you can twoshot it with melee or gun them down) or anything else, because trash mobs and melee enemies below crusher/bulwark are easily taken care of by melee(which also gives toughness regen and sometimes serve as cover from enemy guns). a stack of bulwarks can be a pain when their shields overlap, krak doesn't care about that. often it's just not worth the time to pull out any grenade and throw when you can just melee/shoot.
---
beacon of purity healing health equal to amount of corruption it clears would be pretty cool, it would make grims heal players over time.
Loner should be changed to +1 coherency(pushes over the 4 player cap to 5 so it works with any number of players) and call it "helping hand(from the emperor)" or something. Even then it sucks because of how coherency regen "works."
Thanks for giving me my opinions on balance, Tanner. Please, updated Plasma Veteran build.
Leeeeettttsss goooo!!!
Even ranked the ogryn ones. 😅
Man I'm so glad Fatshark kept it so that Veteran aura situation is the same both pre and post Class overhaul patch....in that Survivalist is really the only choice.
If I had to change the other vet Aura's so that people would at least consider them I'd change Fire team to give a +5% damage for each team member in coherency, with the max being 20%
Close and Kill is a little tough to tweek if you don't want to completely change what it does, but yeah I agree making it so that it increases dodge distance is good as well. Although I'd buff it even more, I'd make it so that the effects of the aura double when there's an enemy in close range.
Ogryn actually gets +2 Big Bombs from Enhanced Blitz. So 3 total! BOOOOOM!!!
I always give my Ogryns headsup that I run Field Improv just for this.
1:03:34 I’ve never laughed so hard at a darktide rant before, this is peak
Could we possibly get new builds for the new meta?
Yeah, Loner sounds about right. I'm using it for penances and I honestly have to fight my instincts to stay in cohesion.
Casual player here but this makes me understand better what to look in a build.
Top G is back!
good to have you back tanner. do you have any tips for maximizing voidstrike dps in auric for a newer player?
